My friend, who is at an Alliance open house in Terre Haute, IN says that we will soon have Street Fighter Clix, totally compatible with Heroclix.
Very reliable info, but only time will tell.

That's...interesting.
I'm curious to see how it'd work. I'd have to get me an M. Bison.

I will buy those immediately.
I hope they wouldn't just limit it to Street Fighter 2 though. I need my main man, Hakan!

DAN!
We must have a DAN!
(And I'd think the entire franchise would be up for grabs. Ryu/Ken duo fig could be hilarious.)
And HeroClix compatible? Awesome. Someone is getting ready for Marvel/Capcom 3 I think. ;)

If Jeff's brother ever gives it back.
So is this supposed to be its own line? A collector set?
Seems a bit limited to have its own line.

I just came back from the open house and yes there will be street fighter clix that are 100% compatible with heroclix they did not say when its due out as they just got permission to make the announcement like an hour before the presentation

Wikipedia lists the Street Fighter franchise as having 92 characters.
That's enough for nearly a set and a half.

I don't know that I would want a full set. Maybe just like a 25 fig collectors set, or better yet some Battle Packs.
I have fond memories of playing Street Fighter 2, X-Men vs. Street Fighter, Marvel vs. Steet Fighter, and Marvel vs. Capcom 1-2.

There's 37 characters in Street Fighter 4 alone. I'm an avid player of both and I couldn't be more excited. Additionally, there's alternate costumes galore that could be used for LEs, this is going to rock. They wont just be close combat monsters either, theyres plenty of fireballs to go around.

And there is "Evil Ryu"
Just throwin that out there. its big enough, but just barely.

Never got into Street Fighter. Now, Tekken Clix would give us a clixable boxing Kangaroo. How can you not love that?
I would kill a man for a 200-300 point, fully-compatible Kazuya clix.
He must have a Demon Uppercut special power dealing 5 unavoidable clix and 7 for the spinning kick (I forget the name).
Also, a trait of regeneration like Wolverine's cause he's awesome and he keeps coming back!! BREAK HIM!!! BREAK HIM SO BAD!!!
EDIT: As far as Street Fighter clix go...Akuma, Ryu and Juri, KTHX!!
what would be really cool would be LEs with the acual real names for the fighters akuma would be gokie, M. Bison would be Vega, balrog would be M. Bison, Vega would be Balrog
that would be awesome!!
Keywordwise, they have a problem as not a single one of them should lack Martial Artist, which ought to create some imbalance if the set is any good. Maybe that one is finally going the way of Mutant keyword.
Also, if it's a hit, how long before Mortal Kombat Klix?
Id go for sakura clix ^_^ WOOT!!!
and @ tekken clix... i would think that Heihachi should have that wolverine regen power instead of kazuya. Heihachi got blown up by 10's of jack 4's, that shot him miles away and was then buried for weeks. For someone who's "human" and not using the devil gene, he should be the one to never die

I'm 100% with this guy and I absolutely love Street Fighter. I think that Heroclix should remain a superhero/comic book based game. If it were just Street Fighter, then I would be fine with it. We all know it is going to sell well, so it is going to open the door for any other properties that Wzikids/NECA can get their hands on to make some money. I'm not going to lie. I'm excited to be able to play Ryu and Guile with Azrael and Batman. It's going to be a set/box set/collectors set with a bunch of figures with very similar powers though.

Since I never got the chance to buy SF figures when they were released in that 3 3/4" GI Joe format, I am amazingly happy to get to buy some at Heroclix scale. I want a Dragon Punch Ken with transparent flames like Phoenix, a Psycho Power M. Bison with purple lightning like Shaman, and a big ol' E. Honda with a hundred hands shooting out of his pose.
Sweet.

I'd say the same for Iron Maiden clix, lol.
Give me the Street Fighter 2 lineup but add Akuma and Dan and make it a small collectors set.
YES! I only wish the license expanded to the greater Capcom universe. Maybe there will be some chase figures like Megaman?
I wish they would but things like this and Capcom characters, TMNT, etc together to make something different that isn't compatible with Heroclix. I mean, I see what they are trying to do and my limited releases like this more accessible but I don't like it. Then again, I don't like seeing DC and Marvel figures in the same game. I just don't think it's right to have Superman and Spider-Man facing off. There is a reason these characters exist in a different narrative from each other.

Firstly, I'm totally into this idea.
But, it's got me thinking. Street Fighter (and other fighting games like it) always strive for (if not attain) character balance. With the exception of the bosses, it feels like everybody should pretty much be the same point-cost.
I'm thinking around "50" points for a regular character would accurately balance them with each other and with the Marvel and DC characters (think Puma from Web of Spider-Man). Otherwise, they're pretty much flat-out admitting that certain characters are more powerful than others. Plus, if everybody was an even 50 points, that'd make team building a snap for the HeroClix uninitiated. It'd be just like Team-Battle Mode!

A starter set and boosters?! I kinda figured a 25 figure set would have been plenty. Though I can see this as an attempt at expanding their customer base beyond comic book fans. Which can only be a good thing for clix.

If street fighter is coming why not King of Fighters and Dragonball z/gt too. KOF has some cool characters and awesome powers to boast, same as true for dragonball z/gt. If you ever played KOF, or any other SNK fighting games, or watch the Fatal Fury movie series you would see that they can stand out for themselves and have cool finishing moves, especially in the arcades. While DBZ/GT speaks for itself. We have seen all over the net the hype of goku vs superman thing. People are wondering who would win if the two fights. And what better place to find out but in heroclix.
If Street Fighter is coming out, then I will buy it for sure. It is nice to play something different besides DC and Marvel characters. And hoping this will be the start of having different characters to play with, coming from manga or anime genre.

Chun-Li should also have the detective keyword.
I'd totally love to get hold of Chun-Li, Cammy and Blanka for my Clix collection!
i just don't get the people who are complaining that its compatible.. what killed horror clix and the reason i never bought any was because it wasn't compatible. who is to say this wont be its own game like horror clix but it is also compatible with heroclix??
me im kinda excited! even though i don't play much clix any more but this sounds really cool and ill prolly pick up a few packs if they are in packs... if its like watchmen.... prolly will skip it, unless i can see the figs, if the figs are viewable and they look good then i might buy them depending on the price
I REALLY hope they're compatible. I might still buy some if they're not, but it'd just be to put their sculpts on HeroClix legal dials!

bill4935
10/09/2010, 17:13
Being compatible takes away nothing and adds everything. A clix game (Halo, SF2, Eddie, etc) can have its own PAC and special rules... adding up to be completely different from Heroclix. BUT even with all that, those figures could still have Heroclix-standard power colours and stats.
Why not?
/If they do more CapcomClix, this might be a good way to get Blackheart, Shuma-Gorath, and Spiral done right. :)
Kamakura
10/09/2010, 17:18
Do they all get the Martial Artist keyword?
First it's Marvel v. Street Fighter. Soon they'll expand the roster so we can replicate Marvel v. Capcom. Although, they'll need a new Magneto. One that has a speed of 12 to represent how fast this old man can pull a 60 air combo.

Not to mention all the possible generics and NPCs from the Street Fighter universe. It could easily have a few sets.

I would love it if this were 100% compatible, and released as Indy Heroclix. The Indy branch of the game could really use some new life breathed into it, and Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat have both had comics, and neither is a DC or Marvel property.
If it's not 100% compatible, I doubt I'll buy any. Not that I hate the characters, but my wallet really can't take another game (particularly one that won't get much local play on it's own, IMO).
If it's just another Metallica-clix (Heroclix in name alone), then I'll pass.

It's good to see NECA utilizing one of their licenses - Street Fighter (or at least Street Fighter IV, according to their licenses page).
I'm anticipating expanded news and confirmation of set list.
As much as I've talked down the possibility of TMNT clix in the past, this news has me looking forward to the possibility that NECA will utilize (or even acquire) other licenses to translate to Heroclix. Good show!

Well, mine was given to me by an old friend who was cleaning out his house. Since it was free, my expectations for it are very low.
Nevermind the RPG. Just hop down over to youtube and have a look at the ultra finishers of these guys if there is any doubt at all about whether or not these characters belong in a superhero game.
I still say we need Tekken characters. Look at it this way, TekkenClix will give us fighting kangaroo clix! This will give Tank Girl fans mod-fodder!

I don't like seeing DC and Marvel figures in the same game. I just don't think it's right to have Superman and Spider-Man facing off. There is a reason these characters exist in a different narrative from each other.
The reason is because they are owned by two different companies. Plus, you're forgetting the Amalgam narrative.
Yeah, Superman and Spider-Man facing off against each other would (http://www.comicbookdb.com/issue.php?ID=127896) never happen (http://www.comicbookdb.com/graphics/comic_graphics/1/183/75909_20070427175123_large.jpg) in the comics.

Anyway, the Street Fighter gang *have* teamed up with comic book superheroes (well, at least one) in comic books, not just in video games. So, therefore, they are part of a superhero universe, therefore they count as superheros, therefore they belong in Heroclix.
Citation: Malibu Comics' Street Fighter #3 has an appearance by the Ferret (one of Malibu Comic's superheroes with his own comic).
Was it any good? Irrelevant to the discussion. Also irrelevant is that the quality of these comics caused Capcom to immediately pull the license to produce Street Fighter comics away from Malibu.
