View Full Version : What would be a fair trade for Cosmic Spider-man?

I just traded for a cosmic spider-man today. The deal is still negotiable just in case we are a little off in fairness. So the question i want to ask is if the HCrealms masses could 1.say if the trade was fair, and 2. suggest ways to make it fair.

So the trade i gave to get the Cosmic Spider-man was
WoS Bullseye (He really wanted it. Primary want of his)
BB Batman and Green Arrow
BB Black Flash

Another note i want to throw in is i do not direly want a Cosmic Spider-man because he does not fit my play style and point requirements etc. The only reason i would get him is for trade fodder. Due to me being newish i thought the best way to make sure of everything would be to check here on the Realms. So HC masses what do you think?

Well I traded for mine at my venue. Gave a Red She-Hulk and JL Doomsday for him. Personally I think that if you consider it a fair trade (I wanted Cosmic Spidey because i'm a spiderman fan and the person I traded with really wanted Doomsday) then it's a fair trade.

Price comes into it a little bit (No matter how much you want a piece, it's not too fair if the one you want is worth $2 and the one you're giving up is worth $70) but I personally think that how much you want a figure counts just as much. But that's just me lol.

you got a great deal--those other figures can be had on the secondary market for under 20 bucks.

You're getting Cosmic Spidey for a steal.

Like, if I saw this going on from my car I would call the cops and report a case of highway robbery.

It depends on whether or not you and the other trader are happy with your trades. I traded some of the higher end super-rares in this set for lower end ones (an extra Red Hulk for Red She Hulk, for example) because I wanted the other super-rare and usually don't mind trading SR for SR. So long as I get the pieces I wanted out of this set, I'm happy.

I posted this somewhere else:

Back on track, value is open to interpretation. Sure there are set values, but to only trade Uniques for SR's or Rookies to Commons doesn't necessarily equate equal trade. If you can walk away from a deal without deliberately trying to shenanigan someone, and you're both happy, then it's a fair trade.

You guys were both happy with that deal so why ask for other opinions? If one of you really felt you were fleecing the other, then toss in something to balance it out. In this case that sounds like it wasn't the case so you both got what you wanted out of the deal which is the whole point to trading in the first place.

In terms of rarity level it's a even fair trade in general. But you also want to look at price-value as well. In terms of price-value it far below a fair trade, so overall the person you traded with shouldn't have made the trade with you, unless you added a lot more heroclix in the trade, sorry to say, but that is the case. You made out like a bandit, you got a great deal!

This is better for the sub-forums on trading.

Value is subjective. I made an offer that included 6 maps. If each map is bought at $3 a map, then that's $18. Some value maps at $0. Unfortunately they don't mail for $0.

I've seen Cosmic Spidey going for around $50-$60. I would not value him that high because I'd rather have $50 in my pocket than a CSM in my box.

The deal you are sharing strikes me as lop-sided which makes me think of 2 things:

A) Too good to be true - its a scam just to get you to "send first" so they can rip you off.

B) Its a deal you both can live with and this CSM person is really desperate to get those items you are offering.

I hope its more B than A. Just beware - most scammers offer deals that are too good to be true.

This Cosmic Spider-man trade was in store. There is no mailing involved in this case.

If you're both happy, then it's a fair trade. End of story.

Ah. In person trades are the easiest and frequently are more "lop-sided" due to convenience.

I've heard of lots of people trading for whatever because they have no other avenue to get what they want. If you were both happy then move on. If he is a fellow player, next time you have extra of something he needs, just give it to him.

A friend of mine just gave me a Chase Thorbuster after he opened his second god-pack. Thats a better deal than yours... :p

If you both are happy, then the trade is fair. However, if you have any doubles you can't get rid of, I'd throw them in as a "bonus." A little good karma never hurt anybody.

Trade value is completely subjective and always variable. One SR is not necessarily equal to another and playability definitely comes in to question.
Usually I only trade within the same set to keep things simple.

IMO Cosmic Spidey (and any of the other WoS "chase" figs for that matter) are worth at least 2 WoS SRs so you got a good deal. All Rares are practically worthless and BatB SRs aren't worth the plastic they're made from.

Monetarily, you got a steal of a deal. But if you were both happy with the deal then good for both of you. When WoS was released, I traded a Bullseye for an Iron Man/War Machine. I noted that it was an expensive SR for a R, but he wanted Bullseye.

Thanks for all the comments and support. I will take all advice to heart and talk to this guy i traded with and correct any trade error. He is a little impaired and i thought i gave a fair trade, now that i know i have not i will correct it and give him some more pieces he wants to even out the trade. I don't take pride in cheating someone so i will fix it next time i see him.

I had someone offer me a Kal-L for the GA/GL and Flash/GL duos...
I decided to throw in Poison Ivy/Harley Quinn, Blue Beetle/Booster Gold and a Red Lantern 3D object. I do not like to rip ANYONE off. Also, pulled 3 Cosmic Spideys, traded 2 of them: one for Deadpool strait-up and the other for Spider-Hulk strait-up. No regrets whatsoever.

This is sooo true.
But playability doesn't always factor into it.

Examples;
.I wouldn't trade you anything for a Superman Prime. I don't like the character in the books & I don't like the sculpt. I don't want him.
.I value ($) my clix differently than most.
If it's coming out of my play boxes? (wich is very rare) You'll pay/trade a premium for it. Doesn't matter if it's a poo common or a chase.
But if it's something that's sitting in my extras box? It's monetary value is $1.58 to me. As a result I'm not shy about throwing great deals at people. 1 figure I'll use is worth alot more than something sitting in a box in my basement.....

Yup. Rep to you. I wish more people are like you.... most would rip people off and just keep quiet.

I don't think I saw this mentioned, but just keep your friend in mind next time there's a piece he wants. This time around you got the good deal, so next time you won't feel bad if the trade is skewed in his favor.
My friends give each other flak for trades all the time, half of them trade nearly strictly by price, the other half are more into what they like or what they'll use.
Friends are friends, glad you're a good one.
