Soon, we are having an all-out duel at my local Venue as our tournament.
Here's the rules:
- We all play on one map.
- I must have a backup plan incase the figure I want is already in use, we roll to see who gets first pick.
- Each player chooses 1 fig.
- When you kill a figure, you divide their point total by your point total, making the game seem relatively even.
- I KNOW there will be many Firelords.
I was thinking of using a GOOD Mind Control figure for this(U/V Professor Xavier, White Queen(Seeming better and better, Exp only 80 pts with MC, PsyBlast, SS)).
Anyone have ideas for mass-destruction in this game while keeping the point value low (No Firelord). I know 236 pt Superman is a good idea if he can kill everyone, but will get like one pt per kill.
Well, let me know your ideas!

Huh? I don't get it. I'm confused on the whole, "I must have a backup plan incase the figure I want is already in use, we roll to see who gets first pick." bit. What exactly does that mean?

Consider V Bullseye, or another cheap model with a good ranged attack and excellent range.
Then sit back and let the other players beat each other up. Snipe from long range and kill models, stealing their victory points out from under them.

Moondragon, hands down. 71 points, 10 Range, Mind Control for her first 2 clicks, then she picks up psychic blast, after 2 more clicks she gets regeneration. She is the perfect character for a game like this.
U Wolverine, for stealth, BCF, and Firelord-smacking AV?

One figure each means no taxis, so you want either a figure with Running Shot or Charge, like Thor or Vet Rogue, or a Stealth figure with a ranged attack and a powerful close-range threat like Unique Elektra. If DC is allowed, Superman, Batman and Nightwing would be good choices too.

I'm going to be at the same tourney as Shadow and know what he means.
He's saying that:
- Every person rolls and whoever has the highest dice roll can pick their character 1st. There are no dupes allowed on the board.
So, if Kyle rolls 12 and picks a Moondragon, no other players can use Moondragon.
See?

Go with E or V Doomsday. Monster damage. Just pray a bunch of people don't gang jump you.

So the whole concept is that there is going to be a sort of
mega-name recognition going on (no more than 1 fig of a given name except for peons in the tourney)? That makes things interesting.
And is it going to be a 1v1 battle? One character vs. one character?
The use of OWAW Supes seems like it will be the second-most coveted piece in the tourney (if it is a mixed). And the presence of one fig basically turns Mind Control into Incapacitate/MagicConfusion. For this one, try using V Nightwing or a V Thor. I still think that an OWAW Supes would be the best fig for you, but if you can't manage that, go with a V Kang. 13 attack, 10 phasing movement, 2 damage with +2 for RCE? REALLY kills Firelords, even if he costs 190 points.
Definately use a vet Doomsday, superman, thor, thanos, or Darkseid. Darkseid tops the list b/c of his psy blast
ok....everyone is just pulling up the heavy hitters, but since you want to get the most points per kill then why not use some very good low cost figs. I would suggest either a V Logan, V Sabertooth, or Nightcrawler.
Sabertooth gives you charge plus b/c/f PLUS regen, which would be huge in this type of tourny with no medics
Logan gives you Flurry with b/c/f for a possible 12 damage, plus regen. I mean, if you are the only one that can get healed in this game, and you have a way to get past invul (b/c/f) then it seems like you would be sitting pretty good, especially if you are getting 2 or 3 times the points per kill as any of the "powerhouse" clix
Finally, there is Nightcrawler. 18 defense plus super senses plus enough speed to hit, run, and then go hide would be great. Just try not to get into a position where you would need to push him and dont leave him out in the open and you should be fine. Just let the heavy hitters wail on each other and knock each others invul off while you chip away at the weaker clix, then whoop up on them at the end. Also, if your playing an indoor map and you do happen to get hit, then use phasing to just keep away from anyone till the other figs are done.
Or, if you cant tell, Im just a big mutant fan. Hope this helps some

I agree that Moondragon is the way to go.
