My opponent, The Virus, is a big fan of R and E Firelord, R Invisible Girl, Medics, U Elektra and maybe a Pyro or two. Mizz Richards usually gets put in hindering terrain and the rest of the bad boys crew forms a tank around her. Beating down the normally defense dropping Firelord is pretty hard when even on his last click he has an 18 defense.

Here's what I was thinking of countering with, using 300 to 400 points.
E Ultron, E Boomerang, Wasps, some SHIELD agents. Basically, move the SHIELD agents to the front, have one Wasp fly Ultron up to 10" range and EE while surrounded by SHIELD agents. Sue stands a good change of taking anywhere from2 to 6 clicks of damage on a good day. Get another Wasp to fly Boomerang up to share Ultron's attack value. Then have Boomie and Ultie lay down cosmic waves of SHIELD enhanced death. The first blow should take Sue out of her Defense click pretty easily. Any thoughts?

A pretty typical way of dealing with a group around R-IG. It'll teach them not to bunch up. Use Doombots and one Wasp, though. Include a Hydra so you can use the Doombots to boost Ultron's attack value even more. Use U-Wasp or a V-Doombot for leadership to get an extra action for more SHIELD boosting.

V-Ultron
E-Wasp
2x R-Doombot
2x R-SHIELD Medic

You'll be able to do 9 damage in a single triple EE attack with Ultron. That'll wipe out most of a bunched army in a single attack.
