So u have to mail away inorder to get the green lantern or who ever that is in the green klantern corps. ?
Another thread on the site sugested that this pic was a fake.
( thread was Sweet Sweet Green Lantern LE Love )
...but, as Draddog has posted it, it must be real !
However :-
Which Green Lantern is this ?
It's not any of the big four (Hal, Alan, Guy or John) , and it's not Kyle, and it looks like a construct, so whats the story ???

Dorkie looking or not, it's got the GL team power of "Carry up to 8 people", so EVERYONE will want one...I wonder what the points cost is ???

Well this kind of looks like ION with the armored boots & the armored guantlets on his arms.
Perhaps Hal as a Green Lantern is not happening since DC lost their minds and made him all evil and #### then made him some agent of God's wrath on injustice and stuff.
*sigh*
Even though I am mostly a Marvel-ite, I was getting all geeked up about the possibility that the Inquest exclusive was Hal Jordan.
Maybe it is. It just doesn't look like it from that pic.
Kind of cool pic though. I will send off my $19 or so for two to come some time in June-July.
Thwipp!
As I said on the other GL LE thread I'm not trying to call anyone a liar, but the two most recent Diamond Distributor Catalogues didn't have this image anywhere in the Wizard/Inquest section. The official solicitation for Inquest #97 had a drawing of Hal that looked as if it was pulled from a comic, and the solicitation for #98 made no mention of this LE at all.
Can somebody in the know post a page # or some sort of source for where the image came from? Does Diamond's retailer catalogue differ from the standard advertisements in the consumer version of Previews?

At long last!!!! I don't care which GL he is, as long as he has some good super powers to go along with the GL team ability. It would be nice if he wasn't 100 points. Cheap! Make him cheap!! (I know he won't be.) *SIGH*

I can't help but wonder if the figure will even look like that. The pic has a border all around the figure, as though it had been tampered with digitally. I'm not saying it's a fake mind you. I simply believe that it may have been altered to keep people guessing. We'll all likely find out on Wednsday anyway. That's when the new Inquest is currently scheduled for release.

That's not how magazines work. If you check you last issue of Inquest, you'll see that it's the March issue. The month isn't listed to indicate when it's released. The month is listed to indicate to the retailer that after the listed month they may return any unsold magazines.

Secondly, it's like that Wolvie- berserker promo, or the Supes- Worlds promo. It's probably an Ion fig promo. I'm assuming that with all the hoopla over getting GL figs in the next DC set (which we've been waiting wayyyyy too long for), they're giving you just a taste of the GL's to come. They'll probably have Hal, Kyle, Guy, John and Alan, or some form of them. Hopefully, they'll make the set surrounding the GL them, kinda like Xplosion. I just hope that they make all of the forms of Hal, at least as Uniques or LE's. Also, they probably wanted to make another see-through fig. C'mon Sinestro has one.
The issue of Inquest that has the Green Lantern LE coupon is #97, and is solicited to be in shops during the month of April. This is not the cover pull date or anything, this is when it is listed to be arriving in shops. The issue being released next week is #96, meaning we won't see the appropriate issue until sometime during the first week or so of April.

hmm i am of two minds here, the first says that am thrilled that there's a new dc clix on the horizon. The fig itself i am not too sure of. It looks a generic green lantern, not's that it's a bad thing, but most of us were expecting hal or kyle. Still I am happy DC clix aren't completely forgotten.
SmilinJack
03/01/2003, 22:21
Hmmm...####py pics, release date in April...Could this be a great big prank?
Oh, man that's a cool looking clix. So, it's Ion and not Hal or Kyle? I don't care, I have to get it! And if I'm willing to buy an issue of that piece of garbage, Inquest, to get it, you know I'm desperate.....YEAH! DC! Make more DC clix soon, please! And a new Batman clix while you're at it (Bats should be the Wolverine of DC clix...imho). :)
It's a green, translucent version of the John Steward Green Lantern. He has lots of Phasing.
Why him instead of Hal or Kyle? Because he's on T.V.
Now you know.

P.S.: The ad in Inquest was done before they knew which GL they were getting. They assumed -- it will cause problems, but I think people will like the figure.

It is a nice looking figure.
Oh well. Here's hoping for Hal Jordan sometime down the road. I guess I can scratch out the name on the base and replace it will which ever I want. He is basically a big translucent green guy hopefully not a lot of points and can transport a mess of guys around a board. . .
Thwipp!
Thanks for the info Jon. Word from the top is about as good as it gets for confirmation.
John Stewart has always been my favorite GL (rock the Mosaic) so I'm more than pleased to see him being the first one out of the gate.

03/01/2003, 23:16
Ok, first off how where would I find this magazine. Second how much is it? Do you just send in a coupon for it or do you have to pay money?
daredevil11
03/01/2003, 23:33
Silver Viper . . . the magazine, most comic and some hobby stories will carry it. It will be, if it follows like the others, 5 bucks a figure, limit of two figures ($10). I've paid with checks before, I think money orders too. You can pay extra to get it shipped fast - 2 dollars extra I think. Those are the guys on ebay who show up as soon as mail in figures start arriving, if you pay regular, you'll wait a week or two longer. I'm cheap, I wait. You'll need the coupon from the magazine. Same offer could be repeated in Wizard magazine a month later.
Cool figure, Hal is my Green Lantern, but John is my kids so they will be ecstatic. He's my second favorite so I'm not disappointed at all. I'm sure we'll get Hal at some point, if not in the next DC, maybe the one after that - he's a big fish, gotta come sooner or laster. If this follows like the other LE mail ins, this may mean that Steward is in the regular set as well - maybe painted instead of translucent. If not, this mod is a modelers dream - get two and paint one. I've got a mod of John Steward already, so I'll probably change mods during battle, Translucent to attack, painted to rest - that should be annoying to the opposition LOL.

That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard. And back to the Phasing comment, the Stewart in Justice League NEVER phases. Bubbles and beams, bubbles and beams. So if we're going by TV all of a sudden, we're not being very consistent.
I had no problem with the movie tie-in figs in Marvel sets cause they stayed true to the comics. You aren't releasing a Ben Affleck Daredevil figure in Xplosion or a Colin Ferrel Bullseye. The Elektra in Xplosion is straight off a comic cover.
But releasing Jon Stewart, the GL equivalent of a second-string quarterback, before any of the others is just ridiculous. I was really looking forward to this LE...but now I'm not. Very disappointing.

I love the look of the fig, but i am a little dissapointed that they used jon. I like him as a character and all, but hal, alan scott, or kyle, should have got it. I mean would you make an le for captain america, with a figure of john walker (US Agent) because he was once captain america? He is a second string GL. I feel sad and dissapointed at wizkids simply because they chose him because of him being in a popular show. Does money have to control everything in this world! at least 80-90% of heroclix players wanted to see hal, alan scott, or kyle, but did they get it...nope. Another loss for the fanboy, another gain for the almighty dollar.
kevinhochen
03/02/2003, 02:47
Is it just me or does the figure look like Sinestro? Maybe an old version of himself when he was still a green latern? Any thoughts?
You're right!
I think WizKids should produce the game so that only fanboys will buy it! That way no one outside our little group of geeks will buy it and it will go away sooner and be more collectable than ever.
Okay, maybe the sarcasm was a bit thick, but The_Captain, ya gotta realize that just because this is the first Green Lantern doesn't mean he's the only GL that will ever get made. I'd rather see Hal Jordan or Alan Scott, too, but if WK wants to do Stewart first because he's more well-known to the public, well, so what? Let 'em, I think they've proven that they like to give the fans what they want, but they also have to go beyond that. If that means 5-10% of a set aren't the characters we all wanted, then so be it. We still got 85-90% fanboyish characters.

My only thought after the inital disappointment was that this might mean we'd get Hal and Kyle in Cosmis Justice as REV's. Then I hit the "Wait a sec, they already made a Jon Stewart..." and that's when I realized that he'll probably be who we get as a REV and the LE will be like OWAW Superman.
*Le sigh.*
Well, here's hoping that they do add at least Kyle and Hal to Cosmic Justice and that they don't try to make Parralax or Ion as Uniques. Mostly cuz I don't want a 1000 point team with only one guy on it. ;)
It's an orderable LE, why would anyone complain?! If you like it, get it, if not, don't!
perhaps phasing would represent him moving around in a bubble, and not needing to break away to do so....kang has phasing, and my interpretation was that was him time traveling.
proditor
03/02/2003, 03:07
Oh, I'm not complaining about the LE per se, in fact I'll probably get as many as the ole order form allows. I'm just pensive that it might mean we miss out on Kyle or Hal in the next booster. And considering how ungodly slow the DC boosters come out, we might be waiting till christmas before we get word of another one.

03/02/2003, 03:14
i think the green construct is NOT the actual figure they're giving away. The figure i think is going to be one of the 4 popular Greens ( Hal, Kyle, John, Guy)
the see thru green figure is probably just a decoy. unless there is actually a green lantern member that is a see thru green. i'm not a big DC reader so i have no idea.

I understand what your saying jeckle , and we should bring more heroclix drones into the fold, but if they wanted to sell the figure because of its popularity on t.v., why would it be in a clear/green fig, and not his regular character that the non-heroclix player might identify?

Whoever that green thing is, be it Stewart, Rayner, Jordan or whomever I sure hope it looks a LOT better in person. I'm sorry, but that pic is plain ugly. And like a previous poster mentioned, looks digitaly altered.
VH
It is NOT Hal, Guy, Alan or even John. It is not Kyle. None of them were translucent, even when powering up.
I seriously thought it might be an APRIL FOOL of some sort, (given the poor quality of the pic, and the realy weird sculpt), what with the release date etc, and that the actual fig would be one of the main 4 GL's, or even Kyle (LoL).
However, if the fig is real, WHO is it and can someone cite me the comic(s) in which the character appeared.
I don't buy this iit's someone off a cartoon TV show argument - given the variety of DC Green Lanterns out there, they wouldn't have to go non-source-material, now would they...

i know this sounds stupid, but it looks like the green lantern from the what if stan lee did the dc universe thing
I don't see the confusion. looks like Hal to me. The nice thing about the see-through plastic, it that you can keep one packaged up for your collection, then paint the other one to look like your favorite between the two (Hal or Kyle); leave his ring arm unpainted, dry-brushing along the edges! Its two Figures in one. (Nowadays They're pretty much ripping of Hal's looks let alone demenor to try and puff kyle up, so it shouldn't be very hard to mod him.)
& oh yeah..... YIPPEE! closer and closer!
wow... do you guys have really small monitors or something? Its clearly meant to be Hal, but even if I'm mistaken It could only be kyle. It doesn't look like anyone else, least of all John Stewrat. Wrong costome, wrong pose, wrong physique. Obviously its not Alan Scott, and the silly complaint that he's clear & "What green lantern was ever clear?" is ridiculous. The answer is: "Any green lantern whenever they want." Hal used to go invisible and phase through things daily in the Seventies. Wiz Kids gave us the clear plastic to try and make this special, (probably because we'll see this sculpt later) and you guys are just coplaining. I think its great. You can use it as a construct peice for your "real" GLs later on.

That's a good idea Hellboy.
John Stewart's taking a beating, so a few words in his defense. To me he's the coolest Green Lantern since Hal, and doesn't seem to be going anywhere. Actually I'll go so far as to say he will be this generation's Lantern - the fact that he's on TV shows how mainstream DC plans him to become, (you can't get more mainstream than a WB cartoon) On another note, I mean come on - DC is a little short on the minority characters, so I think DC's decision will stick.
My guess is though, his appearence in multimedia (TV) is what got him picked, just like the movies have lead to multiple Elektras and Daredevils. The figure itself, just like Elektra and Daredevil, is probably book based though. John is in print as the Green Lantern, he's not just a cartoon character, he's the character DC is promoting as the new Lantern, book and multimedia.
I sympathize with people, I'd like to see Hal at some point too, but let's face it, we're old. Hal's a few Green Lanterns back aye?
. . . Guy, Kyle and John. All three post-Hal.
Personally, I would have liked to have seen an older Catwoman, not the new Dune version or even the purple bimbo . . . Julie Newmar for me boys, but I'm not in the mainstream and few people younger than me know who Julie is.
I think at some point we'll get Hal and Alan, who knows when though, hang in there fellas or go with Hellboy's solution.
OK - but who is it SUPPOSED to be ?
I agree, obviously not Alan (No cape, to start with...), and I agree it's not John, for the reasons others have given. It's not Guy (wrong musculature, wrong head, no Boots), and it doesn't look like Kyle (it's not flying backwards going aaaaaargh...no, sorry, scratch that...), SO they may mean it to represent Hal, at some point in his career, so when, if it's supposed to be him ?
As to the argument that any GL could do this green-glow thing, well perhaps, but i've got LOADS of "source material" and can't find examples yet...goodness knows i've tried...could someone check the Stan Lee does the DC Universe thing, reffered to in an above post ? Just to see if that's where it's from...
Now, it could be supposed to be Hal - terrible sculpt, if so - but then look at Psylock, Cyclops, and Big Wasp - all more recognisable, but dodgy sculpts. So it could be.
However, the best explanation i've heard so far is that it's lifted from some sub-manga cartoon that we don't get over here, so I havn't seen it. Which would explain why I can't find a visual coroloration for this fig in any GL comic so far...
...and as I said earler
"Dorkie looking or not, it's got the GL team power of "Carry up to 8 people", so EVERYONE will want one...I wonder what the points cost is ??? "
(Everyone is thinking...now, who can I get to paint my second one ? - ...sound of 100's of solicitous emails and pm's hitting Doomtoy's account...)

Well Noman, you've got the books and the history - I'm a big TV fan. In the cartoon, he glows all the time, but isn't translucent, however, as a modeler - I've tried to make characters glow and/or have an aura, I've found it impossible and the translucent look seems to come the closest to the effect, so that may be what they we're going for and it would be easy to do if they've already got the mold for a painted REV.
I respectfully disagree with some here, I think the sculpt does look like John, close short hair, simple to the point costume.
Oh and cheers to my fellow members in Britain . . . this is about the only time I run into you guys live - LOL

1) JonL said it's John Stewart. That's good enough for me.
2) John Stewart is not 'non-source-material.' He has been a character in the Green Lantern comics for the better part of 30 years. He was Hal's alternate after Guy was messed up. He had several stretches being Earth's Green Lantern when Hal would have one of his periodic "I've had it with the Guardians - I quit!" moods. He had his own series (Green Lantern - Mosaic). He was one of Kyle's circle of advisors.
3) Unless I'm mistaken, John Stewart is the current Green Lantern. Kyle decided to take some time off, in part because of the incidents during the Obsidian Age storyline in JLA. He brought John Stewart back in to take his place. So we've got John Stewart as the JLA's Green Lantern in both the cartoon and the comic book. Sounds like a pretty good reason to make him a GL in the next DC set and a good reason to make him the send-away LE.
And, like others have said, having a translucent figure would mean you could paint in up to be whichever GL you want it to be.
Found further up the thread :-

ive seen every episode of the Justice League cartoon show (im assuming thats what he was refering too) but ive never seen the green lantern turn translucent before. so it must be jon from the cartoon but based on something from a comic.
Sounds reasonable.
QED means Quad Et Deferandum (sp ?)

QED is used in Maths at the end of theorems and such.

Well, here's hoping that they do add at least Kyle and Hal to Cosmic Justice and that they don't try to make Parralax or Ion as Uniques. Mostly cuz I don't want a 1000 point team with only one guy on it. ;)
Woah I say "Le sigh" too

<b>Can somebody in the know post a page # or some sort of source for where the image came from? Does Diamond's retailer catalogue differ from the standard advertisements in the consumer version of Previews?</b>
The deal is that I work for a comic distributer, and we get store exclusive updates from Diamond beyond (and before) the catalogue (called "Diamond Daily") via e-mail.
That's where the ####py picture came from.
You gotta have the love, man.

The John Stewart Green Lantern is being cast in translucent green plastic to represent him using the ring to either
a) pass through solid matter, or
b) beef up his force field.
In either case he looks green. We and DC thought it would be cool to do a version like this and have powers that are different from the version that will be...oh, wait, I can't finish that sentence.
As for the picture, that's a photoshopped image of a non-translucent figure because that's all we had to work from. The actual piece looks different.
Oh, hey Angafea, I don't think it's cool that you're posting pictures that you're probably not supposed to. It may be fun, but I bet it'll come back and bite you in the butt at some point. Have to say very cooooool.......
It's also possible that the final version may be partially painted, like the Experienced Invisible Woman, although more selective.
Regardless...
GLs can and have phased through objects, and have used constructs of themselves on occasion.

Well its something of a dilemma isn't it. As fans and players we all want to know everything as soon as possible . . . if you're making the game though you don't want things released too early and half done - here's a classic example, its not even a real picture. Well we're all big, you have to expect that if you seek early news it might not be 100% accurate - it will be real and accurate when it hits your mailbox - and it will hit mine, I tell you it will happen, and I'm going to get an extra or two to sell to slow people that miss out LOL
Night all - time to hit the hay.
1. Since Doomtoy is going to be ordering several, Doomtoy will likely paint one for his own use. However, since RealmWorx policy prohibits the sale or trading of repaints on this site, Doomtoy will not be painting any for internet exchange.
2. Green Lanterns can phase if they wanna. The golden age GL phased through a wall shortly after discovering his powers, in his very first appearance, and Hal Jordan routinely phased through walls, either by surrounding himself with green energy, or (at least on one occasion) shrinking himself to subatomic size, and then drifting between the atoms.
3. I personally would have preferred an LE Hal Jordan, but since LEs are invariably simply repaints of ordinary figures with special bases and dials, I guess I will just have to live with it. Putting John Stewart in the set is a no-brainer, since he's the GL in the popular TV show, and WizKids is in the business to make money, not satisfy comic book scientists who are apparently going to gripe, no matter Wizkids decides to do or not do.
4. Got'cher pineapple right here, boys: the translucent green figure is meant to imply green glow, green energy, and so forth. All the GLs have routinely been surrounded with green energy when they used their powers. I have it on extremely good authority that the original LE GL figure worked out by Wizkids was actually going to GLOW, to literally radiate green light!
Unfortunately, the original version proved economically unfeasible, since it would require LEDs and a tiny battery, and multiply the cost per figure by a factor of 80. Their second idea was quite cheap and wonderfully feasible, and caused a brilliant green glow... but was ultimately kiboshed after several playtesters dropped dead of radiation poisoning. WizKids apparently felt there might be some legal liability issues here.
So I guess we're just gonna have to deal with a translucent green plastic figure that most players will not have, which will apparently have powers that regular GLs will not have, in much the same way as the OWAW Superman did.
Poor, poor us...

I bet the Alan Scott will be unique when it comes out, based on the Jay Garrick Flash was unique, they'll probably have guy come out as the Gladiator first. & with that team ability they'll be about 301 points each. Also that's just the team ability of the gl corp as far as I can remember at one time or another every gl has quit the corp - waht I'm getting at is that team ability is a red herring, carry 8 people, get real cowboy, either the points will be so high they will be unplayable (i.e. owaw superman on a standard 300 pt team) or no one will have it, I'm guessing the latter

I'm broadly with Doomtoy on this (NOT that that's going to get me a repainted GL...LoL), John is one of the Big Four, and financialy it was a sensible choice. It also guarantees that a John Stewart GL is in Cosmic Justice. Now, if he's in it, then there is a very good chance that Hal is (as a GL) and that Alan and Guy may be. Plus, there is an outside chance we might get Kyle. I think more than 4 GLs in the set is unlikely, although I'd love to see Killowog (sp ?) or Ch'pp (Sp ?).
I certainly intend to get at least 2 of these, somehow...of course, out in the wilds we never even see magazines like this, which is a total pain...
I am very releaved to hear the LE fig will be a better one than the pic - and Green translucence might look very cool...
And on the team thing, no, they WILL have it - they'll just be very expensive...

Seriously, i for one can't wait to get a chance to get the GL- John Stewart or not. It's Wizkids, it's a GL, it's for a game I love, and something I enjoy. The details don't matter, the specifics inconsequential. If the sculpt isn't isn't to my liking? So what, i know I can't do any better- I'll still play it. Maybe tournament games all have a Firelord in them, maybe not- maybe everyone plays for the tourneys- i know I don't- I love using every figure, and trying everything that's available. How else will I know what i like? Going with what works? Maybe, what other's have tried? Sure, but where's the fun of experimenting myself?
All you can do is play....

I know there may be many -insert GL name here - fans here, but i gotta add that I want to see the gl from tv. Having seen GL lantern in many comics over the year, I can honestly say the only time I thought he deserved the ink was when he appeared in the comic comic "Hitman" and was ruthlessly parodied.
However, the JLA cartoon has exactly the right tongue-in-cheek attitude and I was sold on this "John Stewart" guy since the moment he showed up and excused
"Sorry I'm late there was alittle trouble on Rigel 9".
To hell with Hal, Guy and every other lantern. Yay for glowing/non-glowing John Stewart!! :-)

But releasing Jon Stewart, the GL equivalent of a second-string quarterback, before any of the others is just ridiculous. I was really looking forward to this LE...but now I'm not. Very disappointing.Wow Slov, I've never seen you this bitter.
GL's Phase. The most specific instance I can think of is Emerald Dawn where Hal phased in and out of prison while Sinestro taught him how to use the ring. (Could be ED 2).
Also, the figure isn't necessarily a representation of John on TV, just that Jon is on TV therefor he's a known character. But even so, they probably couldn't do the Justice League animated version because the rights are probably owned by someone else.
Anyway, relax. The fig looks damm cool and I bet he's got rockin' stats too. You know you'll regret it if you don't get one.
And look on the bright side, it could be worse, it could be Guy Gardner in his lame 80's jacket or worse than that, G'nort.
So chill buddy.
I'm glad it's Jon Stuart! I hope he stays an active member of the
JLA (in the comics and cartoon) for a long time! I also think a translucent green figure is an awsome idea, especially when the regular versions are in the set! That's a nice idea for a rare variant.
Ok, now that I've read the whole thread I'll add two more cents...
Man, I am constantly surprised by the amount of complaining fanboys can do.
"I don't like Jon, I don't like the sculpt, I don't like the powers."
Its too cool that they are continuing with the awesome looking translucent plastics that they've used for Invisible Girl, Sinestro, and the upcoming Iceman (saw 1 on ebay). And in that vein, at least he's not just a cheesy re-paint, its a totally new fig just for us as an exclusive. It shows that WK know's how loyal the fanbase is and is rewarding us in kind by going the extra step with thier promos. Kudos, and I'll be watching the stands for that Wizard mag and send mine in the same day.
*end rant*
I guess you can't call it a repaint, as there's no actual paint on it, but I got the feeling that there will be a painted version in the next DC set.

Just to drop my ten cents in...sorry inflation is killing everyone and I gotta increase price from the normal two cents...
Anyway, this is just a thought I had. Perhaps they will do something with GL similar to the Invisible Girl figs, but take it a step further. Perhaps we'll see a Rookie GL Kyle Rayner, an Experienced GL (John Stewart), and a Veteran GL (Hal Jordan). I'm sure all the versions of GL are going to be a high point cost, and doing it this way would probably realistically portray those respective characters power levels. Kyle being the least experienced GL would make the most sense as a rookie, while John is more seasoned and would make sense for experienced, while Hal is considered the greatest GL of all time, so he would make sense for the Veteran. Then, to keep in line with the Flash, make the Unique GL an Alan Scott. While I'm throwing this out, perhaps you could put Kyle with the JLA, since he was technically never a member of the GL Corps, and then have John and Hal be GL Corps members. Anyway, just a thought, take it or leave it.

Consistant? He can't phase? I thought that a lantern's power was really only restricted by his imagination. There have been instances of it in the comic (I can think of one in the Emarld Dawn storyline).
As to him being translucent ... c'mon. Every Inquest has been a repaint. This looks pretty similiar to the iceman sculpt coming out and they just removed the slide (of course he's green though). You're NOT going to get a new sculpt for an inquest offer.
When you see a lantern, he's usually surround by an glowing green energy shield ... so there ya go.
I thought we might have gotten a GL Sinestro as the offer but since we JUST got him as big fig (which needs a GL to fight) ....
Also ... why is everyone so down on John Stewart? Yeah, I think of Hal jordan or Kyle first ... but geez. Give the poor guy a break. How long has Hal Jordan not been GL? Early 90s? Face it ... everyone has a different favorite GL. I must admit ... I never really thought much of Stewart except as a fill in since I wasn't terribly familair with him until the animated JLA show came out. You've got to remember this though ... there are MANY more people that are exposed to the Justice League cartoon than read today's GL .... so I'm guessing most folks currently (that aren't diehard comic fans) associate Stewart with GL (for the moment).

Wow Slov, I've never seen you this bitter.
Shouldn't that tell you something? ;)
Granted, I was really looking forward to Kyle Rayner...since he's the current comic book GL (even if he is on another planet at the moment). So I wanted a Kyle figure.
But I was also prepared to get a Hal figure, because there are enough Kyle-hating Hal fans out there to make it necessary. So I was willing to deal with that too.
John Stewart is a shot from left field. I like the guy fine. I like the character on the JL cartoon...just not the way he uses the ring. I hate the fact that the reason is only because he's on this TV show.
Now, if there are a slew of other GLs in Cosmic Justice, then this won't be a big deal...but it doesn't sound like that's the case.
As for the Phasing issue...I stand corrected. But it still seems like a small part of the GL repetoire. I knew it would be extremely difficult to represent the power that is the GL ring...but this strikes me as an odd choice...and a threateningly unbalancing one combined with the GL Team Ability.

if one of the GLs (or any figure in HC for that matter) glowed in the dark (like those crazy mageknight "foils" that I keep losing on ebay even though I don't play the game at all).
That being said. I like Jon Stewart just fine as a mail away. I like translucent figures. I think the GL team ability is pretty darn good too, and a GL with "lots of phasing" will be scary. Only thing scarier would be a GL with "lots of phasing" AND willpower.

Why all the hub-bub???
Maybe the translucent green-ness is supposed to represent the green nimbus that GLs have when they're traveling through space. Only this GL has pumped it up a notch. :)
