I actually haven't seen that many of these posts which surprises me since they are a big theme in this set. How does everyone think the dark avengers will play out as a team?

They are either 466 or 550 depending on if you use norman or iron patirot. (I'm using LE daken for both builds)

My Dark Avengers team is going to be:

Norman Osborn - 66
Moonstone - 76
Bullseye - 117
Venom(LE) - 70
Dakan - 63

Total - 392

I know HoT Venom is much better, but I want to try the new one. I also want to use the Wolverine suit Dakan, but he brings the point total to 401... ugh...

Dark Avengers are going to be difficult to build (as a keyword team)... the point totals just seem all whacky and you end up leaving out important parts of the team. Or having way too many points until the next 100-point increment.

Too bad they can't/won't errata Sentry and Ares.

My next constructed team after WoS arrives at my door will be this team with the HoT Venom. I think it just looks fun as heck.

The build I'm thinking of (for Golden Age, anyway) is:

WS039 Iron Patriot 150
+ Vendetta 6
WS031 Daken 63
+Auto Regen 12
WS042 Bullseye 117
+ Thunderbolts 8
+ Alias 3
WS038 Noh-Varr 141
= 500 pts

To me, all the cardboard seems useful as well as thematic. Vendetta should really help out Norman's lousy AV, Auto Regen is great with the bad Daken's plentiful regen, and Alias represents Bullseye pretending to be Hawkeye, and helps protect against someone attacking at range. T'bolting to Ultimates will help against stealth.

Should work, and I'm planning on trying it at some point.

I played:
Bullseye 117
Noh-Varr 141
Venom (Le) 70
Daken (Le) 72
for an even 400pts. They went up against a Morlun team, and was able to take out everbody but Morlun. I don't think it says anything about the Dark Avengers, it's just Morlun is insane given the right circumstances(no outwit to slow him down)

The figures themselves are great and vary in abilities. Venom, while not as great as HoT Venom, is still a great tie-up piece. His middle dial with 4 damage, shape change, and steal energy is deadly.

Daken acts as a cool tie up piece that I used in previous games to tie up a figure, then pushed to backstab.

Bullseye is always a huge target when I play him. He's very vulnerable, but after he gets hit he becomes even more dangerous with phsy blast and perplex.

Marvel Boy is the muscle of the team and have longevity with his mid dial perplex and hyper sonic speed and end dial regenerate.

Overall a pretty decent team. They just lack transport and outwit(Unless I find a build that fits Norman or Iron Patriot)

I need to play them some more to really get the feel of them.

I don't have an the LEs so the best I can come up with is:

Noh Varr 141
Bullseye 117
Daken 63
Norman Osborn 66
+ 13 points of pogs/objects/feats

Iron Patriot only has 1 click of 10 attack value. Way too bad for 150 points IMO.

Too bad they can't/won't errata Sentry and Ares.

Just ask your local TO. I'm sure they would be ok with it. At my Venue Sentry and Ares are just fine in a Dark Avengers theme.

The listed Keywords only apply in the World Tournaments anyways.

I got a few pieces in a mock booster draft and I did a semi-theme team on them:

Stormin' Norman Osborn
Daken
Noh-Varr
2x HAMMER Agents

I was over by a few points but literally had no good replacements and they were fine with it.

I tested my theory of Norman with Daken, MM damage over to him and it worked spectacularly, Daken died three times over before he really died, and he even got his 6 on Muramasa Blade (It was on R/B Spidey, but still kinda cool), so a figure I was initially underwhelmed with actually did great for me.

Norman was great, MM damage, outwitting and letting the Hammer Agents with their ridiculous attack pick on the target of choice, I really like the Hammer theme, to bad I doubt we will get more pieces for them like...ever. I actually took some damage from Solo and turned to Iron Pat at the end of the game, giving me a great power figure late on. He is really the perfect AE, they got him right.

Overall fun, going to sit down and work on some 300/400 point builds and try to get an LE Venom (Got Daken already), maybe somebody out there wants a Toxin, Night Nurse or Mugger LE for it.
