Hi guys,
I'm playing a friendly tomorrow against an 800pt Skrull themed team.
I'm going to field a team of 'heroes', a few of which I haven't played yet.
I just wanted to see what people thought of my team.
Av Winter Soldier
SI Iron Man w/Shellhead
SI Namor w/Protected
SI Elektra w/Lunge*
HoT M-11 w/Auto Regen
HoT Star-Lord w/GotG ATA
HoT Captain America
Sin SHIELD Sniper w/Spotter
Sin SHIELD Sniper
*Lunge on Elektra; I've never used Lunge as a feat, but loads of people on here say it's great for characters like Elektra. What are the main benefits of the feat?
Thanks in advance for any advise
Its a good team, but not without problems. Things I see:
-No PC, and no theme to make up for it. In a game this size, you really ought to be able to work that in
-Many Skrulls are stealthy, and you need to be able to deal with that. That can be dealt with 2 ways: Seeing into stealth (via Trick Shot/Superman TA and so on) or TK and Charge. 2 chargers, but no TK, and no see into stealth other than Cap.
-Aside from Elektra and Namor, your team crumbles in close combat.
-I wouldn't put Shellhead on Iron Man. Instead, go with Outsmart to get some outwit protection.
The benefit of lunge is that Elektra can charge 2 more squares as long as she has Leap/Climb, which is included in the SP that gives her charge. Also, she can break away freely and change targets in close combat with the lunge, if you don't like your positioning for whatever reason.
Since half the fun of games that big is running big, comic accurate teams without sacrificing ALL combat effectiveness, I submit two for you: Justice League of America and Avengers:
Justice League of America, 800 pts:
JL046 Superman 226
+Life Model Decoy 12
+Lunge 5
JL001 Batman 75
BB048 Flash and Green Lantern 200
BB009 Atom and Hawkman 120
CR026 Green Arrow 104
CD041 E Elongated Man 58
=800 pts
Avengers, 800 pts:
HA040 Captain America 72
SI006A Yellow Jacket 100
+Brilliant Tactician 20
HA016 Thor 226
+Fortitude 25
SI021 Iron Man 188
+Outsmart 10
FF012 V Hawkeye 84
+Trick Shot 20
FF004 R Black Knight 54
=799 pts

Thanks for the advise luper4.
As we're doing a Marvel themed game, I think I'll also try your Avengers team. I haven't used that Hawkeye or Black Night in years!

Another way to boost some values so as not to miss would be to slap
contigency plan on HOT CAp. He rarely gets shot at because usually hes way back taking shots here and there so his Leadership never gets called into question or in other words he doesnt get hit off it. Ive seen lot of my friends play him that way.

You could play HOT Cap that way, but with the Avengers, there are actually even better options for contingency plan. What you want out of a CP'er are 1) long runs of leadership and 2) someone unlikely to be in any danger of being in combat/outwit range. For this purpose, I prefer to break it down old school and use IC143 U Wasp. Four leadership clicks, 19:d-normal:, possible late game 8:a-fist: incap.
Spidey, there's also another way to bust stealth: :m-boot: + Hypersonic + Maneuver. The Avengers definitely have a guy to fit that bill in Quicksilver. If you want to adjust the Avengers team to include both of those things, drop Hawkeye and Black Knight and add:
IC143 U Wasp 44
+ Contingency Plan 12
AW053 E Quicksilver 62
+ Maneuver 8
SN017 E Mockingbird 27
AVB001 Jarvis 5
=799 pts
Changing Quicksilver to the AV058 one allows you to trade Mockingbird for AV057 Scarlet Witch and 5 more points for feats. I wouldn't necessarily do it though; I like the AW Quicksilver more for this role, because of his slightly better defense and more plentiful HSS.
I know it's a Marvel game, but I wouldn't sleep on the Justice League team. The ability to TK out Superman AND some kind of support on the same turn is killer. And that team gives you plenty of things to TK out; Outwit in Batman and Atom/Hawkman, PC in Elongated Man, and stealthy ranged follow-up damage in Green Arrow.

Thanks for the all the help guys.
I haven't played clix for a while (apart from the small games I teach at my local hobby store), that's why me and a friend are playing the big 800pt'er tonight.
I think I've mislayed some clix & cards, so the team I'm running is:
HoT - Cap
HoT - Thor w/Fortitude
SI - Yellow Jacket w/Bril' Tac'
SI - Iron Man w/Outsmart
Sin - Ant-man w/Running Start
FF - Hawkeye w/Trick Shot
I'm also gonna use the Assembled BFC
I'll let you know how it goes

When Groot becomes Colossal he ignores the skrull team ability. Its a feature of colossal size.

Well, the team work out great. I won.
We played on the crashed spaceship map.
I pretty much always hit with any dice roll due to the +1 from the Assembled BFC and I added 'Alpha Flight' ATA to my team against the Skrull T/A as a whole.
I got a bit worried when my friend revealed his team which included Ms Skrull-vel, so I took her out first with Iron Man and Thor. And then they took out Captain Skrull-vel.
Captain America & Hawkeye dealt with all the generic Skrulls and Super Skrull, while Yellow Jacket and Ant-Man dealt with the Skrull Yellow Jacket & X-Men Super Skrull.
The only KO to my team was on Hawkeye who was taken out by Captain Skrull-vel and Skrull Jarvis.
Iron Man and Thor took no damage from attacks at all.
