If you look in the top corner of the pics of explosion your see a U fig named Death.....something? It cant be touched. 2 damage with RCE 8 range. Blades claws and running shot and eng shi def. THATS JUST NUTS. Now i dont know what the stats look like down the dail but still it only cost 70 pts compared to V firlords 98.

Firelord is no longer the cheese of the game.

yes....and no....

she does have some very nice stats for a very low price...
but what draws compaints about Firelord, she doesn't have...


no 5 damage
no super low 10 defense at the end of the dial (easy to heal)
no 12 attack rating...

she's good...but it takes more than what she's got to take over Firelords place in the Most complained about category

but she is an absolutly lethal "first wave" taxi.

In 200pt, she taxis Vet Firelord, and you can still get 2 Medics, or a Medic and a Perplexer...

Ouch.

Even Rookie Firelord is more complainable than this fig. Running Shot w/RCE character are not 'borken,' they're versatile. 4 damage is lower than 5 damage. And again, even Rookie Firelord has a higher attack stat.

I have to say Deathbird looks quite interesting (yay for versatile figs) but hardly sets off the cheesometer.

Deathbird is nowhere near as top heavy nor has the staying power that spootlord possesses. I don't see her as being a problem fig at all.

She's very versatile, but her powers sure as heck don't complement each other. I'm sure that 90% of the time her B/C/F won't be used since you can get a "sure 4" even in close combat thanks to her RCE (as compared to the 1-6 lotto that is BCF).

Again RS, RCE, and BCF can never be used together. Those are 3 of her starting powers. She's good, but nowhere near "borken."

I for one, like Deathbird, though, I'm not sure how I would use her... In the comics, she's more prone to go medieval on some hand to hand, than just trying to pick them off long range

One thing which will keep her from becoming a new firelord is her Unique status. You will only be able to field ONE of her on a team, as opposed to facing multiple FLs. IMO having one FL on ateam isn't all that cheesy, it's facing all those multiple FL teams out there which gets people's panties all tied up.

Yeah, fair point PMMJ.

However, we play 1,000 point most of the time, although tourneys are still 200 or 300.

I think the team I sugested for 200 point above would have a good chance. For 300, just add...Abomination.
