"Ok everyone, let's haul out of here. We've got to get to Apocalypse an hour ago." Sabretooth snarled boarding the jet.

As they flew, Mimic did his best to do on the spot repairs. Fixing the window that Deadpool smashed, and various other collatarel damages it experienced from wear.

As they flew, the cockpit was silent. Everyone there had fought Apocalypse before and all knew how dangerous it was, them launching this assault. They were a rogue group of heroes going up against a ruthless dictator. Thoughts crossed their minds; If I survive, will he present me as a test subject to Dark Beast? Sinister? If I die, what will happen on my world? What will happen to this one?

A klaxon goes off in the cockpit. Mimic checks the display panel.

"They've sent a missile at us. They've seen us coming." Mimic said, his skin already steel. He attempts to stand, but a gaping wound in his side brings him back to his seat, as he winces in pain. He's stayed in metallic form to prevent any bleeding, but a lucky shot took a chunk out of Mimic in their battle against Holocaust.

"We'll dodge it!" Creed said, gritting his teeth and transferring the controls to his side as co-pilot.

"No. We can't." Mimic said, standing, letting out a guttural growl as he does. With a flash, he bursts through the newly fixed cockpit windshield, riding the nose of the plane like a surf board, as he unleashes his optic blasts at the incoming projectile. Burst after burst of crimson energy lances toward the missile, all bouncing off what seems to be an energy shield.

"Dammit!" Mimic said, his fingers digging into the hull of the plane, wind whipping through his silver hair. "Creed! Get me Mariko!"

Seconds after Creed gets on the com, Sunfire rushes through the door into the cockpit. "Oh my god, what's going on??" She said, as she was sucked forward into the pilot's seat by the force of wind.

"I need you to shoot me!" Mimic yelled into the cockpit, eyes locking with Mariko's. The look on Calvin's face...Mariko knew this was no time to question him. Gathering up her energies into a tight ball of atomic fire, Sunfire forces herself forward, as she gets right up to the shattered window. Creed grabs her around the waist with a free arm, as Sunfire reaches out with her orb of energy towards Mimic's back...and lets go.

The explosion rocks the front of the craft, the outer hull a flaming mess, as Mimic hurtles forward, the blast accelerating his flight forward as he continues to pelt the missile with concussive force. As Creed veers the plane down to avoid what was to happen next, Mimic collides with the missile fists forward, and a wry snarl on his face. The explosion rocks the plane, sending everyone flying from their seats. Blink, a pang of pain from an unknown source rushes forward to the cockpit Nocturne close behind, having had enough of not knowing what was going on outside. Upon reaching the cockpit, she finds an unconscious Mariko in the pilot's seat, a shattered window and Sabretooth with bone showing through the burns on his face. With a roar Blink knew what had happened, and she stood there, wide eyed in disbelief. Banking the plane hard to the left, they managed to catch a glimpse of Mimic's body, almost undistinguishable from a piece of wreckage, fall from the sky. Drawing a shard from her bag, Blink prepared to throw the projectile, initializing a teleport that could bring her to her falling...partner. As she threw the shard to the ground opening up a blink portal, Nocturne shoves her out of the way and leaps through the portal without saying a word.

"NO!!" Clarice screams, tears flowing in a helpless rage. With a snarl reminiscent of her would be father, she pulls out another shard from her bag.

"Clarice, stop. I think i have an idea of what the elf had planned. She can get him, but we need you now. His barrier is coming up in about 30 seconds, and we need to go!" Creed said, as comforting as you could ever imagine Sabretooth sounding. With a look of determination she looks out the window to Apocalypse's fortress. More missiles shone through the black of the citadel. As they closed Clarice stood there, her teeth grinding, a small trickle of blood coming down from her lip as she chewed on it as she made the decision.

"Punch it!" She said, grabbing the throttle from Sabretooth's hands, jamming it forward and blinking the handle out of existence.

"What?" Sabretooth started, perplexed, as Clarice climbed out to where her lover once stood his ground not seconds ago. "Clarice!" He roared, grabbing her by her belt and trying to yank her back in, as the missiles closed. Struggling to stay on the outside of the plane, resisting Sabretooth's grasp and tears streaming down her facing, then being ripped away by the wind, with a scream she threw her shard into the air in front of them, and then another as she let Sabretooth pull her away as they fell into each other in the cockpit.

The plane and the missiles hurtled towards each other, as purple circles appeared before each. As they came together, colliding with the rings of energy not a foot apart, they were suddenly somewhere else- now behind the missiles and barely a football field away from Apocalypses' citadel!

Wide eyed, in the closest Clarice had ever seen Sabretooth to true fear, Sabretooth grabbed the two women and rushed back to the others. Morph, looking forward through the now open cockpit door, his eyes literally popped out of their sockets, could see through the open window the missiles collide with the citadel's wall, as the group flew their plane straight through the inferno! flames licked the cabin everywhere, as the Exiles shielded their bodies from the blast and desperately held on. As they cleared the flames, they could see the front of their craft sheared off, completely exposing them to the sight below.

Clarice could see that they had just burst into Apocalypse's Chapel, The Church of the Magi. And there stood the might of Apocalypse himself, in the middle of a ceremony. For a split second he and Clarice locked eyes through the smoke and flame, a scowl crossing the Lord Apocalypse's face. Blink shut her eyes tight, as another purple ring appeared in the plane, only to flicker out of existence in front of her. Shocked, Clarice just had enough time to look up to Sabretooth and mouth "I'm sorry." as the plane roared over Apocalypse's head, colliding with the massive statue in his image not far behind it, toppling it into a shattered mess into the far wall, smashing through to hallways and rooms behind it.

As the smoke cleared, a yellow energy appeared, permeating the wreckage of the fallen plane, as the Exiles rose from it, Nathaniel Grey in the middle, lowering his new teammates to the ground before Apocalypse, where the now fallen testament to his power once stood.

Faces of rage met Apocalypse's stone faced glare, as around them several Infinites rushed the group. With a noise that sounded like firecrackers going off, the infinite's fell, and in the dust stood Quicksilver, Son of Magneto!

"Nice entrance. I doubt my father could have done better." He said with a smirk.

With another explosion, this time in the roof above the wreckage, a glowing purple sphere lowered.

The X-Men had arrived! Magneto, Rogue, Weapon X and Jean Grey deftly landed astride the Exiles.

Not bothering with pleasantries, Magneto strode forward, locking eyes with an enraged Apocalypse. Pointing a finger at the monster, Magneto said nothing, his look and demeanor saying everything for him.

With a look mixed with disbelief and rage, his arms and hands forming into weapons of destruction, Apocalypse roared. "KILL THEM! Kill them for your Lord and savior Apocalypse!"

Clarice grinned. "For Mimic," she thought.

BC: FEARLESS ASSAULT (Danger Room #001): Characters get +2 to their speed values when they begin move actions in their starting areas.

Special Rules:
- The BC only applies to the good guys.
- Exiles and X-men start in the bottom starting zone. Apocalypse and the Madri start in the top starting zone. The other bad guys start in the left and right starting zones.
- The four squares in the center of the map is the 'Fount of Rejuvenation'. It has the same ability as the Indigo Lantern- Characters within 4 squares of this object that can use Support or Regeneration only subtract 1 from their die roll instead of 2 when using those powers.
- Duplicates Custom Feat: When V Madrox is dealt damage from an attack, he can place one E Multiple Man in an adjacent square. If an E Multiple Man is dealt damage from an attack, place one R Multiple Men adjacent. If a R Multiple Man is dealt damage from an attack, place one B Jamie Madrox adjacent. Any of the Madri can also take a power action to deal themselves a click and create a duplicate in the same manner.[/i]

"Send in the lower life forms to keep them busy. I do not wish to dirty my hands." rumbled Apocalypse as he approached the fount of rejuvenation.

1) Madrox Prime takes an action to deal 1 damage to himself, producing an E Multiple Man duplicate.

2) Apocalypse moves to L9, grabbing the HO on the way. He carries Madrox Prime with him, dropping him in M9.

2) The E Madrox duplicate moves to N10.

3) Yeti runs into battle moving to O23.

4) Spyne follows close behind, moving to P23.

5) Box moves to P19, picking up a LO on the way and carrying Copycat to O19.

Free) Box perplexes Copycat's defense +1.

6) Arclight moves to G19.

1) Magik, seeing an opening, will Blades on 'Spyne'. Av 7 on DV 15, needs 8. Rolls: 8, with a 4 on the Blades roll. 3 IAP Magick.

2) Sabretooth will follow suit, blades on Wendigo. 10 on DV 17, needs 7. Rolls: 7, Blades 5. 4 IAP Sabes.

3) Magneto will CP his range +1 and RS to L-20 on Apocalypse and E MM. Apoc SC: 4, attack: 8 with KB. Imperv: 4. That's 2 to Apoc who's Knocked Back to L-7.

If you outright KO one, there's still a dupe made...but only one. If it takes you multiple hits, then more than one will be made depending on how many hits they take.

But each time a Dupe is made, a weaker version of Jamie pops out. So once you get him down to a bystander, then no Dupe is made.

It only happens when he's dealt damage from an attack, or he makes a Power action to take a click and make a Dupe. So indirect ways of dealing damage wouldn't create Dupes (Poison, Incap, Mystics, Knockback, etc). Also Pulse Wave ignores all feats including Custom ones. Not sure which of those abilities are available to you though.

Yeah I think that substitute X-man has Incap in the late dial. :)

Rogue has Force Blast too I think.

Good luck KOing the Madrii with them. :)

Wow. Not a single missed attack roll, successful SC, or blades under 4. I thought this scenario was supposed to be difficult. :confused:

Apocalypse turn 2

1) Abyss phases to L19

2) Box will push to fly to J16. He takes a click of damage and drops the LO, then absorbs it to heal 2 clicks.

3) Copycat steps forward a square.

4) Spyne pushes to attack Magick. :a-fist:8 vs :d-normal:14, needs a 6. Roll (6, 1) for a hit, Claws damage is (3).

Free) E Multiple man perplexes Magneto's attack -1.

"Apocalypse! Your reign ends here!" cried Magneto, unleashing a powerful blast of electromagnetic energy that staggered the enormous overlord.

"What impertinence is this?!" Apocalypse spat, the indignity of even a minor wound an affront to his vainglorious godhead ideal. "My servants fail me... as I knew they eventually would."

"Worry not, my lord. Your followers are legion." assured the Madrii, his voice becoming a chorus as he split again, and again, and again...

Apocalypse turn 3

1) Madrox Prime will take an action to make another Duplicate in M8

2) The freshly created E duplicate will also create a R duplicate in N9

Sorry about being distracted before. I got the sorta swamped where I didn't have the brain space for anything. Now I'm swamped in the 'need to get away' fashion, which makes this a lot easier.

1) Blink will TK Magneto to I-19. (Breakaway: 6)

2) Magneto will take 2 tokens to AV to make it 10, and do the double EE thing on the mass of Madri, targeting 5 and 8, and hitting 9, A and C with splash. Needs a solid 6. Rolls 8. Oy, ok. Everyone in that group takes 2. You get a bunch of Bystanders, and a couple R's. Mr. 5 is KOed.

...does Magneto now get 12 IAP? If he does, he'll split it with Blink, making it 6 and 6. I'm gonna need to go through this game again and re tally stats.

3) Sunfire RCE on Multiple Man 7. AV 9 on DV 16, needs 7. Rolls: 9. 4 damage. You get a Bystander.

4) X will flurry on CC. Shape Change: 3. Rolls 6, hits for 2. Next roll is another 5 for the KO.

However, from E16, Magneto's LOF is blocked by another wall between him and Madrox 8. Though you can still target Madrox 5 from there.

(I pray that that doesn't spawn 2 Madri...). A takes w takes 1 and is KOed (5). 8 takes 2 and is KOed (10). 5w takes 2 and is KOed (15). 4w takes 2 and is KBed to M-12 before Madri B stops him. (17). I think you've made a couple of small mistakes regarding all the Madrox clones... E Multiple Man "A" is not KO'ed for example. But I've gone through all the actions of your turn and updated the map and the tracker to the point just after Magneto's attack, adding all the new duplicates.

Also, duplicates are spawned as soon as damage is taken, and knockback is a second source of damage, so it would produce two duplicates from the two hits that the Jamie is taking. I've chosen to produce duplicates in positions that will prevent knockback damage in most cases here.

-"Aw" and "5w", being bystanders, are both KO'ed

Actually thinking about it, knockback damage, I believe, is specifically left out of the feat description.

Duplicates Custom Feat: When V Madrox is dealt damage from an attack, he can place one E Multiple Man in an adjacent square. If an E Multiple Man is dealt damage from an attack, place one R Multiple Men adjacent. If a R Multiple Man is dealt damage from an attack, place one B Jamie Madrox adjacent. Any of the Madri can also take a power action to deal themselves a click and create a duplicate in the same manner.

If you outright KO one, there's still a dupe made...but only one. If it takes you multiple hits, then more than one will be made depending on how many hits they take.

But each time a Dupe is made, a weaker version of Jamie pops out. So once you get him down to a bystander, then no Dupe is made.

It only happens when he's dealt damage from an attack, or he makes a Power action to take a click and make a Dupe. So indirect ways of dealing damage wouldn't create Dupes (Poison, Incap, Mystics, Knockback, etc). Also Pulse Wave ignores all feats including Custom ones. Not sure which of those abilities are available to you though.

Also, a fair point to ask Wakanda who made the feat...there's no mention of 'immediately'. If it was 'Immediately' the dupes would spawn between damage and knockback. If it's anything other than 'immediately' it would happen after the attack action is resolved.

Well right now it is worded as "when dealt damage", which would mean it triggers at the same time as other defensive powers that respond to damage being dealt, like Toughness and Invulnerability, which is definitely before knockback.

I'm not entirely sure who you meant by "Jamie A" for the target of Logan's second flurry attack. There was a E Madrox "A" that was KO'ed by his first attack, and a B Jamie Aw that was KO'ed by Magneto's EE. Since you KO'ed "Jamie A" in one hit I assume you meant one of the Bystanders spawned by Magneto's attack?

The R Spawned by the E's KO will be placed in M10. It is marked with 6w.

R Spawned from Sunfire's attack will be placed in R21, marked with "B" like its progenitor.

Gotta hit while the hittin is good.

1) X-Man push to TK Mags. BA: 4. He's moved to L-15.

2) Mags takes the token to AV, giving him a 9 on 5w and Aw. Rolls: 8. 1 damage to everyone. 8 damage in all. Aw is KOed. Lots of spawn. 10 IAP.

Blink and Sunfire clear.

At this point, I know that I can't KO everything, and that it's about survival. Really, I'm trying to employ as much havok as I can.

I think if Magneto's going to die, dying with 63 IAP is a worthwhile death.

And for a bit of trivia, if one were to assume that a full health duplicate could be re-absorbed by a higher-cost Madrox to count at 1 click of life [that is 2 R Multiple Man figures at full health could become a single E Multiple Man at (2/4)], the mass of Madrox left at the end of the game could re-combine into the V Madrox at (3/5), with a couple Rookies and a Bystander left over.

I dunno, maybe that'll help in your epilogue or if Wakanda decides to use this feat again in the future.

Unless you deal with it exactly right, and have the resources to deal with it exactly right, yes.

If it was -just- the spawning on combat thing, it'd be fine. The self spawn + X-Men TA + V Madrox Mastermind kinda makes it seedy.

Now imagine this feat, and all of them having a kind of Suicide Squad ATA to show the reabsorbing....

I'm not the editor, but I think all the duplicates fall under the cost of the Feat Card attached to the V Madrox. Who you did KO, so you should get points for *him* and the feat, but not for each duplicate spawned and subsequently KOed.

Just my view of things.

Nadda for Morph, TJ or Illyana.

Mimic will take the leap to his V MM 158 pt version with 61 IXP leaving him with 4 IXP 1 IAP and me with 200 TXP 3 TAP.

Blink will jump from E to V, costing her 14 IXP, and leaving her with 2 IAP, and me with 186 TXP 3 TAP.

Sunfire will get to her V version from her LE, costing her a piddly 3 IXP, leaving her with 9 IXP 3 IAP and me with 183 TXP and 3 TAP.

And finally Sabretooth goes from E Universe (40) to R Ultimate (53), skipping E Infinity Callenge (51) with 13 IXP dropping him down to 3 IXP and 3 IAP, and me with 170 TXP and 3 TAP.

Yeah, it's so...appropriate. Whenever they go to a reality, it's 'Hey Mariko, didn't you beat up Moses Magnum that one time? How did you do it? Oh no kidding? Let's try that.'

Hopefully I can unlock keywords for story purposes as well...like if I get stuck with the Morlocks for a 'year' (not a linear year, but...y'know), someone can have the Morlocks keyword etc. Or if we do a flashback story...something.

hmm...yeah, ok. Wouldn't it work like I grab OG Thunderbird for cheap, and upgrade to the custom 175+ monstrosity he would be.

Just gotta work up John into Jimmy and then into Exiles Thunderbird. The progression would be:

V Warpath (Jimmy)

Ideally I need some brains behind my operation...I've got plenty of Leadership, but my real only strategy is to hit them until they fall down. I could really use some Outwit/Perplex action here...

I'd also like someone with a deeper progression maybe? IDK, I'm pretty curious about what I can get here :)

I'd be generally looking in the 25-50 range? Maybe even picking up two figs that way?

Okay I just checked on the rules on your 'random pick-ups'. Just to clarify some stuff:

You need to give me a 10 point range to work with. You can look at options every arc if you like, but you'll only be given 3 per arc (so you can't give me three different '10 pt ranges' and look at 9 character options). You don't have to pick any of them up though if none of them appeal to you. If you have the points for it you can take 2 or even all 3 of the options presented if you wish.

Do you want to go 37-47 point range?

I'm looking for significant appearances of AU Beasts that aren't 'oh, he devolved further into Beastly-ness', or Dark Beast but am having some trouble finding anything. I'm gonna see if I can go through his history, see if I can find anything interesting to give him as a back story.

The one that sticks out to me is the one from Mutant X who had green fur and fin-looking ears. I think personality wise he was actually quite similar to 616 Beast, but he had a cool look.

Yeah, the team is pretty estrogen filled already. Female-Nightcrawler (effectively) and female Sunfire.

Epilogue, written by TheVagrantKing

Hordes of Madri descend upon the assembled force of X-Men and Exiles. The temple is in ruins, carnage everywhere. As the last Exile falls, the woman known as Nocturne sends out a psychic cry for help! Talia Wagner had always had a sometime psychic affinity, though very passive, she always assumed it to be an aspect of her possession ability. Her psychic cry was heard though, by the boy. The boy known as Nate Grey.

Lying very still, his body battered and bruised, the boy closes his eyes and focuses on his telepathy. He reaches out towards the Madri, trying to find a secret to stopping them. He touches upon the mind of one, and sees a golden astral thread stretching from the back of his head. Nate follows the thread, and it leads to another Madri, who has a larger thread coming from him. Nate follows the spiderweb of astral connections and realizes that the entire group must be connected at a single point. He races through the Madri, until he finds the largest thread. He chases it down through the citadel through walls and hallways until he reaches a room deep within the bowels of the temple.

The room is crudely decorated, child like drawings adorn the walls as a man whimpers and sobs on the floor, clearly in great pain. This was Madri Prime. This was the man known as Jamie Madrox. Apocalypse had damaged his mind so severely the man had regressed to the state of a child, making his duplicates more docile and susceptible to being controlled. Nate Grey's astral form kneels down beside the man, putting an ethereal hand on his shoulder, taking measure of the psychic agony Madrox was going through. Each duplicate stretched his psyche, to the point of ripping and tearing, but it would never come apart thanks to the manipulations of Apocalypse and his minions. Closing his eyes, Nate Grey reached down to the golden thread, and wrapped his fingers around it. With a self reassuring nod, Nate Grey rips the cord from the head of this Madri, and Jamie Madrox screams.

He screams until his lungs are out of air, his voice scratching like a record, his back arched into the air, until he falls back, breathing heavily, his chest heaving up and down. A flicker of a smile crosses his mouth, and Jamie Madrox closes his eyes.

In the main antechamber, the Madri freeze, and collapse into a heap, the floor now coated in a carpet of super beings. Nate Grey finds his way back, psychicly scanning for his friends and allies. He finds Sabretooth first, then Weapon X. Once conscious the two savage warriors recover quickly and begin to dig through the piles of Madri for the Exiles and X-Men. At last, the Morph, the last to find, is found. Squished flat under the massive weight of dozens of bodies. The group is silent for a long while, just trying to process what had happened. Morph, unsurprisingly, is the first to speak.

"Well how the #### are we supposed to get back now, huh Cal?" He said, obviously joking. "You just HAD to ram the plane right up Apocalypse's keister, didn't you?"

The group chuckled, but the silence had not completely passed. Blink, taking Morph's cue, gestures towards the group to stand together, and a pink circle appears around them. With a *BLINK*, the group was gone, and with another *BLINK* the group had reappeared under the ruins of the Westchseter estate, once belonging to the man known as Charles Xavier.

"Daddy!" Came a cry, as the boy Charles sees his father and mother appear and rushes towards them. Magneto drops to a knee and wraps the boy up in his arms, tears freely rolling down his face. Rogue kneels down next to them and wraps the two in an embrace as well. The Exiles stand back, broken and bloody, and smile at a job well done.

Suddenly, the Tallus sparks to life. Blink looks at the group wide eyed, then at Sabretooth. Looking down at her, his eyes widen as well. "Aw, cripes, already? You just came back to us!" He says with a snarl, and Magneto looks up at the group, and nods in acknowledgment.

"Mr. Cre-", Blink starts.

"I'm telling you, it isn't fair! We need you here! You tell this Time Banker guy to get his ### down here and tell me to my face why you have to leave now!" He roars, interrupting her.

"Mr. Cre-"

"I'll tear his cosmic ### a new one, let me tell you! No way in hell is he taking Clarice away this soo-" *BLINK*

"-n..." Creed finishes, looking around. "Aw cripes..."
