Favorite Xplosion Figure?

Now that they've debuted at Megacon, who is your favorite(s)?

I think Iceman looks awesome, but in terms of play, I'm excited for Elektra and Madarin. They both seem to have diverse uses. Also, the Hand seem to be really useful for generics.

From what I've seen?

Destiny.

The first figure that's pretty much a pure Non-Combatant. And I like that a lot.. ..I feel it add's a Ton of flavour to her figure. Prob. Control is always nice. Super Sences keeps her alive that much longer.. ..and being Brotherhood. She will simple Never take up one of your actions.

Don't expect anyone to agree. But don't expect me to care.:D

Plus I need her to finish up my core Freedom Force team. So anyone with a set out there.. ..give me a ring, let me know what you want for 'er. ;)

I can see myself getting a lot of use out of V Doc Samson. I like to use She-Hulk quite often, and Samson does much of what Shulkie does.

He startes with Invulnerability, a 10 attack, 10 speed with Charge and 4 damage with Perplex. This gives him 7 damage with a heavy object on his first action. No other model (of the ones I've seen from Xplosion) starts out doing 5 damage in close combat without using CCE.

And he's 8 points less than E Shulkie. Good buy.

Taskmaster is a big menace. Colour all over that dial at a very low cost.

Let me preface this by saying I'm really excited about a LOT of the figures in this set. The ones I'm most excited about right now are:

1. Daredevil - new and improved with Leap/Climb
2. Unique Spidey - A 79 point Spidey with lots of good powers, sign me up.
3. Shadowcat - Cheap taxi who can go anywhere and has Supersenses to save her if she gets attacked. I sense she'll be carrying Logan around a lot.

Also very happy about the Hand Ninjas!

IceMan is going to be a HOT figure ! and Gambit too.

hopefully Apocolypse won't be the "nightcrawler" of the set !! i don't want to have to result to paying $30+ for a heroclix unique !! Luckily i pulled my Nightcrawler out of a booster. Hope i'm just as lucky when XP comes out !!??!!

I just have to go with Shadowcat. Not only is she one of my favorite characters, but she can fly, phase AND is hard to kill. She's totally replacing E Invisible Girl as my mid-range taxi.

Taskmaster is a close second though, a great selection of abilties, and my lovely Doom Minion team abilties.

I haven't seen his fig yet, does anyone know if he's the badass "Udon" design or the lameass "Skeletor" design yet?

My faves:

For fun play definately Spidey and the Hulk, both seem very well represented. ;)

For competitive gameplay I'd go with Mystique and Mandarin, both should add a lot to the current metagame (along with Psylocke and Doc Samson) but these two fit my playing style more.

And the "new" character I just gotta get my hands on is Iron Man, simply because... ;)

the best fig made (included stats) from Xplosion is Destiny !!

i think "ultimate" means its based on the ultimate series of marvel comics... blah!

the ultimate series are like comics for beginners... it really isn't part of the marvel universe, its designed for those who are just getting introduced to comics.

but the ultimate story line is only loosely based on the real marvel universe... for instance, in the ultimates juggernaut is part of weapon X program and colossus takes down thor easy in a fight and captain america actually plays dirty and uses a gun to shoot without warning and iceman is really iceboy.

Silver Samurai is decent which makes me happy.
Colossus is still a bit of an unknown but I like what I see (side note: dependant on his veteran stats I may transplant him to juggernauts base)
the Hand definately like these little guys!
Crimson Dynamo looks good to...and I'll probably be seeking him out before iron man....not a fan of the suit they have him in...petty but what can ya do ;)

Mandarin because, well, because he's Mandarin and his fig also looks cool. And the number 1 fig I'm looking forward to using in combat, and seeing the sculpt is.... Sauron. have you all checked his stats in the warriors section? man, I'm speechless

Just saw him on eBay and it's the pathetic Udon hockey player redesign. I feel so dissappointed now. Classic Taskmaster looks awesome with the cape and mask and everything and this just looks.... awful.

I don't usually mod figures due to lack of talent in that area but I'm seriously considering ripping this joke off the otherwise amazing dial and putting a custom 'old skool' Tasky on there.

Thirty-four points and you get STEALTH and PERPLEX on the same spot in the dial, not to mention a six square range. This girl is DEFINITELY gonna find a place next to BP, FL, Wasp and SW as one of the most abused tournement figures out there. Much like BP, though, quite a debate will arise over whether the rookie or experienced version is better (due to the experienced version's slightly higher attack value).

The Con Artist is gonna be the second most-abused figure in the set. Unlike Hawk/Dove/Collossus/whomever, it doesn't take an action to use that perplex so you only have to wait two turns to make it useful, as opposed to four.

Silver Samurai's 11 AV is awesome, but I don't think he'll quite replace Unique Elektra since she has stealth and range.

I know this thread has nothing to do with what I'm about to say, but please don't say that the Ultimate line is for beginners. Thousands of older fans are reading the books because they want to be free of 35 years of confusing soap opera plots (and in some cases the books work because they play off of established expectations). The Ultimates is one of the best books in the industry right now. Critics and fans alike agree on that. No, it's not your Avengers. But that's okay. You have a choice. Just don't dog other people for their choices.

And "real" marvel universe? They are ALL made up stories.

I'm not attempting to start a riot here, but don't put those top-selling books down just because they don't fit into the regular marvel universe.

I agree, I think that if people look at them as long-term "What If?" or "Elseworlds" stories instead of comics "supplanting" current Marvel continuity then they wouldn't make such a big fuss over the books. ;)

The favorite:

V Storm - amazing sculpt, awesome beginning stats, only 51pts, one more flier to add to X-Men...need I say more?

Then comes the rest of the X-Men and X-Related characters, which is a given since I'm a huge X-Men nut (we finally get more fliers this time around which is sweet, especially with the cheap usefullness of shadowcat and Iceman. Plus the x-villains are simply irresistable, Deathbird, Apocalypse, and Sauron all in the same set, not to mention they all fly???sweetness.)

V Mandarin - nuff said, the figure is absolutely amazing, and I'm really liking this 12 range thing that they are starting, excellent Firelord bashers. MC with a 12 range and 11 attack??? bye bye firelord...(put him 1 from both sides of the building on outdoor map, and mc firelord to kill his medics...muhahahaha, and he can't hit you unless he moves into range, and that takes up an action...even more muahahahahaha, I WILL buy a V Mandarin off Ebay if necessary, if i dont get one in a booster)
