View Full Version : Do you Mind? ( what do YOU think it is?)
So again it's me, with yet ANOTHER 300 point frickin team. I bet you guy's get REAL tired of me posting a new team at least every other day, don't ya? Sorry, my job is a slow boring one, and I love this game. This will PROBABLY be my last team posting untill Xplosion comes out, cause I ain't buying anymore figs till then, and I have used up all my limited intelligence creating the 8 or so teams that I have previously posted.
So let's get this over with already.
"Do You Mind?" - 296 points
Moondragon Unique 71
Professor Xavier Veteran 83
White Queen Rookie 61
Doombot Rookie 27
Doombot Rookie 27
Black Panther Rookie 27
Well, whatcha think? I've got 2 leadership rolls, 2 free move taxis, an outwitter, 3 mind controllers(2 of wich have 10 inch range-16 with a doombot moving em first) a Tk'er and 2 mind blasters. The doombots can exchange damage to heal the Prof, and Moondragon can heal her dang self. Black panther isn't there to allow ME to do more damage. He is there to outwit an opponents defense so that their OWN character can damage them. Should I get lucky enough to succeed on three mind control attacks in one turn, WHOA! talk about major pushing and damaging of my opponents figs. this could be alot of fun, but if I miss to early or often, I would be toast pretty quick qith no real medic.
Definatley not a team to play for the weak hearted, cause I got NO defense other than a pretty good offense.
What do YOU, my fellow clixers, think of that?

I think it's a good Idea: it was for me anyway, I came up with a similar team but instead of Prof X I had gorilla Grodd,Exp White Queen instead of her rookie and a medic it was a higher point game. Just hope to have a higher role for first player slot. if not then put your team somewhere on the map where it's hard for your opponent to have first strike. Also beware of your opponent having a mind controller, that could also be devastating

Gutsy! Looks fun, but potentially difficult to play. I probably would not do that team in a tournament - but that's just me!
ture, true, but I have never seen anyone where I play use any mind control figs, so If i use this then I hope to not run into any onf them ( You listening fridayweb?) :)

You need someone with a 12 attack. If your opponent fields someone with an 18 defense and who is most likely over 100 points you're going to get pounded.
I did a simalair team in a tourny, for fun mind you, my opponent was using a Firelord, Pyro, Avalanche, U Wasp with two medics, look at me turtle and then shoot you in the face team.
But I love Mind Controllers. I would replace one of them for a heavy hitter though.
yeah, at 11 attack with the prof as my max, it could be hard to hit. Just have to stay away from those 100+ pointers till the end, or use another of thier powerfull figs against it with the prof, then exchange clicks with the doombot. I never said it wasn't risky, and as so many teams are built to almost the same spec, i figure nobody would really be ready for this. with the low attack though , I really need lady luck on my side.

... here's an alternative I've seen in action... not sure on th point total yet but...
E.White Queen
U. Moondragon
R. Pyro
E. Avalanche
2x V. Hydra Medic
as I said, I'm not sure about leftover points, etc, but... generally speaking, set up barrier around the two mind controllers and medics after they make their brain stealing attacks... with attack boosts of +2 courtesy of their companion hydra medics... that quickly turns emma's 10 to 12, shrinking that 18 defense to only needing a 6 on the dice.
Just watch out, though. I had this sweet 300 pt. mc, psych blast team all put-together. Nearly unbeatable. It could take down the toughest of figures like *that*. I went to the tourney, pull out the team and stared down my opponent. He snicked and pulled out his team - a 300pt. Sinestro. No mcing, no psy blasting.
..Luckily I had a BP to outwit his defense and a Nightcrawler to Bamf-attack him...
true, but that plan relies on a turtling style of play, and while perfectly valid, I am a more aggressive player, I don't like to sit and wait for THEM to move into range, I wanna go out and take the battle to them.
Thanks for the idea though.

In a game not so long ago, We were playing a 600 pt team.
I had:
V DOOM
V Xavier
E Jean Gray
and a lot of mandroid armors.
my enemy had a
V THOR
oWAW Supes
U Darkseid
and some others
I was able to TK my DR DOOM and Xavier accross the board in the first move and had my Dr Doom carry Xavier do a running shot and took out his medics Xavier then Mind controlled Darkseid
Darkseid then outwitted Thors invulnerability, then mindcontrolled
Supes to grab a rock and then pound Thor with it.
My xavier took one damage
Darkseid took 2 damage for mc'ing superman
and thor took 5 damage plus he lost both of his medics
I was happier than dog finding a new butt to sniff!
Thought I would share that with you all

Random,
With all the leadership your team is packing you don't really need both of your taxis to be free move capable. I suggest you drop 1 of the Doombots in favor of Rookie Vulture. This frees up 12 point plus gives you better mobility (8 move instead of 6).
You then have 16 points to play around with which you can use for either a Medic or SHIELD Sniper. You could even to upgrade your remaining Doombot all the way up to its Veteran level giving you even more mobility.
Hope this helps, your team looks like a bucket of fun to play with and against btw! ;)

there ya go! that's the kind of advice I am ALWAY's On the lookout for! thanks Veggie

actually i've used this kind of team and sometimes it works... most times it doesn't

my similar team uses:'
U Moondragon
V Professor Sexy
E? Logan
R Doombot
R Vulture
V AIM Medic? (maybe shield)
I don't know the exact levels of the medic or logan, but they fit in at like 299 pts. Team worked really well. Logan handles close in and MD and PX handle big hitters.
Well, Xavier, care to elaborate more? And Listen, I am not calling you a bad player or anything, but maybe you just ran up against someone better? Like I said, it would take guts, luck, and patience to run this team. I STILL think it could work, but it deffinatley is not MY first choice of teams either. Just one for consideration.
