I had tons of fun with this team. I think it was a real pain in the a$$ for my opponents.
Sadly I don't feel that it was really all that great of a figure. I'm not as impressed with him as I was thinking he would be. It was a pain for my opponent to get to him, but I didn't feel that he was dishing out as much damage as he possible could have.
I did use the enhancement as much as possible so it was 6 each turn that could see through anything, so it wasn't too bad. I guess the ability to hit anything in 10 range is quite good.
I never used Hypersonic but went instead for the 10 range slowly move up to hit things.

a 600 point team based around 1 fig? Thats an aweful lot of eggs in 1 basket.
Granted you did what you could I can't imagine that working out too well.

My opponent had Dr. Manhattan & Cosmic Spidey and few extras for an 800 pt. battle. I arrived late, and threw together a last minute team of newer x-men and Thunderbolts figs. Prof X w/ mental shields ruled the day. I had Shield TA around him, plus perplex and began mind controlling Dr. Manhattan to hit Spidey, and it worked. I had them hit each other a total of 6 times in the game. Plus, I had Nightcrawler, Psy Blast w/ Moonstone and Marvel Girl, plus Bullseye and Storm and Songbird. I thought I'd be torn apart, but I had too much firepower for him to deal with. Plus, once I was in range, Marvel Girl and Songbird took turns barriering Dr.Manhattan, so he could not attack me, he could only phase out of it, but he had nowhere to hide. Too much RS and Psy blast and Mind Control.

This may sound odd, but I think that Cosmic Spidey is a 300+ point "finesse" piece. Compared to the other 300+ point figures in the game, you really need to be a lot more careful with Spidey because he's only 8 clicks long.

Dude, you barriered every turn. You used nigma to get csm to go every turn. Any time he got hurt, you healed him with atom immediately. You played to win, but you didn't play the piece. You could have replaced him with superman, darkseid, hell anybody with high damage and some kinda stealth busting ability. You were shooting for 6 damage EVERY TURN, and you're underwhelmed by the figure? I hate to say it, man, but you didn't really play the piece, you played the strategy. It won, for sure, and made everyone apathetic to the pain in the crapper it was. But if he never got hurt enough to see the rest of his dial then of course you're not going to see what he was like for complete damage output, but really? 6 damage every turn wasn't enough for you? From anywhere and able to hit almost any figure that didn't roll out of it? I'm not trying to criticize you man, so I hope you don't get that impression. Just pointing out that you may want to reconsider the mean ### team you had and how you played the figure on it.

Was hoping one of my opponents would see this and be able to tell the other side of the board story. I could have run him up and started hitting pieces with the hypersonic instead of the barrier. When I run him next my plan is to not use the scarlet witches as honestly they felt more like huge targets and only there to prob the hits on them which when bullseye or deadpool were taking shots only needing to roll a three twice seemed almost worthless to even prob them.
And no I am not offended by your comments. I had a plan to run him like I did and it worked out just fine with the double barrier. One thing that I think you did correct was instead of focus on CSM you tried to get the support first which was good. The whole Edward nigma was just overkill I think for him. I see the piece like Thor Loki and it being 362 and they can dish out 16 possible each turn if you get four perplex or four enhancements and yes I do feel a little underwhelmed by him. As others have said he is just a finesse piece.
I will say that I did attempt to cover all bases both with having the atom to heal against mystics team abuse and having my own mystic to WC him too. I can see how frustrating it is to play against him is though.

Wow... Mystics cheese on top of prob, support and one of the cheesiest pieces out there? Ouch! I can see this as a one time "fun" (for you) team, but I really hope you don't do this all the time. Thats just... Harsh. Still, interesting team, in a OMG WTF is that? type of way. :>

As I scrolled down the page, it was like watching Saw- with Reklawyad as Jigsaw, and his opponents as his victims.
'Oh, Nigma. That's pretty helpful'.
'Hmm...the Atom. Well, I guess CSM might get hurt, so you want to heal him sometimes...'
'Scarlet Witch??? Well, you might need a barrier once in a...TWO SCARLET WITCHES?!?!?
JASON BLOOD- AND THE ENHANCING DOOMBOT!!! OH MY GOD, THE HUMANITY-THE BLOODSHED- THE HORROR!!!

OP: Were U trying to win a freaking Galactus or what?
lol
I'm still trying to figure out how Modern Age is supposed to be better now without feats to counter this type of cheese?
At least he didn't add Nightcrawler. Other than that, this team is not only cheesy, but should be no fun for either player.
This is one of the reason I try to keep to only 1 of a non-generic, non-multiple figure and do not mix DC and Marvel.

Hear hear! I don't always make teams that are 100% comic accurate, but I try to at least stay in the right universe and keep the clones/time travel/alternate reality to a min (no multiples thank you). To me this makes the game more enjoyable for everyone. I can win by playing the uber cheese. Its not that hard, and I just feel alittle empty afterward... However even if I lose with my warriors three and sif mabey a heimdal, or a nice Avengers line up, I feel really good about things. Just me though.

I did a game with my judge using cosmic. My judge kept claiming that he would be easy to beat and all you needed was ... pieces. So I called him on it, 500pts. He fielded E2 sups, nightcrawler, and HoT cap and 3 protected. I used Cosmic(protected), nightcrawler, and ff wolverine(auto regen). I killed his support first while trying to avoid E2 sups. It was a long game of positioning and bad roles on the judges part. In the end cosmic and my nightcrawler won the fight.

No need to add in Nightcrawler, CSM can see through all anyway.
It was the first chance that I've had to play CSM, and lets face it there is no way without having a min of 800 point build for theme Cosmic.
I don't need any of the figures from the WoS Prize Kit, I just wanted to play.
I will definitely play CSM again, and might try and find other ways around how to use him. Thanks for everyone's comments.

I don't really see anything wrong with playing CSM myself. However, I do not think that he needs to be cheesed out. He is uber good on his own so adding things like mystics prob and support is just a poke in the eye. Still if thats what you want to play thats your right. If you do play him again though, try something alittle more restrained and see how it goes. I myself want to try him out with Kid Zoom, alittle self handicap. I think it would be SUPER interesting to see if my opponent ignored the little annoyance piece or KOed him first thing, thereby giving me access to the full powers of CSM!!! Hehe.

Even the Mystics is (somewhat) bearable, it's the double Barrier....uggghhhhhh :ermm:
I played my CSM the other day too, in a 1,000 point game, no feats allowed. This was my team:
Cosmic Spidey 319
Iron Patriot 150 (469)
Noh-Varr 141 (610)
Victor Mancha 96 (706)
WoS Nightcrawler 86 (792)
WoS Mysterio 75 (867)
Vector 68 (935)
WoS Black Cat 52 (987)
I wanted to try out a bunch of WoS figures. I parked Spidey on the edge (not the center) of elevated terrain, and that was that. He stood there and fired at anyone that got with-in 10 squares.
He was 'good', but not insanely so. The 4 Damage mitigates his other attributes IMO.

There's a lot of talk about playing him on the Prison Map. I played against him on the Prison Map and beat him using Asgardians in a 500 point game. The problem with that map is that he can get boxed in. If you really want to be a pain in the pooper for your opponents, play him on the Anti-Monitor's Fortress.

I protest sir, I protest! How dare you bring that up? Poor form sir, poor form. :>
On a side note, and the other side of the equasion as well, the Doom Castle map with the special barrier rules makes him much less usefull, as even he can't shoot through them. So if you see an opponent with him and that map is around...
I notice you never mentioned how many rounds you won...:cheeky: :tired:
He won all 3 rounds.
I'm the Judge for the Venue and was his opponent in the finals.
I brought Martial Artists.
Deadpool
Bullseye
Nightcrawler
Batgirl with League of Assassins
Ironfist
Human Elektra
I felt the CSM, by itself wasn't overpowering. But with Nigma, 2 probs, 2 enhancements, etc... it was a brilliant team and something I'd not want to face often.

And honestly I will run CSM again but not in that exact same team setup. The barrier every turn was quite nasty for my opponent, no matter that I did not get to choose the map, it was nasty.
I did win all three games like Topdog said. Match one was against a Thunderbolts team that was Green Goblin, Norman Osborne, Bullseye, Venom, Songbird, Moonstone, Swarm. He chose Mystics as his thunderbolts team. Venom bit it early taking Six from Cosmic Spidey and then 3 from Doombot. The mystics did slow CSM down a bit, but atom getting a five for his support roll on him returned the web-crawler to full.
There were quite a few times that I know my opponent had to really think what to do, and we both discovered that Green Goblin gets Earthbound near the end of the dial.
Second round was against a Dark Avengers ish team(he had to break theme at the last second) It was Daken LE, Noh-Varr, Iron-Patriot, Bullseye, Venom LE, and some others I can't seem to remember right now. I went into total defensive mode and did more barrier this round.
Third Round was against Topdog with his team mentioned above. It was on the Arkham Map and he went after the support. I got a quick shot on Nightcrawler at the start(who was the only one in LoF) and he missed both SC and SS to take six(nightcrawler did a permanent bamf inside the jokers jail cell)
That's my little recap of the game. I wish I could have tried it out on the other two teams that were there that day just to see if it would have had had the same result. The sad part is that as someone else has already said, I thought about running the kidzoom on my team as well just to gimp my opponents as well because I figured I wouldn't be running him with the Hypersonic.
