Dear Wizkids, Love your game, your communication skills not so much

Dear NECA/Wizkids,

I come to you saying please improve your communication with your players. I've been a big advocate for updating your www.heroclix.com website as well as improving the information on it. So far I'm seeing reports that the release of Batman Alpha 2.0(Battle Packs) has hit some stores but you haven't even made it official.

Please keep in mind I have no idea how many people you have working for you in this department, maybe they are swamped with getting things worked out for cons I really don't know. Just let us know something of what's going on. Maybe then we can sympathize with the cause.

I know some of you will probably just say "well at least they've done some updates" well in this day and age with online communities and the access of information at our fingertips, it's a shame to keep us in the dark and have so much outdated information.

It's really hard for me to even try to advocate for you guys in stores with new people when I can't even say yeah go check out www.heroclix.com it will have everything you need. I'm embarrassed to even direct them there. How can I tell people who watch us play games "Oh BTW the company that makes this is Great, but I don't even know when the next major release will come out is."

Just saying please get some staff meetings or whatever you guys do together discuss this and get someone working on this. I'm not saying you guys need to update us every day to the status, that would be overkill. I believe having a little just checking in session maybe every week or two would be nice.

To the OP's point - I just learned about the Batman Mega Packs this morning. Would've been nice to get more information from the source.

I agree with the sentiment. I think a release schedule on the front page of heroclix.com with current/upcoming releases (including things like the battle packs, which aren't easy to find) would go a long way. I would also recommend a "How To Play" link on the front page that could even take you to the downloads section, as long as the rules were prominently displayed there.

As much as I love Heroclix a part me deep down has to agree with the sentiments made here. I am new to HCRealms but as it relates to this thread I found this site because the current Heroclix.com was so weak as a resource. The old site used to be updated almost daily with information, even fun little articles about scenario ideas. I used to be a judge and I visited the site constantly. One thing that I used to enjoy on the old site was looking at the images/dials. HCRealms has more images than the current Heroclix.com. I praise Neca/Wizkids for keeping the dream alive, but like reklawyad said, "in this day and age with online communities and the access of information at our fingertips, it's a shame to keep us in the dark and have so much outdated information." I've even gone as far as trying to check the Neca and Wizkids sites for information related to where they are or if they are hiring (but there is nothing there). I certainly hope that the activity (or lack thereof) on the site is not a sign of problems, because I think as a community we would do everything in our power to keep heroclix going.

I also worry from time to time if they cannot update just heroclix.com with jet a quick how do you do that there also could be problems. Again I hope I'm entirely wrong in this but it does scare me that things have slowed down with the release of information. I just got back in and hope they are here to stay for quite a few more years.

We as a community would be willing to donate time to help with the upkeep of things. I know I would love to be able to do reviews of upcoming figures and sets ahead of time and write about aspects of it.

I can only hope this is read by someone who has the power to make some of these changes or contact someone higher up on the food chain to say hey you should really read this post about how people see us right now.
