View Full Version : don't submit to the powers of x-plosion on e-bay

I recently seen a Green Goblin on e-bay for 38.00 and 4 days to go. Please do not let your emotions get in the way of common sense. The people selling x-plosion on e-bay are praying on our needs. The people selling are not true fans or die hards, but merely wolves. My fellow sheep remember if you win a bid this week and it is shipped via U.S.P.S. you might get the fig only a week before the actual release. So please do not bow to these temptations and throw your hard earned money away. God only help us when D.C. comes out.

Yeah, the prices look pretty crazy. Experienced Collosus had a Buy It Now of like $15.

I would certainly not go so far as all that, and let me preface this note by saying I'm not selling anything earlier, but if I did have the figs, I would sell as well. If people want to buy their clix at the current prices, that's their perogative, and people who are sellers may be huge comic book fans themselves, but putting myself through grad school, I know that I'd be very tempted to sell any early clicks I did have, and buy them back later.

Anything is worth what someone will pay...

If I didn't have to feed my family, etc etc, and if teaching payed twice as much, I'd be out on ebay getting them too...but there it is.

(and they should have released it everywhere simultaneously - I've been through this 3 times now, and it's not fun...)

I seriously considered the V Taskmaster I saw on there, but he sold and it was before I learned of his ####py Udon costume sculpt.

wiz kids trusts those people that have X plosion figs not to sell them before the release date. by betraying that trust you insure that wiz kids will not allow pre release again. trust once broken is hard to reclaim. if you broke my trust that way id never trust you again.... think about it people you cant put a price on integerity and trust is not something that can be bought on ebay

if i see you selling stuff on ebay that is not released, ill report your filthy carcass to Wiz Kids :)

Thunderbolts - WHAT does the Taskmaster fig look like ? Everyones complaining, but if it's not Classic, and it's not the White Suit, then what is it ? Referance ?

GluttonCreeper, that is an interesting argument - the issue being whether the figures were sold with a "no resale before release date" rider. Now, they could have been, rather like the issue we had with the Indy clix pictures that were posted too early...but I doubt it.

Anyone know ?

Also, if you remember, ebay banned selling mods there, when WK and Marvel complained. It would be easy for WK to apply the same pressure again if they felt reselling Xplosion before the 25th was wrong.

It's hypothetical for me, of course, as I can't afford to do it, but there are Judges on the site who can afford to, and have.

It is a crock that Whiz Kids released X-plosion early and caused this frantic greed. I think that our priorities should be just a little different. Perhaps waiting until you graduate to buy clix and or choosing a new peofession that pays more, so you wouldn't have to rip off fellow clixters. Boy that sounded like my mom. Sorry, I can understand why some us would sell. I was not intending for a sound off on who was selling X-plosion early and why. I was just hoping as Susan Powers would say "to stop the insanity." And buy the way what ever happened to her?

are X plosion figs being sold on eBay, ifs happened before and it will happen again, unless they release them to all there distributers on the same day.

At a convention, as they are selling direct, they're making a mint...so I don't think they will be having sleepless nights over it.

...and I don't sell on ebay. I trade stuff, or occasionaly sell privatly. I do buy on ebay though. I just can't afford these crazy prices for the sake of four weeks.

At best, they might get close to breaking even for their con space and associated expenses. And, if they had to ship them by air, like they did with the DC stuff at San Diego Comic Con, they likely lost money of the sales....

This is a promotional tool, not an actual revenue stream for WK...
And, well, hey, it worked, we are all a-buzz about it now aren't we?

Auction rarely rip people off. The reason being that no one has come to my house and held a gun to my head to make me bid on one of their auctions. Buy-it Now prices are the closest I've seen to trying to rip people off, but again, no one is forcing you to use it. I think the best one I saw was a Hand Ninja with a Buy-it Now price of $30.00

Before someone jumps on my for being a "heartless, gready, so-and-so," I'm not selling any of these clix on EBay. I don't even live anywhere close to Orlando, FL and definitely don't have any XPlosion figs.

Not the easiest pic to see but here's a shot of Tasky:

Dunno if it's authentic 'udon' but it's certainly not the good costume.

I belive if you go and buy the figs at a convention than you must want the figs if you do not want the figs you would not have bought them. For thouse that say they need the money you should not have spent it on the boosters in the first place.

Also for thouse judges that put the free cool figs from wizkids on ebay I belive you are betraying your oth to wizkids, you are a judge because you like the games they put out and want to play not sell. I do not collect Mage Knight but I have the Santa they sent and I will never sell it. I was lucky enough to win an LE aqua man, will I sell it NO because I love wizkids, I respect them. Now I might trade it but that is a different story and trading is totaly alright. And that's my two sence.
