Web of Spider-Man Mafia

Inspired by mbauers.

Today I bought my brick of WoS, and wow, what a fun set! I've got a bunch of my favorite characters, and there are plenty of great teams that I'll be playing, I'm already making them in my head!

Then I was thinking, why not make a Mafia based on the set? That should be fun! And it will give me plenty of opportunity to think even more about the figures! Sweet!

This will be a pretty standard mafia game. I'll try my bestest to not include broken roles :)

I'd like to get the game started within two weeks, so it still has that "new set scent" attached to it. I'm looking for 16-20 players.

I've been meaning to launch these as a series since Hammer of Thor :) I just think the idea is so very cool!

Man, we've been hit with a swarm of Doc Ocks in our area. Dozens of Doc Ocks, not a single Cosmic Spidey.

And that's the one piece the power gamer in me must have!

Consider yourself lucky. Cosmic Spidey and Doppelganger are the two that I want, but nobody in the area has seen either of them in any cases.

They were in the first two boosters I got...I was hoping for Rulk, She-Rulk, Deadpool, Bag-man, or Green Goblin...maybe even Ironman/Warmachine.

Fun fact: It costs pretty much the same to ship from the US to international as it does a normal domestic package.

So I never really understood the "I will only trade in the US and Canada" nonsense people spew.

Because it is nigh impossible to track a package once it leaves the US. Then, if it does not arrive, the shipper usually bears the brunt of the expense of replacing the product or refunding the cost of the item shipped. Even if I use Delivery Confirmation - which I always do - that confirmation ends when the package leaves USPS jurisdiction.

Its not worth the headache and, if you are doing business via ...that auction sight... its not worth the risk of negative feedback. Even if you can prove that the product was placed in the safe keeping of the USPS, they can still ding you with neg feedback if the package never arrives.

Apparently you're one of the nicer Sellers who leaves Feedback as soon as someone Pays instead of holding hostage on it.

That always irritated me - if I paid promptly, I've now fulfilled my end of the bargain. No holding out "Threat of Negative Feedback" just as protection against your screw-up (not saying in your example that's the case - I mean in other situations that have happened). Especially since said site used to be heavily geared towards protecting the Seller and not the Buyer.

Oh, and the ironies - Doppy and Cosmic Spidey were in my first brick (along with Morlun and Mysterio...hurray for Mysterio and it's nice to not have to hunt down Cosmic Spidey for my completionist need...and Morlun has a fun dial if I ever get to play...but, for some reason, still feel disappointed. The second brick of my case was a letdown though - Bag-Man - admittedly nice - and Spot and Spider-Hulk....).

Eh, I believe there should be 4 per brick so when there isn't, I feel shorted. :)

On the bright side - apparently -very- bright from what I'm reading on the boards - I'm only missing X-Ray to have a complete CUR set (and have multiple decent rares so maybe I can trade easily enough to get him).

Though I really wanted Vapor too. :(

Average for WoS? Well #$!@, our area's been getting the short end of the stick. A whole lot of 3 SR bricks/6 SR cases.

(I suppose I've been comparing it to previous sets. I've never pulled more than 6 SRs in previous sets' case purchases.)

See, I thought 8 was average - 4 per brick - with the occassional oddball 3-brick.

An average of 6 SR to a case is just brutal!

I bought a CUR off someone so I have a full set of those...Super Rares, not so much...hoping to pull or trade for the ones I really want, should get another booster or two tomorrow so hoping for something good :)
