X2 question

ok, i thought pyro had the ability to manipulate fire, not create it. in the first x-men movie that was accuratley shown by him using a zippo (though storm did call him john). yet in the new trailor for X-2, he's throwing flame around like in the comics, yet he has not jets attached to his wrists. so my question is, did he gain some kind of second mutation while i've been out of the comic loop, or is this just more director's artistic views like the #### organic web shooters? i'll leave you all to talk amongst yourselves about this.

Yeah, movies don't really follow comic books..

But.. if you'd like to be technical..

Age of Apoc. Pyro had the ability to generate his own fire.. (Though it burned him in doing so.)

And..

The main stream Pyro, near the time of his death, developed the ability to create his own flame as well. (This is very likely to be a result from the Legacy virus which he was a victom of.)

Actually, in the first Xmen movie it was, in fact, Johnny Storm who was at the school showing off. Apparently the writer didn't know the difference between mutants and other super powered beings. He also didn't know anything about Sabretooth... but I digress. Pyro isn't named John and, as you will see, he won't be the same actor either.

I do find it funny that they threw Johnny Storm and Iceman into the movie together like that, as I remember them having some interesting team-ups in some comics.

Actually Pyro's name is John.. well.. kinda. ..it's St. John. ..but everyone called him John.

And everything thing I've read, and seen, said that was supposed to be Pyro. (Which makes sense.)

But yeah, I knew they were changing actors, which is kinda.. "Eh." ..I loved the first movie, I'll love the Second.. ..but I know it can only last so long.. because of the actors. Their they will need to switch others, or just stop making the movies.

I wouldn't doubt if a few actors were willing to stick around.. but *shrug* all of them? ..doubtful.

Anyways.. I'm done rambling..heh.

Allow me to shed a little light on this.

Pyro's name is john allerdyce.

When you see him manipulating that fire, he's manipulating it, he cant create it. HE either has a lighter in his hand or the fire is pre-existing.

In the trailers and previews I've seen, I can't actually tell how Pyro is lighting up all those cars. For all I know, he is holding a lighter and a can of Raid and making a really big flamethrower with them. I'll defer my judgement until the movie actually comes out and I get to see the whole thing.

Wait till the movie comes out, Pyro could very well have a lighter or match or something in his hand when he blows up the cop's cars (I'm assuming thats the scene your talking about). There could also be some source of fire in or around the car (I'm sorry, I don't know THAT much about Pyro, if he has to be in contact with the flame this wouldn't work).
