View Full Version : Need Help for upcoming Tourney....

Heya.

My scope is more marvel focused. I haven't had to build a single
DC:HT Tournament team yet. However, this weekend, my local venue is hosting a 200pnt Constructed DC:HT tourney.

I have constructed this team as my force, but humbling myself to accept my fate as a n00b DC team builder, I would appreciate some advice or help.

My "current" force:

Steel (r) 66 - i figure he can wax those pesky batman team figs

Bane (e) 76 - he is my main heavy dmg dealer and hitter.

Booster Gold (r) 28- Bane taxi, also he can zap medics at 8" away, or just act as a back up melee

Robin (r) 17 - stealth with range attk, back up HtH, and with L/C i figure he has the noodle to chase down medics and stuff.

Checkmate medic (r) 13 - well, it IS a tourney, i would be foolish NOT to have one right?? right??

Total Points: 200

This looks absolutely solid. Good luck.
Only word of advice, be careful not to push Steel, he only hits big on his first click.
To get the first shot off you might want to taxi Steel out with Booster and attack (total range= 19"), then move Bane up to meet them. Of course it all depends on starting moves and set up anyway.

I just played my first tournament(200 pt marvel).I'm no expert or anything but you MUST find a way to put Aquaman in .Whichever version you want.The Leadership will work wonders for you,he can hit hard in the beggining,he's cheap, plus he has free movement.Also if you can put in a taxi with free movement team ability.You'll give your opponents fits.It's hard to set up in a 200 pt game,plus the possible extra attack via Leadership is a God send for finishing off guys that would normally get back to their medic.Trust me.And if at all possible get an outwit in there.I know R steel is nice because of his team ability,but like AZS said he flops after he gets hit once.Heres what I suggest
1)V Aquaman 41 pts 11 att 3 dam SS and LEAD and he is JLA so he gets free movement
2)V Hawkman 48 pts to move Aquaman around.Sit him a space back and either wait or push and charge him(4 clicks)and when he gets in he has 2 clicks of CCE.Somebody will have to choose between him or Aquaman.
3)V Huntress 35 pts JLA free move,some leap/climb to get out of hairy spots,and 2 clixs of RCE with an 8 range.Use her free move to set up support shots for Aqua/Hawkman and with leadership you could have all 3 attack on a turn
4)V Checkmate Medic 19 pts 4 clix of support means he can take a really hard shot and you'll still be able to heal.Plus he does 2 dam at the start and can fight a little if need be
Thats 143 now you can round it off with
5)E Nightwing 53 pts OUTWIT you will give people fits.Outwit their medics support when he needs it most.Or any other superpower thats gonna give you problems.Someone might decide to go with a beefcake army and it sure is nice to be able to outwit someones Impervious right before you bash the #### out of them.Does'nt even cost you and action either.Thats who I would take or you could go with E Booster for a JLA free movement taxi and the ole thorn in the side R Robin,but Outwit will come in much more handy.Good luck!!!!
