View Full Version : ROCK WARS 16 (70's Songs): Round 1, Match 55

DTM
10/11/2010, 23:55
Okay boys and girls, here we have 128 of our favorite songs from the 70's, from some of our favorite artists, which will be pitted against one another, Match by Match, Round by Round, weeding them all out until they get to the FINAL MATCH, which will have our two favorite showtunes face against one another to see which one emerges as Grand Champion of our latest Rock Wars!

As always, this TOC should be voted using a very simple criteria, which song do YOU like more, which do YOU feel you would rather listen to, and which would YOU say is ultimately more deserving to move on. Easy.

Pretty basic really. Songs are matched up, you all vote on the one you like more, the winner goes to the Next Round, and we do this over and over again until the Rounds are Over. I do ask that you all give objective opinions and votes here, listening to all songs and arguments here within this TOC with an open mind, beginning to end, and base your honest votes from that.

You know the drill by now, as always I ask that you please listen to each song again with each new match before voting. Thanks all.

So without further adieu, let’s get started with the Next match of many matches to come, in HCRs latest Rock Wars, Favorite 70's Song!

I now give you:

NEVER LET GO
(Camel) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uZKPZmfg-6Y)

vs.

DISORDER
(Joy Division) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PldpBJEn4vQ)

So what say you all - which of these songs will move onto the Next Round, and which will be as dead as disco?

The Joy Division song was pretty good, but I'm a fan of the band Camel so I must vote for Never Let Go.

It's a pleasant surprise (for me) that this was entered.

That Camel song didn't do a lot for me, especially up against my favourite song from one of my all time favourite bands. Disorder blows me away every time I hear it, it is an amazing song.

Disorder

I couldn't get the Disorder link to work for me so in case others are having the same problem here is a better one Disorder (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QrzGpVOPcTI&feature=related)

Another match where I honestly didnt care much at all for either song. I guess Ill go with Never Let Go, as the song I disliked the least.

I kind of liked Never Let Go. Not a resounding show of support, but it was better than Disorder.

I guess I will vote for Never let Go, but neither of these should count on any votes in the future.

What are the odds than another one of my songs is against a Joy Division song yet again. Truthfully the first Joy Division song was awful. This one is pretty good but it can never beat out Camel in my opinion. I am happy to spread some "unknown" bands to those that are interested. I could have chosen a better song but it was an instrumental and I always hope DTM does a rock wars for Instrumentals.

Camel to get my vote.

Two of my songs went up against Jethro Tull songs.

And yeah, I would be up for an instrumentals ToC (and Canadian, and, well, a bunch of stuff).

Two of my songs went up against, umm, each other. Some days, the dice just don't want to share the love.
