From Diamond comes a picture of the Green Lantern Hal Jordan, made of green plastic, available in April from Inquest Gamer #97 (along with other mags).

You may have to right click on this link and open it in another window.

Enjoy!

It's there. What you have to do is go to the page, get rid of the image name by cutting it...you will go to the home page....then pste it back in.

Really cool, i've seen it!
However I would have preferred if he was Rayner, or at least if he was painted an not green plastic!

Thanks, pal!

Nice attempt there... the pic is a fake. Quite a poor Adobe Photoshop job there I might add :p

Would somebody please stick the picture back up so we can all see the supposed fake ?

Well, I don't like to be called a liar, but I guess I can understand people being leery of "internet information".

I will say again that this is a true picture that I got from Diamond. I don't know how I would even begin to fake a GL hero clix, the text, sure but the clix?

I'm the same guy who got the info on this promo in the first place from our preview of Previews the shop I work in gets, and I think everybody agrees that was 100% real.

I'm not trying to bum steer anybody, I just want to share the sweet GL love.

I can't wait to get it!

Pax,

Tim

You were right, it is real.
I don't think it was the "internet information" people were unsure of. That honestly does look fake. That's a pretty pathetic looking figure.

Sorry if it sounds like people are calling this a fake or whatever, but the pic does look pretty shakey. Also, in the current issue of Previews there is no mention of this figure or picture in the Wizard/Inquest section. Another person posted a similar concern in the initial announcement thread on the front page. Is there a page number or source you could point us to on this?

edited to add:
Checking out last month's Previews Catalogue from Diamond there was no image of a Green Lantern clix with the solicitation, just a "stock" image of Hal Jordan that looks like it was pulled from a comic. Again, I'm not trying to call you a liar or anything, I'm just wondering how others of us who check out Diamond's Catalogue missed it.

Draddog has posted it on another thread, which is good enough for me. My guess is it will be in the next issue. VERY odd looking figure though. Weird.

However :-

Which Green Lantern is this ?

It's not any of the big four (Hal, Alan, Guy or John) , and it's not Kyle, and it looks like a construct, so whats the story ???

Dorkie looking or not, it's got the GL team power of "Carry up to 8 people", so EVERYONE will want one...I wonder what the points cost is ???

Personally, I'm definitely going to get it. But I would much prefer it if the figure was not all translucent green.

I'd prefer a "real" person sculpt as opposed to a translucent green figure, but it really lies in how well they sculpt it. The Invisible Girl experienced & veteran figures both turned out really nicely. What could be cool is a half & half GL figure like they are charging up their power or something. :)

Yeah that'd be pretty sweet.

Personally I'd be rather disappointed if that image was infact the LE Green Lantern figure. I'd much rather it be one of the GLs in their uniforms.

Perhaps they could even make the GL in their uniform, then coat it in a thin layer of translucent green plastic. Sort of like how you see John Stewart when he's flying around in the Justice League cartoons.

Qoute from the big man, Jon L,

"It's a green, translucent version of the John Steward Green Lantern. He has lots of Phasing.

Why him instead of Hal or Kyle? Because he's on T.V.

Now you know.

...and that's that.

It's a glowing John Stewart from the TV program, not the comic.

Or it's the John Stewart from the comic but because he's on the JL cartoon. He's also the active GL in the JLA comic so it seems like he's the man right now. John has always been my favorite so this is very good news in my book.

Noman

I've never seen him look like that in the comic, hence I'm assuming that's how he looks in the cartoon, which we can't get over here...

He looks really cool!

Wouldn't it be horrible if he had "spiderman syndrome" and didn't even have his own team affiliation?!

Noman

Don't even think about it...He WILL have GL team, and become the ultimate taxi ! (8 people at once...wow)

...well, untill Cosmic Justice comes out, of course,

Qoute from Jon L on "the other thread" - you know, the one Draddog started...

Qoute from Jon L

"Why John Stewart in green?
The John Stewart Green Lantern is being cast in translucent green plastic to represent him using the ring to either

a) pass through solid matter, or

b) beef up his force field.

In either case he looks green. We and DC thought it would be cool to do a version like this and have powers that are different from the version that will be...oh, wait, I can't finish that sentence.

As for the picture, that's a photoshopped image of a non-translucent figure because that's all we had to work from. The actual piece looks different.

Oh, hey Angafea, I don't think it's cool that you're posting pictures that you're probably not supposed to. It may be fun, but I bet it'll come back and bite you in the butt at some point. Maybe you should just wait until the image if officially released before posting it? Especially since I now know your name is Tim and that you work for Diamond.

Best,

Jon Leitheusser

Ouch.

That sounded like the Thump of a Stone Tablet on a mountain top.

All the Best

Noman

...but at least Jon L explains
a) Why it's such a photoshoped picture
b) That John Stewart is in the set.
c) That the real translucent fig looks better.
d) That he's a bit miffed
and e) why no one could find that picture anywhere, which is why some people thought it was a fake.

Ummmm.....any body else feeling stunned ?

Well I myself am no longer feeling disappointed with the LE Green Lantern; as Jon himself has said the figure will look different to the one in the pic (thank God).

The GLs are my favourites behind Superman, here's hoping they can kick some Marvel bootae! :p

Bummer. I hated that they put john stewart on tv, and I hate that they made him the LE. Where is the Kyle love? When they first said that John Stewart was the tv GL, I assumed that it was Kyle, voiced by the guy from the Daily Show.

Anyways, they'd better ####ed well have a solid, OWAW Superman class Kyle Rayner Vet in this set, or I will be mightilly pissed.

Hal's the best, but John is pretty cool. I'm bummed that it's translucent, and bummed that in the next set there won't be a Hal, but getting ANY GL is pretty cool.....wonder if Hawkgirl, Martian Manhunter, and Wonderwoman are coming out soon.....

Liquid Havok

BTW they added John (on TV) instead of another GL for a couple of reasons....the main one being that he is black and they needed some diversity.

Man I have wanted to say that for like ever, but didn't want to come across as un PC. I also seen a pick of John Stewert in the new issue of Inquest. It said that the GL fig is coming out next month. I was also wondering if the reason it was translucent is so you couldn't tell who it was & the base would just say "Green Lantern" & you could just believe it was Kyle, Hal, John or maybe even Alan (i'm a dreamer). I think that would have been cool, this way here everyone wins. No one can say "Man I wish it was......." Maybe that's just me though.

Kyle does NOT belong in Supes' level.

He may be occasionally portrayed as that powerful, BUT:

a) He's a whiny Gen-X artist, not a hero by nature
b) He's technically still a rookie, IMHO
c) He does NOT have the Iconic status batman, Superman, or the Hulk have, not even as much iconic status as Hal jordan.

However, I can see an OWAW power level Hal Jordan... unfortunately, his Vet level would be that stupid "Parrallax" nonsense without his own team affiliation...

I, for one, love the idea that John Stewart is the LE Green Lantern because then it will allow those who really want him to purchase him, though I'm sure everyone will do so just to make a fast buck on eBay.

The only gripe I have about the sendaway LE's is that the sculpts are the same as the the ones in the boosters. I would prefer to have a totally unique figure for an LE (on the smae level as a Unique) than just a repainted version of a same one with different stats that comes in a booster. If John Stewart comes in the next DC expansion, then I hope the sculpt is different from this sendaway LE. The OWAW Superman was a great idea but did they have to use the same Planet of the Apes reject in a Superman costume as the actual figure? At least givve us something different.
