from judge Craig Knight:
Fellow Clixer,
This Sun, Oct. 10th at 2:30 pm at the Game Empire -
Pasadena, a Silver Age HeroClix "Fantastical Foursomes" 400 point
Tournament! Here are the Build/Tournament Rules:
1) Your team must be of exactly 4 HeroClix Figures who share a
Non-Generic Keyword. You can use Duo's, but they count as 2 Figures. For
the purpose of this Tournament, Archangel, Fantomex & Vet Psylocke from
Armor Wars have the X-Force Keyword.
2) Your team will have a Base of 2 Actions per turn instead of 4.
3) Silver Age, so any figures from any HeroClix set can be played.
Objects & Alternate Team Abilities (ATAs) are legal. All Feats,
Battlefield Conditions (BFCs) & Bystander Tokens (BST) are not legal.
4) Highlander Rules will be in effect. So figures cannot be used with
the same name unless they are considered "Generics"(e.g. the rank & file
Checkmate Knights or S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent/Sniper, etc) or if they have
the same name, but are different characters(e.g. Green Lantern, Hal
Jordan & Green Lantern, Kyle Rayner).
No Entry Fee & Prizes will be the Daken LE for Championship and
Fellowship!
This event will be held at the best game store in Los Angeles:
Game Empire Pasadena
2302 E. Colorado Blvd
Pasadena, CA 91107

Please tell any current or former HeroClix players you know about our

Yes, THAT is my kind of tournament--non-generic keywords. HeroClix in its purest form, in my opinion. Well done, Craig, and thanks Roel for posting. Hope to see everyone there. Lyle

I'd show up for tomorrow, but it's literally impossible for me to make a team like that! (At least a competitive one). Just got into the game last month so my collection is lacking.
I might show up and buy a booster and hope for some lucky pulls, though I'll probably just wait for next week.

Just come to have fun and get some playing experience. It doesn't hurt to play, make mistakes, and learn... for free!

Have you bought the Fantastic Four starter set? The Fantastic Four are a very competitive, non-generic theme, 400 point team with four figures. If you haven't bought it, Game Empire has some for sale. It's a good investment. It has great, must-have figures (particularly Thing and Mr. Fantastic) and a large double-sided map.
If you don't want to spend the money, I agree with Roel--bring the team you think isn't very good and come play anyway. As a new player, you should focus on learning the rules and the figures. Winning will come later.

do you get commission for selling those starters? just kidding. Lyle has a great point. The Fantastic Four starter is perfect for this one and a formidable team at that.

You can use my team if there is an even amount of players. It's pretty good! Somebody should play it if I can't!

Ha, wow, thanks everyone for the support! I was thinking about the Fantastic 4 starter but I had some money saving issues this week, oh well.
I'll definitely try and make it next time though, regardless of team! With such nice people it should be fun.

10-10-10 Winning teams:
1st Place:
Avengers Theme Team
WS Iron Man/War Machine
HA Captain America
IC R Black Panther
2nd Place
Avengers Theme Team
WS Iron Man/War Machine
CM Sersi
IC E Quicksilver
I'm pretty sure I had 2nd place in points... this 2nd place business is starting to become a habit... grrr... lol
Joe, glad you could make it.
Lyle, I thought you were going to be there. A hot date with another supermodel, no doubt huh?
Anyway, per Craig, next week's tournament will have a "bring the worst team" format where you switch teams with your opponent. Should be cool! More details later.

Sorry, wasn't able to make it up this week. Unfortunately, no supermodel, either! Too bad, I'm sure my JLI team starring Martian Manhunter would have made short work of IMWM. Lucky for them.
I put together a formidable team and had tons of fun with everybody!! I honestly cant wait to get stomped and "learned" again. I ts extremely cool to have someone step up and put some team building guidelines into place. next week sounds ####in sick if we play the rules stated at wrap up today.
Mike, your team was tight!! i love a great DC villian!!
@vwshark you coming next sunday??? I'll let you play my team!!!
Finally a format where IM/WM is good! I wish I could have made it, too. I just would have played the FF (starter). No fuss, no worries.

Yes, that explains why there were three of us with IM/WM, lol.
I'm glad to have been able to use it because I will probably never use it again. And I almost was not able to use All-Out Assault... got to use it against Justin in the last game where it also got used against me... that was fun.
I think Jim played FF starter and Justin witnessed a pulse wave that ended up doing 3 damage each to 3 or 4 people including one teammate. It was a crit hit that knocked them back against a wall. Imagine that.
i'll make it, bugorama in the am and clix in the pm!

Funny thing is, Cap was the MVP, not IM/WM. Final was Skrulls vs Avengers, and if Cap hadn't been there, Skrull Ms Marvel would have toasted the armored duo.
