Now I can play Throg on the BPRD water map! Yes!

Guess that's one way to fix a figure. Unfortunately, Throg still can't swim in the "Modern" format. I may have to "House Rule" the use of this Feat exclusively on that character in the Modern format.
Cool, limited usage, but still cool. :)

Great little FEAT, but I'm not liking this method pf release.
After over a month of silence [and one summary of a trade show], they continue with the dribble of "added Value" items that should have been released with the set.
Looks sloppy and unprofessional WK. You guys are A LOT better than that.
Way to make it look less sloppy, just make it a regular feature of the web site to post one or two new PnP items once a week. We get a level of expected anticipation and excitement or new components to the game we love and you get the respect deserved for providing such a great product AND adding to that product's value with regular game expanding additions.

Now he's where he should be... for 3 additional points... in the golden era...
Hurm.
Not a bad feat when you take the focus off the frog.

Bahahahahahahaha....
Best...Feat...Evar!!!!
I can't wait to play this on Throg. It had almost become a given that I was going to be playing Throg at my local venue. I had stopped doing that. HAD being the operative word here.
Hey Throg....we're back in action!
Now if we can just get a feat that gives a character the flight ability! :cheeky:

Awesome Sauce! My favorite piece was finally given the ability he should have had all along. And for only 3 points, I can live with that.
And, I'm sure people will easily find other ways to make this inexpensive card beyond great for its points.

www.mobilehorror.com Blue Atoll will have it up soon I'm sure.
As for the feat. . .limited, but I like it!
Amusing Feat, but the information "dribble" post-release is a little bit... well... dribbly. Like the last few drops you couldn't shake out. Make of my language what you will.
The Bridge and Rainbow maps become more interesting now. This also works well with the fire hydrant.
Is it just me or is the feat image rather pixel-ly?
Bah to low resolution.

I prefer instant gratification. So someone post it.

D'oh, can I unsell my Throg now? Hehe.
I don't mind the "dribbling", if we got previews and ATA/Feats once a week, that would be amazing.

this is the greatest feat in awhile i know its the only thing holding me and other people back feom laying this great figure more and now its fixed.and broke how ironic, dont u think. I pesonally could have done without the closeup of the frog package.SMALL price to pay literaly

Nice! This can be used to fix Venus as well (from a comic accuracy standpoint).

Me: "No, he always walks that way."

Since I can't see it right away, I'm guessing it's a Feat that gives aquatic movement to grounded characters for 3pts, right?

Grounded and 150 points or less.
Alas it does not provide the :m-dolphin: or we could SUBMERGE the little pollywog as well...ah to dream...:)

It does look pixelated. It may not matter when it's printed to the size of the rest of the feats. I'll have to test that theory out later when I print it! :classic:

This'll work great and open up some serious possibilities for pieces if i want to build an aquatic based team upon the release of the new Aquaman. Throw down atlantis rising and this feat on a couple of pieces and you're golden. :D

10/14/2010, 12:41
Eh, I dunno. We had a frog figure with Thor's hammer who couldn't swim, leap or fly. This is basically a feat for one figure to help solve one of the three problems. Yeah, other figs can use it, but in Golden Age, people will just opt for the all-encompassing Swingline for 7 more points.

Anyone want to format it or whatever so I can print it? Thanks for doing all the work for me.
Luckily wizkids did that for you already. It is print ready off the website.
The ametuerish mishmash of trying to shove a low resolution picture into a higher resolution image though, you'll have to fix on your own.

10/14/2010, 12:56
YYYEEAAAA. We need more throg related items. But as some one said i prefer swingline to ignore hindering and to ground flyers in water for 7 more points.
Grounded and 150 points or less.
"Grounded" is an elevation (as in 'not elevated terrain'), not a speed type.
The Bridge and Rainbow maps become more interesting now. This also works well with the fire hydrant.
And don't forget Tempest!

So the swimming ability is only worth 3 points......they really need to make it better like + 1 dv in water terrain.

No complaints, here! Great for maps with lots of water terrain, or when the Atlantis Rising BFC is used.

There are worse feats.
This one will rarely see game play by most people.

Hello Again!
No, we’re not swapping recipes this week, but we are bringing you an exciting new Feat to print out and play in your next game!
That’s right, for 3 points you can allow your figures under 151 points (including a certain Frog of Thunder) to use the Swim ability! Your selected figures can then splish-splash to their heart’s content as your opponents have to stop and wade through Water Terrain.
With easy Pre-Requisites and a low cost, Frogs Legs will fit on most any force. Print it out and use it at your local game store’s next event!
Stay tuned next week for even more fun and exciting Print and Play installments! In the meantime, have a great weekend and happy Clix’ing!

I like it either way, its fun and there are both better and worse feats so it's cool and amussing, now to make an atlantis rising team and be an annoying little bugger at my venue, up up and away (everything sounds cooler when said like a superhero

Better yet, ditch Modern all together unless you are running a New Guy Night.
Enjoy the Advanced Rules, my friend! :classic:
This will also really help Nightcrawler on the Hellboy and WoS maps if you are tight on points. Yay! :tired:

Correction bolded. As Hair said, "grounded" is an elevation, not a speed type. Correctly or not, the card just requires you not to be on elevated terrain as it's worded now.
Wait, what?
The card specifically says :m-boot: which is a combat ability printed on the top of the dial.
Where does grounded come in to play?
WakandaMan
10/14/2010, 18:32
Cool. :)
Fixes the Throg, and can be used for anyone else who should be able to swim easily enough (or the speedsters who should be able to just run over water anyway).

Ah, no problem! :)
I was thinking I missed something, and they had already issued an errata, much like Big Figure, or dare I say, Manuever.
I'm thinking this feat is a little too broad, and there should have been another prerequisite or something.
Probably the easiest thing would have been an errata on Frog Thor in the first place.
With the card, now not only is Frog of Thunder capable of Swimming, but so are Professor Ivo, Professor X, Magma, Chief, Iceman, J Jonah Jameson, Thing, and even little Lian Harper! Dazzler can even skate over the water terrain now!!!
Yep, this feat may be a little too broad. :)

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not so I have to ask: Why would you put this on a fig that already ignores the effect of terrain on movement?
maybe we will get a feat that gives you the wing symbol now...the legion of superheroes belt?

As far as I know, no errata has been issued for Maneuver. It does exactly what it was intended to do.

Eh. It's a feat card, so it will only come up in Golden Age games... and there are plenty of other 3 point feats that give a more substantial benefit (Vault, Alias, Not So Special), so I doubt this will see play outside of making a figure more comic accurate.
Cool. :)

Ooh. A speedster water fix. I hadn't thought of that. Good call.
And I have 6 points left at the moment for my 2000 pt JSA vs JLA game this Sunday. I think Flash and Liberty Belle just got an upgrade!

Well, you remember the debate with Maneuver.
You're right, I misspoke, it wasn't errated, but it was clarified, in a way that made no sense as compared to any previous Feat Card in the game.
But that little comma (and card grammar) has been debated enough! :)
As for Frog Legs, I know it's Golden Age only, but I think it really cheapens the 70 or so figures who already have :m-dolphin:
Now, the one thing that they had an edge on, hundreds upon hundreds of figures can now add for just 3 points. I don't like it. :(
Yep, I just did the search in Units. Figures with :m-boot: and 150 points and under:
2152 Results
There are basically 73 Web of Spider-Man pieces.
53 can use this Feat Card....

That's not exactly true. Having the :m-dolphin: symbol on the actual dial also gives you access to Submerged (which is a great feat) and you can use them with Justice League's Aquaman's cool Telepathic Communication Special Power. I'm sure we'll see other SPs and Feats keyed off the :m-dolphin: eventually as well.
So on top of saving you 3 points (which can make a big difference in itself) there are still plenty of advantages to having :m-dolphin:
brevard321
10/15/2010, 23:25
Agreed, I hadn't thought of it like that, the :m-dolphin: is definitely greater than the Swim ability alone.
Isn't it strange though that so many characters can use the feat?
I think this is a case where it would have been okay to just say:
Frog Legs
Prerequisite: Any character named "Thor, Frog of Thunder"
This character can use the swim Ability.
Cost 3
***********************************
That would have covered both the LE Bystander and the chase figure.
With Print and Play, I would think that VERY specific feats would actually be the way to go. For example, if I don't own any version of Frog of Thunder, I wouldn't even need to print the card up.
Another example, say a new feat is called Utility Belt, but the prerequisites are the Batman Ally team ability. If I only own and play Marvel figures, then again, I don't even need to print it up!
I just don't see the point of 2100+ figures now being able to Swim (in Golden Age games), when a character like say, the new Carnage is foiled by a puddle of water.
Yep, Blue Lantern Flash loves this card.
Zoom loves it even more :bolt:
Roderic_Cliche

"Ribbit, ribbit!"
:)
The real shame is that Morph can't use this card. In the comics, the shapeshifting mutant would be able to have Frog Legs on demand, which would be fitting. . . but not so for the Clix figure, where he flies all the time and is thus unable to be assigned the feat. :(

Now if we can just get a feat that gives a character the flight ability! :cheeky:
Funny you say that. Last week I proposed to my group of Clix friends that we incorporate a new feat called Jetpack.
Jetpack - 15 points
Prerequisite: :g-starburst: and :m-boot: or :m-dolphin:
Choose a character.
This character can use the Flight ability (not carry, though)
This is after the 1st proposed feat of mine - Anchor.
Anchor - 5 points
Choose a character.
This character cannot be moved or placed by enemies.
Anchor was my counter to Maneuver and Nightcrawler....and it has become a staple in my home games. Only problem is remembering I can't use it in tournaments haha. Opinions?
Now if we can just get a feat that gives a character the flight ability! :cheeky:
Legion Flight ring anyone?
