#1. taking a peek at the stats, it looks like scorpion, abomination, and silver samurai have yellow on their movement. phasing, funky color on the photos or a new power?

This really does look great. I've always play Villians and that Mandarin figure looks fantastic! He could give Firelord a run for his money. That Death....something (Hey, I'm sorry. I'm not big on the comics) also looks like a helluva deal for the 70 points he costs. I'll have to get me one of them. Is he a villian by any chance? Also... who are those funny green water monster thingys? I love the sculpt on them and I hope they'll be worth using on a team.

Mandarin looks great. And Iceman is amazing - except he doesn't look like he'd really balance too well. Maybe that's just the angle. Apocalypse is only mezzo, though maybe it's just the shot.

Anyone else notice, is that a new team ability on the SWAT guys? Hard to tell what it is. Could be SHIELD, but doesn't look quite like it. And besides then these guys with the RCE would be no different from SHIELD Snipers.

wOw, geez I think WK sneak peeked the wrong stuff. A lot of nice surprises. Abomination is awesome, one of the great missing characters from Overpower but REV for HC - terrific. ... and Iceman, much better than expected. Like the look of Shadowcat and Colossus, classic stuff, the hand and many others. Luke warm on old Apocalypse, but no big deal, I see he's a unique so I probably won't get him anyway LOL. Can't wait to set up a clan of the Hand.

Don't look up xplosion on ebay. Please. You will be horrified. Someone bought 9 boxes and is selling the contents there. The pulled the U Hulk. It's already sold with BuyItNow.

Final cost......drum roll......$100.

Okay, okay. You can buy a booster case for $200 and get at least 4 uniques from the 48 boosters. That is a total of 192 figures and at least 4 are uniques. Since there are only 12 uniques in this set, that is at least a 1 in 3 chance of pulling at least one Hulk. Plus you get 192 figures!

I wish that I could #### money out of my ### just like this guy. I wish that I had the lack of patience to warrant a $100 purchase for one figure that we be in massive supply in a month. I can understand buying Bruce Banner for that, because he is super-hard to come by. But seriously! ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS for a SINGLE FIGURE..??? A figure that everyone will have in two months...??? Oh, the humanity..er..hulkanity!!

I'm sorry about the rant. I guess I'm just a little envious. I wish that I was that seller. The sell of one figure just bought me 24 boosters. SUPER-SWEET! I don't have to choose between lunch and a booster. Yeah!

Sculpt looks great. His face makes him look a little confused tho. They seem to suck at faces. If his stats are right ( whoever posted his stats ) he is way underpowered i agree. I was expecting at least 200 points. But his stats sound useable, cant decide wether to be happy that ill actually use him or dissapointed he isnt godly.

I had the pleasure of going to MegaCon and seeing some of these clix up close but I don't think I'm allowed to say too much. But I will say, that the Taskmaster is easily the "sleeping beast" of this set. It's the new, cool one from his limited series.

The earlier reply to your question was slightly incorrect.

While Abomination and Scorpion have leap/climb, Silver Samurai does have phasing to represent the teleportation device he uses.

So I guess it's just bad color on the pictures. ;)

They can both be found up on the "Warriors" section at the top menu..

Destiny has 0 attack and 0 damage, for powers she has Prob. Control and Super Senses.

Mystique, instead of giving her the slightly gimped shape change power, I believe she got Stealth and Perplex. ..she also gets Energy Explosion on down the dial for her weapons..

I had the pleasure of going to MegaCon and seeing some of these clix up close but I don't think I'm allowed to say too much. But I will say, that the Taskmaster is easily the "sleeping beast" of this set. It's the new, cool one from his limited series.

If I'm allowed to say a few things, let me know. It's hard to hold all this excitement inside. :) Everything sold at MegaCon is legitimate, so spill whatever beans you've got!

Just looked at the reported stats for V Abomination. He is a beast for just 100 points, 4 damage and an attack of 10 on his first click!

I'm a little surprised that V Doc Samson's going to cost 102, while V Abomination's only going to be 100. As I remember him, Samson was a fairly low-powered hero. Some super-strength, but not on a level with Hulk or Abomination, or even the Thing, and probably more of a Toughness-level resistance than Invulnerability. Then again I haven't read the Hulk in a long time, so he may have gotten powered up. Granted he does have the intelligence thing going for him, which it's nice to see counts for something, giving him Perplex.

Still I was expecting Doc to be more in the 50-60 point range, kind of a cheap SS for a couple of clicks character like Aquaman, rather than a real powerhouse.

Storm lost her powers in The Uncanny X Men 185, Sept 1984.

She was accidently shot with Forge's Zap gun while trying to save Rogue from Gyrich. Rogue had temporarily "absorbed" Storms powers with Storm's permision at the time. As she was incompetant at using them, Gyrich was winning until Storm came round and flew in to save the day, getting zapped by the power-nullifying-gun, by Gyrich, by accident.

She already had her Punk Mohawk look at this point.

The issue was called "Rogue, Public Enemy", and was written by Chris Claremont and drawn by John Romita Jr and Dan Green. Ann Nocenti was Editor.

Forge's zap gun was revealed to be an early version of ROM's neutralizer, which intoduced the Wraiths into the storyline.

Go figure.

Were it not that Mandarin is an idiot Doom would be drooling over his sculpt. Also, that Apocalypse simpleton appears to finally be here, and his sculpt looks kick-###! Abomination is brilliant and Doom simply cannot take his eyes off Colossus. So now we finally know who the arch-enemy of Iron Man(who is also a beauty, but we knew that) is! The generics are very sweet(especially the con artist. Doom would say rrrroowwr, but rrrroowwrs are for lesser men!)

They are so beautiful....and so far in the future....Doom is lost for words(Dr. Doom collapses in sobs, but suddenly straightens).

I just gotta agree. totally kick butt, thanks for the pictures. Those hand look amazing and will be a blast to play. Im dissapointed to see yet another medic though. I must say that all the figs look great and it seems with people like the mandarin and ironman the tournament scene will really open up as far as diversity in teams. wow 12 range and 3 damage, thats a threat i dont want to have to fight against. Sweet sweet con artist, cheap perplex, amazing, no more LE dr. doom and doctor octopus eating up my points, and shes generic so i wont feel bad have 3-4 of them on my team. finally my sentinel might actually be able to beat someone. sweet. Doc Oc is still a pretty good figure. Just compare him with Mystique. She is stealthy, which is good ; he has Willpower, which is great ! This guy will act often, from a distance, boost himself or another team member, has great stats, all of that for 66 pts... Ain't he great ?

And don't entertain any silly hopes : yours Sentinels will still be useless !! ;-)

Oh, and I just saw the stats to Colossus, the guy is SO big !!! The Expert version, for 95, is better than She-Hulk E (110) once he has clicked himself... What a treat !!

I'm glad you got the money to spend on all those and I wish I could do the same no doubt (because those figs are awesome) but why in blue hell would you spend that much money on those figures when you get an entire case for what you spent? You will all become sick of hearing the phrase "I push my Con Artist." Also, "I want to 'push' my Con Artist."

Mandarin will be in a *lot* of armies. Mind Control from 12 spaces away, and four front-loaded clicks of Outwit? Just give him a couple of Hydras to boost his ranged attack and he's devastating.

Speaking of Hydra, I foresee lots of Red Skull/Viper combos wiping out entire armies one click at a time.

I too am looking forward to using teams of Hand ninjas. I'm thinking I might combind Ninja and SWAT forces (hey, it could happen) to get a pretty mean fighting force giving + AT and + Damage... I never could bring myself to mixing the normal Hydra and SHIELD members like that.

I'm also thinking a squad lead by Mandarin, Psylocke, and Taskmaster Vs. the new vet. Daredevil, U Spidey, IC U Elektra, and afew others would be fun stuff. Maybe throw Silver Samurai in with the good guys since Samurais and Ninjas never get along all that well... hmmm...

Well Carlos, I can answer your question about phasers. Vision and Shadowcat can phase others with them. Vision has the ability to change a certain amount of mass when he goes intangable. Shadowcat has somewhat the same ability but to a lower degree. She phases her teammates quite often. The trick is that she and her fare cannot breathe while intangable so they have to hold their breath in the comics. Apocolypse had phasing but it's more like a simulation of teleportation.

No need to explain thoroughly, I am not American. Look at the symbol in the bottom corner... It means I understand, and I am not completely ignorant. I had a full look over those posted figures and had a loud, hard chuckle. Wow!! When did Doc Samson take over as resident power house in marvel? When did Gambit get so freakin' good? And why can't Iceman even defeat his own ice sculptures? These are questions I would like answers to. I mean, what is going on? I knew Jon L. was making a new game with X-plosion but holy ####. So I guess I will be looking forward to the next set; where Jon has all his favorite characters undercosted and overpowered and all the truely powerful characters are the weakest and shadows of their former selves. Hopefully in the following sets, Jon's favorite characters will coincide with mine, so then I will finally be able to use a character that corresponds to the comic universe. Oh, I may have to repeat that I have won like, 20 tournies in a row so I think I am at the least, 1000000000 times better than the playtesters they have at Wizkids. Maybe the game designers are the ones at fault for not actually listening to their own playtesters. Sorry, I may be sounding very, very harsh but come on, people have to be a little aware of some simple game mechanics.....

Thanosied I agree with you. Characters should be what they are in the comics and not just to benefit the "game" play. If Gambit's stats are correct to what is posted on this site, how did he get to be better then Rogue. On the subject of Spiderman, at least he is accurate. It only took them a set of r/e/v, a promotional, and unique. Mind you, Black Costume should not not have defend, and no spiderman team ablity since he was on his own at the time. Jon L, I know you are trying but I have a feeling you need to communicate with the play-testers more. Finally one more problem. Iceman sculpture is amazing, to bad his stats don't match (again if correct), even Boom-Boom can do more a natural 2. Scorpion with 8 range, hmmmmm, Firelord is a cosmic being and has the same. Look Scorpion can shoot the poison from his tail into space. Awesome.

Thought I might as well bring up the fact that Savage Hulk has no Battle Fury and no Charge. Iceman licks balls( good fig design). Apocalypse should have outwit. Especially before Perplex. Iron Man should have a greatly increased attack rating on all his R/E/V he has targetting devices in his armor for gods sake. Weapon X shouldn't die in 6 clicks. Con Artist shouldn't be able to do 2 damage on a click and less she is tested at the local clinic first. Paramedic? Needs no explanation(way too powerful). Mystique also Outwit before Perplex. V Doc Samson I am the end of the world for 300+ constructed armies. Scorpion V 8 range? WTF? V Crimson Dynamo in any kind of sealed format = I win. V Beast just stupid. E and V Gambit? Your suppositions are hilarious. I don't know where you heard that I was making a whole new game with the Xplosion set, but you heard wrong. No such thing is happening, all I'm doing is adding characters to the mix.

All of the characters are made the same way and if they're undercosted, then they're all undercosted, it has nothing to do with me. Nothing has changed in the way we figure the costs.

As for Gambit, personally, I don't like the character, never have, so I made him the way he is in the books. I tried really hard to make him reflect the character in the books. Iceman on the other hand I like, just becuase he's been powered up in the past couple of years doesn't mean he's always been that way, I think he's accurately represented. Scorpion has a long range because at one point in the comics he had some kind of blaster in his tail.

I've said it before and I'll repeat it for you; I don't get to pick all the characters. It's a group effort. If my favorite characters were the only ones you found in the sets, well, you'd be seeing very different sets.

Our playtesters do a lot of work for us. If you don't think they do it well enough, then volunteer to do it yourself -- but it's work, not just fun.

I have to make choices with every character I do. The characters are drawn straight from the comics, but sometimes I have to make choices based on gameplay. I am, after all, making gamepieces and because of that some design aspects enter the picture. For instance, one click of a power (unless it's on the first click) is generally pretty useless because you have a high liklihood of skipping right over it when the figure takes damage, so I don't do it. Typically powers appear in at least two clicks in a row.

I'm sorry you're not happy with what you've seen so far with regards to Xplosion -- or the other sets apparently. Maybe I'll get it right someday and I'll hear nice words come from your computer.

Thats the message I expected to hear originally. I didn't need the long explanation but it will help others. The Iceman as you must know should have on his E and V a click or 2 of toughness, than barrier and should at least do 4 damage 2+RCE on his V version. But come on you can't legitimise V Doc Samson and the Paramedic. Volunteer for HC, I will send the Email right now. So expect a response. You need only send me the proposed pieces for each set and I know what work is :). I have to give a congrats to the making of Mandarin he is a great figure construct and is accurately portrayed. SpiderMan as well but I would have gave him a few extra points maybe 85 or 90. I would revamp some versions of certain characters. I have X-Factor comics 1-69 and I know what Beast and Iceman are capable of and Iceman is a great tool on the team. EE would represent ice bolders, shards of ice, ice balls, 100 foot wide Ice slabs that he drops on people from time to time. Even 2 or 3 clicks at the end of his V dial of Phasing because when he gets in trouble he makes a duplicate copy of himself and surprises opponents. These are just ideas that it seems from what I have seen on the warriors list aren't accurately represented. I know you guys are trying but when the idea for the U Elektra came up didn't someone say in the boardroom, " guys and gals, I don't think this will be the greatest idea at this point in time". Maybe when we make Wonder Woman first. Who pretty much should be the model femme fatale for the game. I agree from a marketting standpoint and would even agree to going out and reading these crossover comic titles( no matter how bizarre or far-fetched they are) before I started the playtesting process. I would be a valued member on any team, if the ideas are there. I will also ask the 4 members whom I play with regularly to submit Volunteer lists. They are very competant players and they are the only players who have ever defeated me in 5 months of tournament play. Thanks again Thanosied

Beast has long been one of the under appreciated characters in comics. He's been around for this long for a reason, let him have his day. He can whoop that butt when he has too. As far as Gambit...let me impart some knowledge on you...Mid 90's he was Marvel's horse. He was their big gun. Had spots in every X series and a series of his own. The Cajun deserves to be statted up the wazoo. Samson can throw down as well check out the Gamma people's clashes, he's one bad mofo. Now, Good Old Shellhead...He's gonna whoop that backside isnt he? Good! He's a friggin Avenger for a reason. We need some more playable Fodder pieces so Woot for Paramedic's, Ninjas, sWat ,and Hand. I mean my fave non Freedom force piece in CT was the Vampire Lackey. Hooray for fodder. Mystique and Destiny.... WooT :) Nicely done Jon, they round out Freedom Force nicely with their abilities.

Good post Manchine I have to admit that your right on the assumption of the if I am better than the playtesters thing. But it was coming from the point that they must not have seen some of there faults. Like why get rid of a staple in 300 point marvel teams (She-Hulk) with the creation of a character that does the same thing but can boost allies and is cheaper. That to me erases that character at least from tournament play in general. Sure people will play her in fun teams but the game should try not too erase her from play with inception of a new character.

This goes for the Paramedic too. If I had a Checkmate medic in Marvel I would use it because it would free up 4-5 points that I could use to upgrade the rest of my team. That is why the Paramedic is disgusting. She is 9 less points then the V AIM Medic(which is the most commomly used medic at tournaments in marvel right now).

This post in general is not hacking the game or making people angree or whatever its just the game mechanics. I have tried to explain things before and I got people apoligizing to the site and game designers that don't listen to critisism and there is just a few bad apples. That is the reason for all the recent sarcasm on my part in the last few weeks.

Maybe I am alot more competitive then most but I like to win. Im sorry if that offends some. I also have fun and play teams that have no possible chance of winning for that purpose. But when I go to a tournament and see that I can trade JOE piece for any unique I want or need I see no other reason then to field the best team possible. I would like to conclude this post by saying thanks to everyone past and present that is creating, designing, playing, or even running demos on this game. Your work is appreciated and I am just trying to improve the product with ideas. Thanks again Aaron

Ahhh now your talking Thanoseid. But not everyone plays like that, best figures. My wife doesnt pick any mean looking figs. Wont even look at She-Hulk or Hulk. Me I use strictly bad guys. I never use good guys. I always seem to lose if I use them. There's different ways to play. I have seen tourneys that you can only pick 2 Factions, no faction counts as a faction. That can put a twist on how you play. Someone just might love human torch, my wife. So that limits her already what teams she can use. Thats is one reason for the mix of people.

We do go to tourneys. I have been to 5 tourneys, my wife has been to 3. So she does play competitively somewhat. We go more to have fun. I have won 3 of them wife has won 2 Fellowship awards.

Yes, I agree some of the characters aren't perfect. What do you expect. At least they were done very well, especially when you compare them to the pre-Jon L era of Heroclix where characters didn't receive their trademark powers and super undercosted bastiches were all the rage.

Jon L is doing a fab job, characters are beginning to play like they act in the comics for the most part, and there hasn't been a character that screams "I am borken!" since IC.

Now you say that Doc Samson is going to be the equivalent of the second coming or something like that in 300 point play. I personally don't think so. Why you may ask, it's because he does far LESS damage then She Hulk or even Abomination.

He has 1 click of 4 and 2 clicks of 3! Vet She Hulk has 6 clicks @ >2, so does Vet Abom, true that Doc has perplex but there are ways to work around that. I mean the Lord of Spoot does more damage for longer than the Doc and costs around 1/2 - 2/3 of the points and can deal the damage from much further away. Oh, and Samson isn't quite as tough as Shulkie either so they end up playing a bit differently.

As for playtesting I think the fact that no one has complained of any character being too overpowering post IC is a testament to the playtesters doing their job right. Props to them for that and I'm glad that Wizkids isn't content to just let the mistakes of the past continually repeat themselves. Now if only the FAQ would get updated more often with more relevant content then things would be right in the world of HC.

Yeah I received your message and thanks(To Manchine). I know that most people want to hear nice remarks and that everything is swell. But Im looking at the big picture and down the road. Thanks for that post and sorry for some of those comments I made.

I got screwed over many times in Magic long long ago and hate how the gaming business has tainted most store owners. All new players whom seem nice and friendly I help with trading etiquette, game rules and improving there strategies in game and when building a team.

Again I must apologize for my comments before but I hoped people can have at least the ability to critisize some things they like or dislike. I have played in many different types of tournaments(Heavy Hitters, Elevated Buldings, Team Affiliated, Sealed, 200-300 points and a good guys(E Daredevil and up) vs. bad guys(E Kingpin and up) just to name a few.

I have won about 85% of all tournaments I have been in. I have only not received an LE in 3 of 40 tournaments. I only started playing tournaments for the value of those pieces and actually prefer playing 300 mixed teams for fun with friends on Sunday afternoons. I must also say for the sake of fun games we have outlawed all forms of Firelord.

When items get rediculous in value and you need them to trade for pieces you want, getting LE's seems like a great solution. I traded in 1 week 9 LE's for various uniques and nons I wanted/needed.

Where I am from stores will preopen booster packs and LE prizes and exchange pieces inside to collect there own sets. This is when I get pissed off and do what any sensible person would(express my opinion). I have thought since the beginning that there should at least be some kind of plastic wrapping around the boosters to protect this from happening. To think that this is not happening in at least 1-10 retailers in your area is naive(did I say that right?).

Oh I know that there is a lot of nasty people out there. But not everyone is like that. The thing is if you put people in that catagory before you even know. You end up just as bad as they are. I have been screwed over so many times its not funny.

I have done my share of complaining, look for dup's and me and Beastchylde (which we settled). Its just a matter on how you complain. Its a delicate line to walk on to get it just right.

About Doc Samson. In 300 point games longevity isn't that big of an issue but first contact is.

The reasons for this are:
1) character A gets hit for 4, loses invulnerability, then miscellaneous lower cost characters finish them off.
2) Perplex can aid other characters while you sit still or before you move or whenever you want to do anything.
3) The charge of Samson can be increased to 6 squares with his perplex thus giving him a greater chance to pick up an item and hit in the same action(relates to 2 but there are many uses for perplex thought I would just list at least one).
4) Point costs. At 102 you save 18 points enough for a decent character, R Quicksilver, another medic, or even 2 CON ARTISTS. Sure you loose the Avengers team ability of She-Hulk but play in a few 300 point games and you are usually running either/and a leadership character, Brotherhood/Avengers character or several Doombots.
5)First Strike. Samson can do one more damage on the first shot nuff said. If you know the game enough and your trying to knock certain characters you see each week out of the game you should take the time to figure out how much damage they can take.
6) If you know that R(9)/E(9)/V(10) Firelord has a ceratin amount of clicks of life don't get beat by him week in and week out. If you beat him down and someone tries to run away and heal, make sure you get a guy in there to tie up the healer. I can't even tell you guys how many people don't know how much life a character has or has left.
7)Doc Samson's figure at best will look 10 times better than that nasty She-Hulk

Know what could've been cool? Flurry + Incap. for 8-10 range for Vet. Iceman. I don't care about Toughness. I mean, that's what Iceman does, he either freezes alot of people, or her REALLY freezes someone so much so that they take damage (which would've been SWEET) but nonetheless I'm loving the set, hoping for a U. Iceman :) and am waiting paiently for my 3/4 of a case!

The judges at the venues I play at do not work for the stores, and they always ask to see the shipping list. It's not an issue here.

Nice to see you're relaxed now! ;) I agree with all your points, I was just trying to point out that he (Doc Samson) isn't broken. He is very good no doubt about it. Also if your opponent has first strike on him you'd wish he had that extra longevity. ;)

As far as I can tell he's another tournament viable character. One of the few close combat characters that belong in this group, he even gives you other nice options thanks to his perplex. Honestly I'd still rather face Doc Samson accross the table instead of Dynamo or Spootlord. At least I know my opponent will take a concerted effort to engage me up close. :)

Hi Jon.

In this case, maybe it's the basic equation (is it on an Excel sheet ?) which may be wrong. From what I've seen yet of the X-P set, I rather like it (and do not find Gambit all that interesting, and hate the character too...). But here are the things I can tell you about CT and XP ; hope they help for the next sets. Anyway, thanks for all the work and the passion you obviously put into it.

1) There are some "team" problems in XP. Yes, why no Avenger Beast (he also was a Champion but no one remembers them, eh ? I'd have thought they would be simulated under Defenders, but then Hercules and Black Widow would have a D version...).
And man, I was SO hoping that Sauron would be a Brotherhood !! He has been part of them, and his first appearance was in the same story as the early Brotherhood ; as the X-Men, they could use one more flyer ! And it isn't like there are too many Bros around... Now, to ammend, you HAVE to make X/Bro versions of Polaris... ;-) (and Mastermind !!).

2) Some powers really should count for less then they do. Pulse Wave used to be useless, and now will only be used to click Colossus, Hawk, Dove and Con Artists (Logan ??). The minion of Doom and Superman Enemy teams are VERY powerful, but still most of these guys are way too expensive to be playable : Doomsday and Ultron are good but expensive, Annihilus is a joke, Brainiac is ugly and overcosted, Doom is great but overcosted...

3) The problem with the previous set, and it seems to a lesser extent, this one, is that too many figures are much less interesting than others. For instance : most of the time, Expert Medics will never get played, because one point difference isn't enough for one click of healing. Some figs in CT have very little use (Hawkeye, Black Widow...) in any version, other are way too big, etc. Result ? We end up buying the boosts only for the Uniques, as we already have most of the interesting Nons (who wants all the versions of the Toad and Blob except total Bros maniacs ?) ; and we end up stopping to buy, which isn't good. When I get to choose my tournament price, I pick IC any time, because there are still a few not-too-bad figs I don't have (or that I didn't want at the time and that new power combinations have proved useful in the end).
So please : try to make every version of every character have something which could make it interesting in some type of teams. I am volunteer for playtesting with local playerbase if need be.

4) Sure, you explained yourself on the logic Vs Playability thing. But some combos just stink, variability or not. RS and RCE stink, Superstrength and CCE stink (except with Charge), etc... I'm sure you can find ways of staying logical and still make more playable figs.

5) SOOOO much Perplex !!!! A little is good, but didn't you overdo it a little ? And still so few Outwit (from what we know as of now)... Who isn't tired of seeing Black Panther at most Marvel Tournaments tables ?

Is there any way we could see those formulas for calculating the costs, and help you working on them ? I'm sure it wouldn't hurt...

I was hoping for Rhino, Misterio, Scorpion, Kraven or anyone else from the Syndicate, but no Powerhouse. Outwitter or Perplexer for my favorite team.

The only reason every Con Artist and their mother has perplex is because across the board, Xplosion numbers are average at best. You can guarentee that the perplex you get from Beast and Gambit is going towards the attack values of some of the 9AV X-Men chars on an X-Men team. I'm not complaining about the X-figures we got, I'm actually stoked we got so many popular ones in one expansion.

So the perplex is well stood for, and it makes sense, because the X-Men, in the comics, help out eachother by doing strange things anyway, so the average AVs are made up by the large amount of cheap perplexers...makes sense.

I was waiting at Walter Koenig's autograph table as he was just getting back from his break, and in his hands was a Magic: The Gathering box filled with little Heroclix figures. He said he doesn't play the game, but loves to collect the figures. =)

And the "Desti" figure is Destiny. She was a mutant who worked with Mystique and her Brotherhood of Evil Mutants/Freedom Force team. She could see the future, so it looks like they gave her PC.

The set looks great - the sculpts are dramatically better each set! - in the flesh.. plastic. Although some things worry me (Con artist?), I gues the new prevalence of Perplex will at least lower the use of the undercosted RCE clix from IC.
I do like the way the x-men and Iron man have very average stats, as "creep" seems thankfully absent from this great game (creep = the snowballing effect of sets growing in power).
That said, its a pity that the likes of Iron Man and Gambit won't see competitive play, but if I had to choose, I'll take characterful renditions rather than cost-effetive ones :-)

And hey .. Colossus is a bad ###! :-)

Mandarin’s gonna be a must-play fig for me. 11 attack with Mind-control, 12 range, Outwit, and 3 clicks of damage? 17 defense with Energy Shield AND flight? On his first click? He’s got a power for almost every occasion. The only real weaknesses are that he may not push or react well to damage, and the possibility that your opponent bases a Vet Professor X to him, and successfully rolls a 6 to Mind-Control your 12-range, 11 attack Mind-Control 3-damage Outwit Cannon.

Everyone else also looks VERY nice. This is going to be a fun set.
