Hi all,

What are the differences between Phasing and Leap/Climb?

Does it just boil down to the ability to move through walls on an indoor map? If you're playing on an outdoor map, is there any real difference between the two powers?

If there are no other differences, shouldn't Nightcrawler have gotten Leap/Climb instead of Phasing, since he only teleports to places he can see (at least when I read X-Men)?

Thanks!

Phasing lets you pass through walls and generally ignore terrain, and ignore opposing (and friendly) figures while moving. Characters with flying and phasing (like Vision and Dr. Strange) can carry folks and phase, which is very handy, especially on an indoor map.

Leap/Climb lets you jump over stuff, ignore opposing (and friendly) figures while moving, and lets you attack figures in adjacent squares regardless of elevation.

Phasing doesn't let you attack figures on a different elevation.

Eh. Maybe. But phasing lets you go through walls, which is what teleporting lets you do (and I'm fairly certain that Nightcrawler could teleport to places he has seen before, but couldn't necessarily see at the time).

Say....I have a question....Can the person with Phasing be attacked by RCE and CCA? I just wonder about ShadowCat using Phase power to avoid being attacked, hit, or shot by anyone with RCE and CCA? Can do it? or Phasing has to come with SuperSense or Outwit to avoid being hit? I am still new to this and I did not have a good chance to try my Swamp Thing because it was being "clocked out cleanly" in a row and got taken out of game really early. :( So anyone know the answer or offer the suggestion?

Yes, you can be hit by RCE and CCE while having the Phasing power.

Usually Wizkids designers (the guys who gave us "He Who Shall Not Be Named") design the figure in such a way that the Defensive Value (DV) will be high to signify the figures Phasing power or whatever power they currently have at the time.
