I'm not sure if it was the same in the USA and other countries, but in the UK at the end of 2008 and start of 2009 (before NECA took over) you could occasionally find Heroclix boostes and other items going for a pound in bargain outlets (that's around $1.50 US). I remember the first ones I saw were the Batman boosters, and I couldn't believe my luck as I loaded up my basket. Over the next few months I also found hauls of Secret Invasion, Avengers, Mutations & Monsters, Arkham Asylum and JLA boosters, but the best bargains I saw must have been the BPRD box set and Alien and Predator (Horrorclix) sets, each only costing a humble pound.
Was anyone else as pleased as me to find these at their local shops? Or maybe you bought a huge stack off a friend, or a LE for dirt cheap on Ebay? Over to you...
Oh God I was JUST THINKING ABOUT POSTING THIS. Except it'd include Trades, and Purchases.
I was able to pick up a Magog for 10.00 and a CJ Atom for 3.00 Sealed. Unbroken with about 2.50 for shipping.
I was excited because for some reason it was under a BUY IT NOW

I snagged Ultimates Carnage about 6 years ago for 9 dollars. He came with Vet Venom from Critical Mass and a few other pieces.
More recently, when Crisis came out I got Az-Bats for 10 bucks.

I got a case of Secret Invasion, shipped, for $60.
I gave away sealed boosters for prizes for part of the hiatus period.
A few years back I decided to sell off a bunch of old music CD's I had just taking up space. I took them to a local CD shop and they bought a schwack load of them for about $150.00. Flush with my new found cash, I decided to stop into a couple of the local comic/game shops.
One shop had the Green Lantern Corps. collectors set (when it wasn't yet very scarce) for $20.00, I immediately bought it (he had at least 1 more set that I should have bought and held onto).
The next shop, had the 2099 & Invincible collectors sets. In the 2099 set, Ghost Rider was broken off his peg, and in the Invincible set Robot was broken off his peg. He had them marked for $20.00 each, but without me even asking, he sold them to me for $20.00 total taxes in.
Looking back, those were definitely the best deals I've gotten from a retail purchase.

My wife had ordered me a brick of Hammer of Thor for my birthday. It cost about $80 shipped, but when I got the box, I found that they had accidently sent me 2 bricks.

Getting the City of Heroes/Villains double pack with all of the clix that came with it for $5 was pretty cool. (I like Big Lots)

I snagged Ultimates Carnage about 6 years ago for 9 dollars. He came with Vet Venom from Critical Mass and a few other pieces.
More recently, when Crisis came out I got Az-Bats for 10 bucks.
I overpaid on ebay for Carnage a few months back... just because he's my fav marvel villian(along with Onslaught of course), but as far as deals go... i know for boosters of Crisis locally for just under 10 bucks. some people would probably concider me crazy for not picking them up yet.
I was buying cases of Arkham and SI for $60-70 shipped. I'd then make sets with the buyers choice of 3 SRs while supplies lasted. I only pulled one chase out of at least 15 cases though. Which I thought odd but still profited greatly selling to overseas players.
My best deal ever though was when I first started getting into clix I saw a set of 40 some LEs and promos. Well the advertised figures were Hulk, Spidey, and Batman. The shop was located near a Wizkids warehouse and didn't specialize in games even more of a pawn shop. Anyhow I noticed boxes from Legacy and Sinister but couldn't see the figs inside. Being new any LE was cool with me. I got:
-2 BIBTB Venom, Chrome Silver Surfer, 3 Parallax, promo KC Flash, promo KC Green Lantern, Halle Berry Catwoman, Chrome Nova, 3 Superman Robots, 2 promo Mongul, promo KC Hawkman, promo Johnny Alpha, 2 Ghost Widow, 2 Captain Mako, 2 Statesman, Manticore, Positron, Lord Recluse, Black Scorpoion, Tsuami Hulk, 2 Mutant Mayhem LE Hulk, Promo IC Spiderman, Promo Icons Batman, Dark Knight Detective, IC LE Hulk, LE MM Magneto(Xorn), 2 AW promo Wolverine, Magog, KC Bat Sentry, and few other lower value LEs. There may have been other high ends as well. At the time I thought I found a treasure chest. These were the expensive, hard to acquire figs, some still are.
I paid a total around $35 with S/H I believe. The same seller put up a few more auctions. I remember was a lot of assorted clix yellow, blue, red, and silver rings. This was before Avengers so silver meant SR Unique. No list of figs other than saying Batman, Spidey, Hulk, various popular characters. In the picture right on top was Nimrod, KC Hawkman, Icons Braniac, and a few good Vets. There was over 500 clix and it sold for around $200 but I bet it was worth way more.
I still remember my bro and I opening those boxes. It was ridiculous. This was back when these figures were sought after and went high dollar.
During the break I also picked up a lot of assorted LEs from the guy out in Washington state. For $41 shipped I got Dr. Karla Sofen, Blastuur of Balaar, Annihilius, Gabriel Jones, CT Natasha Romanoff, Whitney Frost, Nenora, Emil Blontsky, Tia Senyaka, Raksor, and 7 others I can't remember off the top of my head. They were all Marvel. Another gamble and I was pleasantly surprised. I noticed he always lists the figures now instead of saying mixed lot of various LEs. Basically they were listed as loose, extras. He sells lots of complete sets of LEs, Promos, and Factory sets. He worked at Wizkids. Auctioned off the 1/5000 Clown Prince and Skrull:Illuminati.
Hm... best deal i had was that i traded 2 super rares for a chase colonel america (zombie cap a)
Another good deal was a mistake by the wizkids warehouse when i order my 2099 sets. I bought 2 and they shipped 4 to me

Recently got an E2 superman for a Cosmic Spider-Man best trade i've had.
Probably the best deal I ever got was picking up the chromed Silver Surfer & Paralax for $20 total at GenCon from some random tiny vendor - when Paralax was brand new.
I was mostly just a collector at that time. I'd play a game every now & then at the local shop, but I couldn't have told you what the newest/current set was. Nor did I have any idea of what the "good" figures were.
If I was at a show/shop etc & saw a really cool looking piece? I'd pick it up. And $10 apiece for these two really cool looking figs seemed fair enough.....
It wasn't until I got home & some of the clix players showed me what Paralax alone was selling for that I realized I'd gotten a deal.
And I must say that I consider that I've gotten my monies worth out of them both. They've both looked cool sitting on my shelf, they've both looked cool on the tables, & I've used each to good effect many times (probably because I've never had unreal expectations of any figure gamewise - I just play whatever it is the best I can).

I do not consider mine the best deals in the world, but considering the scarcity of some of the product I was very happy to get them.
GLC and 2099 sets for 20 or 25, whatever msrp was.
Indoor map pack with 3-d object 15 maybe 10, I think I had a coupon or something.
$3 Batman alpha packs
At Gencon there were deal a plenty. I got a ton of old LEs from one booth. And just because I will never let him forget it. Bigbluebeast1982, you got my 4-eyes (or was it little sure shot?) ! :p
I paid about $1.50 for a bunch of packs of Fantastic Forces at Gen Con as well.

A few years ago the distributor was giving away "show bags" of their products to anybody who played one of their tournaments at the national gaming convention. They were running HeroClix, Pokemon, Clout, a whole bunch of stuff.
We clix players got our show bags and threw away the various Pokemon and Buffy cards, and checked out the LEs included. They were all fairly old figures and not too exciting.
Later in the day I happeed to notice some of the Pokemon players looking over their HeroClix LEs. They'd all been given show bags with the good stuff - Clobberin' Time LE Dr. Doom, marquee LEs, that kind of thing. I gave one of the kids a twenty for his LEs and he was amazed I would pay so much for them. :p
