Thanx Jon for all of your hard work!
X-Plosion looks great and I'm totally excited about getting my grubby hands on some of these new pieces. You are kicking several types of butt and I want you know that I (and many people on this board...if not ALL of them!) appreciate the hard work that you do.
I am also really glad that you come to this board to defend and explain your work. You do't even have to do that, and yet you do because you stand by your product 300% (or so it seems to me! ^_^)
JonL is my hero! and X-plosion DOES NOT suck. :D
There's my 2 cents. *nods* Who's with me on this?

I my ##### about certin things, but Jon L. and the enitre Wizkids Herco Clix staff have been doing a fantastic job. Thanks for finally making an enjoyable and playable comic book adaptation game. I look forward to more good things from Wizkids in the future.
Thanks,

A big Thumbs up to the you guys Jon.
Keep up the good work.
I have to throw my agreement in here as well.
The witching from a vocal minority has already started. JonL and Whizkids needs to know that it IS a minority.
So far, it looks like X-Plosion is great and your hardwork is appreciated.
between Wizkids and Irrational, comic book-based games are getting a downright good reputation! And that is saying something, considering the state of things just 1 1/2 years ago
great work
Thanks everyone.
I know it's just a vocal minority, but sometimes it's a real bummer to hear people be harsh about something that I've tried to make really good. Ah, well, everybody's got opinions.
I appreciate the kind words. Everything's cool.
Best,

I totally concur. As someone who worked in a gaming company I know that there is always "the unsatisying crowd:" those who complain no matter what you do or don't do. So don't let these whiners get to you too much Jon. Great job & keep up the good work.
You have many fans out here who appreciate the fact that you try to fix figs according to what the fans want. And just remember you can't please everybody all of the time. Now if only we can get a preview of the next set due after xplosion we'd greatly appreciate it :D.

Yep, I'm with you all, I'm really looking forward to the set. Being more a collector than a player myself, so perhaps I'm a bit more open to the idea of it all..(As the actual powers don't mean as much to me, I suppose.)
Not only that, but a lot of us also appreciated the Beast preview which was gifted upon the site.;)
I think you are all doing a good job, and I'm personally sorry that you might get bogged down with all the negativity which flows around the boards.(On this site and others.)
In any case, keep up the great work.
Ta!
(P.S. Hey Jon, what figures did you push to have in the set? Just curious.;) )

Just want you to know that even though I may complain, it's just because I love the game so much. I wouldn't care enough to complain if I didn't love it. Good work Jon and everyone at Wizkids. I may complain but I'm buying 2 cases of my Herocrack. Keep it coming.

You did a great job, Jon. Impressed and loving it. From Destiny to Weapon X, a tremendous effort shows in every figure. Be proud, at least half as proud as I'll be when I get to play them. :)
Doc Samson, Mandarin, Savage Hulk... viva. My head spins and all that's left to say is 'Thank you!'
Indeed you have done a bang up job so far Jon. Glad to see it is your brain that is currently running my hobby.
You know, I was going to write one of these myself. :)
JonL - you've got to know that for every negative or complaining post you get here there are twenty people who are positive and excited about what's coming up. It's just the nature of people that those who are upset about something are more likely to be vocal than those who are pleased or even just satisfied with the status quo.
You're never going to please everyone. We're gaming geeks and comic geeks. We couldn't agree if the fate of the world depended on it :p There will always be people who will feel their favorite character was shorted. You could make a Thor who had a 15 attack down the dial, a 20 defense down the dial and 4 damage down the dial and you would get an entire thread claiming he was underpowered compared to Thor in the comics. "He should do more damage." "He doesn't have his weather controlling powers." This isn't meant as a slam upon anyone - I could have picked nearly any character in the game. I just picked Thor because soooo many people have gone off on him (like on the 'should Thor fly' threads).
Personally, after seeing all the stuff we've seen I actually regret that I'm only getting part of a case instead of an entire case!
I know that we all appreciate the work you've done on this game. It can't be easy, because no matter what you do, in some people's eyes you'll never get it 'right.' But you guys manage to capture the essense of these characters, and with just a few numbers to work with. That's impressive.
I also think that the fact that you come here and talk to us is above and beyond. It shows that you care about your product, you care about your fanbase, and that kind of attitude is great.
So thanks for everything - the game, the figures, the previews, the interviews...the whole nine yards. Don't let the griping get you down.

As for me, I can't say enough good things about WizKids. WizKids brought me back into gaming after having all but abandoned the hobby.
Their organized play system and prize support is second-to-none in the industry. They're the only company actually taking chances and producing innovative new products. They're exceptionally responsive to the player base, as shown by their release of promo images to this site, JonL's presence, publishing tactical articles by players on their website, and so on.
I couldn't be happier with the company and their games (those that I play, anyway).
The complainer contingent will be found in any discussion of any game. It's just best to ignore 99% of what they say.
Good question.
I was a big proponent of getting Mystique (the sculpt of whom we've had lying around the office for over a year!) and Destiny into the set. Iron Man was looooong overdue and was on everyone's list to include. The Unique Shadowcat with Lockheed was suggested by one of our Graphic Designers and was a shoe-in for the set -- especially when we figured out how to do a non-Unique, too.
Since the X-Men were the main focus of the set it wasn't hard to get some of them in. Everyone agreed that Colossus, Beast, Storm, and Shadowcat had to be in there. Oh, and the fans got Gambit in ('cuz I wouldn't have included him, blech. Sorry, I just don't groove on him.)
Taskmaster has always been a favorite of mine -- although I would have liked to see a version in the old costume. He was in one of the early Avengers I picked up and I loved him. Even so, I think Tim did a great job with the new version of the character.
I'm also solely and completely responsible for the Unique Elektra. Some people hate her, some love her. While I was working on her I thought people are going to flip for this character, she's ridiculous, but she's accurate for the character from "Elektra: Assassin".
I wanted even more Spider-Man villains, but some had to be cut. He has the coolest villains.
So, there you go.
Best,
--Jon

Hey, thanks for the info.
And on a few points there:
Gambit; can't stand him myself. Perhaps a bit too shifty for my likings. :D
Crowd Favourites: You all seemed to squeeze a lot of these guys in, which was pretty cool I think. From IronMan to Apocalypse. (I don't think I need to mention of Hulk/Spiderman/Wolverine.;) )
And finally, Spidie-Villians: Though not a fan of Spider-man myself, I think he has one of the best Villians Galleries. I'm personally looking forward to Rhino.(Even if he will be 'just another Brick'.)
Ta, and thanks for your time.

Thanks Jon, that's very cool of you. I'm not sure it can be overstated how nice it is to hear about the design elements. Hearing why is great, and sometimes douses the flaming idiots. Not always, but sometimes. :)
If there's anything else you'd like to share, I'm sure it'd be not only appreciated, but I'd offer to knee-cap any aforementioned flaming idiots. ;) For example, if I had my pick I'd ask all about Savage Hulk. Is he really as hunky in person as he looks on TV?
I'm just sayin'.

thanks JonL for the hard work, for all is very important your Job.
Carlos
I must, yet again, thank you for the great work, and the rest of the Wizkids staff asell. You're making comics come into 3-D with while trying to keep the rules as simple as possible and that is quite a feat.
I really appreciate how "connected" to Heroclix fans you are. I mean, to come on here and just talk about which figures you wanted made, who got others in, and even the fact that "the fans" did get a figure in by popular demand. That just speaks so well for Wizkids. You may not like Gambit but I think you did him extremely well. I plan on using him often in any Xmen team I make, and probably others aswell.
I think it is just so awesome that you come and talk about characters you enjoy. I would love to see some more Spidey characters aswell. I'm really looking forward to eventually having a Rhino (good syndicate brick w/charge), Venom (he's like spidey on steroids!) and Mysterio (I don't know how well he'd translate into clix. I'm guessing smoke cloud and super senses to show his "I'm here, or am I?" style.
My last comment is going to be a question. I didn't really want to ask anything of you in a thread meant to praise you but I can't help but ask. Someone posted that there is a Maestro LE figure that will be in a Wizard magazine. Is this true? If so what was the driving force behind deciding to make him? (You can say it was me if you'd really like to make me feel special :D I've been talking about wanting one since IC! LOL)
Thank you, again, for the work you do. You have the job dreams are made of. I wish I could get into something like that rather than accounting (which I am currently in school for). Have fun working on whichever set you're working on at this time!
...And a great BIG thanks and well done from me as well.
My only complaint has to do with having to wait another 3 1/2 weeks, but believe me, I am counting the days, hours minutes and seconds
(for the record: 26 days, or 624 hours, or 37440 minutes, or 2246400 seconds. Give or take.:D )

I think Jon L did a hell of a job with this set. Comparing the XP figures to IC, it almost makes me wish the entire IC set was remade.
And Jon L doesn't like Gambit? Well, he seems to be a character people love or hate, and even if ya hate him, you did a #### good job on him anyway. Good to see that despite your thoughts towards characters, they're still being made correctly.
Keep up the good work, and don't let overly picky uber-fanboys get you down.
Thanks John, you did a great job. Just remember to include the Sub-Mariner in the next set, j/k :D . (it would be really cool if you did though.)

Thanks for the hard work.
Yes, the classic Taskmaster uniform would have been cool, but this should work out too. Hey, we can't get what we want all the time.
Well, I for one have a problem with the Xplosion set. With all the cool X-Men figures coming out, how am I supposed to fit them all onto my teams! As a fellow Gambit "disliker", even he will have to find a way into the mix because he's just a cool figure! Arrgghh! :D
I've had my dealings with game companies in the past, you're very responsive and you've done a great job with almost every piece from CT, and Xplosion is looking good so far
A few nitpicky things but eh, everyone has their own personal view of the characters
Glad to see you're getting respect you deserve and know we appreciate your work, even if we do complain sometimes :P
Keep up the good work, and eh, if we complain just bear in mind we may complain but most of the time we're pretty happy with what ya do

I second Psylockelover.
Thanks JonL and Wizkids.
You've got the greatest comic book game ever IMHO.
Thank you too, Draddog and Co.
You guys are the best!!!:D
Y'know, it's things like this that keep me coming back to the board.
JonL does not HAVE to post here. If he wants market research, to find out what we want, all he has to do is lurk.
And when he DID post, to share some inside info with us, it seems like everyone and their uncle oscar promptly began flinging feces at him like a horde of hostile and incontinent monkeys, for reasons I still do not understand.
He immediately became a magnet for every beach and gripe everyone had with every little aspect of the game, despite the fact that he plainly stated he wasn't in on the initial design and character inclusion. At one point, it very much seemed like a number of people had the idea that "If we abuse JonL enough, he will walk into the WizKids office on Monday and fix everything we don't like about the game."
...despite the fact that you CANNOT make everyone happy. Period. Particularly with a game like this.
This does not speak well of us as gamers. It seems to support the idea that we're a bunch of maladjusted unwashed losers with no social skills, bad breath, and vile tempers.
More than once, I thought, "Jeez. If I was JonL, I'd get the hell out of Dodge and never post again."
He didn't, though... perhaps because he's paid... and I have noticed that occasionally someone would post some appreciation for the guy.
Still, one remembers a kick in the teeth long after a compliment has faded from memory... and it really seems like, both here and in real life, the people with a gripe to air are faster, louder, and brassier than the folks who just wanna say, "hey, nice job."
I'd like to see this thread keep going awhile. Well done, all of you. And thanks, Jon.
Oh, and while you're here... was it really true, about all those playtesters dropping dead from radiation poisoning?:p

JonL,
Xplosion looks amazing. The characters, their powers, their models. I also like your hints towards fixing some of the rules that have taken some away from the originally intended gameplay. I'm up for whatever you guys decide and feel that HeroClix is in good hands.
On a side note, I'm a little worried about the amount of Perplex being introduced into the Marvel side all at once and how it will shape the environment, but again, I trust that it's been tested and found to make the game even more fun.
Thank you,
Steve

Just wanting to spread the love for Jon, Wizkids, and HeroClix as a whole. ^_^
Opinions are cool and all, but we can't forget that these guys are listening to what we say about this game. We are part of Wizkids' research material! How cool is that? :D
That's one aspect that I love about this game!

That and I dig a local product! :p

After reading alot of complaints and coming up with a few myself I really can no longer complain and neither should anyone else. You should thank John and the rest of the Wiz Kids design crew for even making Hero Clix. I don't care if they have the frickin Wonder Twins as the basis for the next D.C. set and Slapstick as the basis for the next Marvel just as long as they make more Hero Clix. So thanks John and keep it up, I think I'm looking forward to the D.C. set more than Xplosion, it's just the idea of now knowing who will be in the set and praying for a better version of Superman all at the same time. And hey, when that next Marvel sets comes out in a few more months, you could always make a Darkhawk. I won't complain, but I'm sure that vocal minority will no matter who you make and how well you do it. They should be happy they have any Clix at all. Enjoy the game, and if your going to be a critic, don't just say something sucks, tell us why. Tell us what you'd do different. I'm done, thanks again John.

Most definately Good Job by JonL and Company!! I was one of the main Spidey-gripers, and you guys made me and every other Spidey-griper a version that I personally think is VERY COOL!!
Gambit in by popular demand of the fans is awesome too, some companies could care less what the fans want, all we are to them is dollar signs. Not so in the case of Wizkids. YOu heard our opinions, and responded in grand fashion. Thanks a lot!
Great job on the new set, from the pics Ive seen I can tell I have to have this entire set as well.
KILLER, KILLER, KILLLLLLLEEERRRR Iceman sculpt too by the way!! He looks awesome.
Keep up the great work!!!!
The cranky ones make the noise, and the happy guys stay quiet. Thats the way it is. A big thank you to Jon L for being so interactive and for putting in the effort to make CT so good, and so far from what we've seen, to make it 2 in a row with XP.
:D
Now huury up and make with the Authority/Planetary! :-)
Brian
ps Good call on this thread My-evil-twin. Well needed, but i wouldnt have thought of it.
Y'know what I really love about this X-Plosion set? It has absolutely no crazy loose ends like Clobberin' Time had. Mojo and Spiral, but no Longshot? Vampire Lackeys with no ringleader vampire? Those kind of drove me nuts.
But not so with X-Plosion. Not only did we get the new Hulk, but three principal members of his supporting cast. Mystique has Destiny. Daredevil has the Hand and Typhoid Mary. Iron Man has three of his main villains. And the X-Men are here in force. Everything fits together just about perfectly this time around.

There's a couple things they did with this set thank make me really happy for the future of the line:
1. Fewer generics - only six this time. Hopefully, this bodes well for the future.
2. Fewer "filler" figures - one of the big complaints about the last set were the characters like Blob and Toad and Black Widow - that just didn't seem to serve any purpose. There don't really seem to be many of them here.
3. Sculpts - Most of the ones I've seen have been excellent; in general they're better than the CT ones, several are DC-level good.
Now maybe I'm just dreaming, but I really hope the Con Artist LE is Karen Page (who isn't really a con artist but looks like the sculpt). In any case, she's good mod material for Tulip, if I ever make a Preacher set....

Awesome job on the new set! The new figs have an excellent sculpt to them (especially Iceman) and their abilites are perfect also!
But I better see a Venom in the next set! (shakes fist at Jon)
Whoops! What I meant to say was:
I better see a Venom in the next set! (shakes fist at Jon)
LOL! All in good fun. And you can't go wrong with a good Simpsons reference joke. :)
Keep up the good work,

Just remember, any uy they didn't get 100% can always be made an AMAZING unique.
Jon, I think the U Elektra is amazing. Way to go. The spoiler list of X-plosion was what got me back to the game. I am grateful to you for your work and your commitment.

I wasn't even sure if I was going to buy Xplosion (I'm bigger on DC), but then I saw the figure...GAMBIT! Now, I was among the many who voted to get Gambit into this set (he's my fave in all of Marvel). Hearing that it was the fans that allowed him to be in this set let's me know that Wizkids IS listening to what we have to say (look at the new Spidey Unique).
Now, I not only have my favorite character, but he can do some SERIOUS damage! I think all my future X-Men teams are going to be just a little bit mroe fun thanks to Gambit.
Thanks Jon! Even though you're not big on the character, just remember that no one is perfect.;)
Hiya I don't noramly post to the same thread twice but last time I was on my way out somewhere and I wasn't sure if I would have enough mental faculties to remeber to respond again latter. I do! Which is supriseing considering what I've been typing for the last couple of hours. Anyway. After reading this thread I feel that I am the only gambit fan on the face of the planet. Oh well I don't care you may not like him but you did a sparkling job making him. A stealthed perplexer is something I've been wishing for, for the longest time. Now they can get out there where he will have line of sight to everyone and not be shot into oblivion. Also that nice click of ranged combat expert after he looses perplex also makes him potentialy very nice. Kudos.
Another thing that I noticed is the mount of energy explosion that the X-men have in this new expansion. I think this is very clever on your part expecialy since we will be getting a new enhancement charecter who is cheap enough to use in just about every game. I like it how you tried to make it so that they all tie together well so that they will work as a team.
Lastly I personaly flipped over the new Elektra. I'm not sure if I expressed my support when that preveiw came out or not. I do remeber that the rampant complaining of people who couldn't even read the post correctly made me throughly annoyed. Anywho wow, you have just made a mindcontrol team viable. The number of crule and unusual things I have done to other people's figgures is revolting. Especialy when I make people wander into the waiting and loveing arms of Spiral. Anyway. Yes the new Elektra, should I be blessed enough to get her will be well used.

What can I say? My only complaint is having to wait so long between expansions. That and waiting for my obscure favorites to be produced.
Jon,
Thanks for the awesome work that you and WizKids have done with Xplosion. I have been a comics fan for over 20 years and the X-Men have been a huge part of that. I really appreciate the attention to detail and the thought that you put into all of the figures. I was excited about the set before, but now that I have seen Iceman and Gambit, I am ecstatic.
Thanks again for the hard work that you put into my hobby. It really is appreciated.

Jon,
Holy Carp! I love the figs in this set! IronMan, Beast, Collosus, IceMan, Phoenix, Storm, Crimson Dynamo, Abomination, APOCOLYPSE!!!!
Ahhh ..... basking in the happy glow of all of my small plastic friends .......
And about the various powers and such. Jon, you're right on the $, as far as I can see (and I even understand why you'd put running shot and ranged combat expert on the same click, for pete's sake) :). You and everyone at Wizkids should be proud. This game rocks!
As a side note, I had never been a fan of the "collectible" game phenom. As a hard-core D&Der since I was 7 (way back in 1977), I reacted with shock, horror and derision when MTG pulled so many people away from good ol' d&d.
Now, most nights, I'd rather play Clix than D&D.
Of course, I'm now going to hell for my heresy. Hmm. Can you make a set of fireproof Clix so that I can take them with me, please? ;)
A lot of games, many involving figures, and even a few involving Superheros, have been unleashed on the game buying public over the last 25 years, and back in what now seems like an earlier life, I wrote, published, and made (a little bit) of money from one of them.
However, despite having a few minor criticisms (dupes, diagonals, roof jumps, distribution in the initial release, Cyclops' sculpt, Firelord's points etc) I have to say
HEROCLIX is the best popularist Skirmish tabletop figure game made so far. (Sorry, Workshop, but there it is...)
That it's collectable is fine, but that it's a phenomanaly playable system is fantastic - and tournament play is just great. And we finaly have all the Superhero figs we have been wanting for decades. For that alone, the game system would deserve to succed.
I like MechWarrior, (and don't like MageKnight), but Heroclix should last forever. I think it's superior to both.
And when I do make a sugestion (like no dupes except generics) it's cos I want the game to last, and consider my sugestion to be a step in that direction.
And as for WizKids / Jon L - without them, none of us would have this.
Mega thanks to all concerned.
LoL
All the Best

Note:
Elektra:Assassin - very cool.
Elektra:XP Unique - very cool.

At the risk of sounding like a broken record... Thanks Jon for all your hard work with HeroClix. We can't wait to get our mitts on Xplosion - excellent job! I also especially appreciate (and agree with) your recent comments on this site regarding old rules/powers issues (taxi-ing, support, etc.)
You obviously have a love for this subject and have greatly improved the game. Please keep up the great work!
Grinner: This isn't meant as a slam upon anyone - I could have picked nearly any character in the game.
That was exactly my point in the past; almost any figure in the game has it drawbacks (nature of the beast). I mean, they've just come out with an awesome Hulk figure but certain fans STILL complain about it. It boggles the mind.
Jon L: I know it's just a vocal minority, but sometimes it's a real bummer to hear people be harsh about something that I've tried to make really good. Ah, well, everybody's got opinions.
And this shows what a good guy you are, to recognize that most fans have a right to their opinions, as long as we all respect one-another.
Thanks for your efforts, Jon.

opinions are like a##holes.
everybody has 1.
I complain because I love this game.
I'm not a buttkisser, so I'm not going to say great job but discuss the things I feel need changing.
this is a fanbased game, so the fans are going to complain sometimes (that IS what the internet is for).
If It would make you feel any better JonL: If I don't complain aboot a fig it's because I think it's done perfectly !!
there are a handfull of figs that I feel where made badly of a whole set of 90+ figs, isn't that a compliment ?! ;)
Destiny was done perfectely !

Geez people. I think Xplosion looks pretty good myself, but this is getting ridiculous ...
"I'd like to thank the creators at Wizkids. You know who you are: The game designers, the play testers, the old Chinese man who spends ten hours a day painting eyes on the sides of the figure's face, my mom for giving me the opportunity to actually buy Heroclix, etc., ..."
It's beginning to sound like a Halle Berry Oscar speech ...

I really have nothing to add to this; I'd just much rather be hanging out here than in other threads lately. I just don't understand the vehemence... although I guess I have to appreciate their level of desire for the game. But it is just a game (and thanks to WK and JonL for continuing to make it such a fun one to play). I would hate to discuss something truly important with some of the other people on these boards... it's frightening.
And JonL, if there's room in the next set, how about Moon Knight? Not a particularly exciting figure, true, but I enjoyed him when that comic was first released.
But please, no Dazzler. Thanks.

Then don't post to it, or did that crazy 'To show JonL we care' title throw you off?
I dunno about Jon L but I'm glad to see that people were willing to sit down and respond to this thread with mostly positive comments... I've been around gaming, comics and such for years and I've known more than a few people who became bitter and miserable from having their work constantly criticized (yes even in the days before the internet) and all the negativity that seems to surround it
To wizkids in general, thanks for putting up with our complaining :P (yes I've done my share too) We just want the most out of the game, same as you do
Yea, the New Elektra looks very playable, and like it will be a fun figure. I only have one question, why only one arrow for Gambit?
because EE simulates him throwing multiple cards at people near each other? When you think about it, his exploding cards don't blow up an entire area, so this shows him showering one area with many cards.

Thanks for a great game and all. Like the looks of the new set, and I am highly anticipating the dimensions it will add to the game.

Ditto on the Wizkids/JonL love. While it does have flaws, Clix is a great game. As a friend said to me, "Who would have dreamed when we were kids that we'd be lucky enough to live in a world where we can play games with little plastic superheroes." Truly, this is the best of all possible worlds.
OK, maybe that last line's going a little too far, but the point remains: I, and I suspect most, are generally happy with the job that you guys are doing on Clix. Keep up the good work, and don't let the gripers get you down.

Jon,
Thank you for your open and honest communication with the fans. There are many of us that appreciate it. I have enjoyed the HeroClix releases so far and Xplosion looks to continue that trend. Also, I am glad you realize that the majority of people playing this game are happy.
Now, please make all the characters that everyone wants with all the powers that each fan feels the figure must have to correctly represent their comic book counterparts (with perfect sculpts and without any overpowered figures).
Seriously, thanks again.
I'd also like to add my sincerest thanks to JonL. I've been in an out of gaming and comics several times, and HC is the most fun I've had.
Griping is every americans god given right. Just ask them, or don't and they'll still gripe about it.
Look at it from this point of view how many people can say that hundreds of grown men and women will throw hissy fits based on whether or not you make a particular 1.5 inch plastic toy at work today?
You do great, and you listen to us.
Keep it up.

I think that the complaining is a good thing.
If 500 people a day come in and complain, that's 500 people a day who like the game enough to sign up, get 'emself some clix and start playing.
Better than 500 people who are entirely indifferent.

I started this post because the forums were starting to sound like 411wrestling.com...this sucks, that sucks...blah blah blah.
I'm not trying to bash people's opinions, but I was getting a little overwhelmed by the negativity over a game dealing with small plastic comic characters.;) And instead of constructive thoughts, most deal with some pretty graphic reactions: quitting game altogether, comparing game to body waste and so on
Please, keep the positivity coming! go over to hulkup's thread
http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=29042
I figure we could get a bit more fan and game creativity flowing by adding positive feedback with all the negative.

I've been a lurker for a long time, since last summer, but this thread made me want to finally post. I, too, want to express thanks to Jon L for the great figs! I've played many games over the years, from Magic to Rifts, and nothing has quite got me hooked the way Hero Clix has. And each set just gets me more and more into it!
Thanks for posting, and for working on such a great game!

When Heroclix first came out I was adamant that I would NOT buy or paly it. I thought it was going to be some lame @$$ game taht would further delve me into geekdom. Not knocking magic or overpower players, but that was not a scene I wanted to get into. Then in my local comic shop I saw a preview figure for Spider-man and decided to buy it because it looked cool. It stayed on my mantle for months and went untouched. Then I thought a mini Hulk and a min Wolverine would look cool. So I bought the premiere pack. Then I decided it would be cool to have the whole Marvel Universe. I spent several hundred dollars trying to complete the set, and then decided, WTF if I'm spending this much money I might as well play. I never looked back.
My point is that WK has put out a quality product! A fun game and a fun collectable. Is everything perfect with the game? No, and I don't think there is one person out there who thinks that. But just because character x doesn't have the stats I like doesn't mean the game sucks, or the expansion sucks, etc., etc., etc.,!
JohnL has done a great job getting out the highest quality and most fun product possible. And things continue to improve. X-plosion looks to be x-ponetialy better then CT, which was days and above IC.
So thank you JohnL for making a fun game, changing my mind about gamers and the gaming community, and #### you for making such a good product that leeches the money out of my wallet like my x-girlfriend!
Jon L- I haven't seen one of these figures in person yet, but I already like the set. and am making up teams based off the Warriors section. I have my case ordered, and my money for the DC set already set aside. I love this game and appreciate the work and thought you have put into who is included, putting some like Gambit that aren't your faves, and not Iron Fist and Powerman that you (and I) really want. Glad to be part of the fun!
I echo what JayThor said.
The interesting thing is, even though the few bits of the rules that annoy me (site pasim) are still there, I STILL think the game is exellent.
I will happily travel the 25 miles to the nearest tourney venue to play for LE's, and will again soon.
There are only two other games I'd do that for, and I wrote one of them !
...and Heroclix is brining gamers from 8 to, well, rather old, into the game with a chance to play on equal footing - and have fun - to a degree which I have certainly never seen before.
Long may it last.

Great job JonL. Keep it up.
I waited decades to finally get quality Marvel/DC miniatures. And then, to my surprise, I got a great game with that as a bonus! :D
Both my boys and I are big fans now.
I really appreciate the time you take to comment your designs and share your thoughts, whether on this thread, in interviews or in Sneak Peaks.
I have to say that the sets are getting better and better and it seems to me that you play an important role in this. I am under the impression that you really love this job and the comics and it shows.
I really hope you'll be pumping out sets for a very, very long time.
A good word for Ray Wehrs, Director of Sales, who was very kind and responsive when I inquired about HC waaay back before the launch of IC.
Best regards,

P.S. Please do all that is within your power to give us a Silver Surfer. :)

I have to give the thanks for the great game that's been produced. I first saw the game at the NYS fair at some cheesy "Mall" under a tent. I assumed it was some #### thing that would be just at the fair, so I decided to pass. Then (just by chance, as I hardly ever read Wizard) I picked up an issue of Wizard, that had an article talking about how Heroclix was better than System Link Halo! (A hefty statement to me, as I'm a huge Halo fan) The combo of seeing the game at a chance and then seeing it in a random mag I picked up pretty much sealed it for me...I was convinced that it was my destiny to play this game. (I am a jacka$$ though, so take that for what you will) And I bought my 1st booster...hooked. Anyway...let me just reiterate, THANK YOU!
ps - A special thanks has to be given because this game really squashed my interest in Warhammer, which I had just gotten interested in (and is really expensive!). A friend an I split the cost of one those 40k starter sets...then I saw this game. My buddy was angry that he wasted like $70 on a game that we'd likely never (and in fact didn't) pursue, but all was forgiven when he saw Wolverine deliver a 6 w/ BCF to Cyclops for the first time. (I swear Heroclix is just an excuse for my buddies to rip on Cyclops...stinkin' glass jaw!)

I'm also solely and completely responsible for the Unique Elektra. Some people hate her, some love her. While I was working on her I thought people are going to flip for this character, she's ridiculous, but she's accurate for the character from "Elektra: Assassin".
____________________________
LOL, I will not bash this but... Even when I saw this for the first time and mentioned it to people at tournies everyone laughed. How can they? One more question. In Elektra Assasin does Elektra find one of Thanos's cosmic cubes on a park bench or something? "smiles" Even the a s s kissers will enjoy that one.

So why not make more? Because Destiny is well known? We needed a boom-boom instead of Elektro? Well I have to agree this time around and realize Jon's hands where tied on this one. I do love this game but as soon as the next set and the set after and so on are released I will start liking it alot less with characters like Paramedics and Con-Artists ruling and ruining gameplay. One thing that Jon will say is that pre Ct was not his doing but he will have to admit that this set is and he will eat his own words.
Thanks all I love this game too and although most can't see what some of these pieces will do I will see it for you.

Can you not see Manchine? Come on guy? Stop knocking me and open your eyes. Jon has done some good I'll admit but the game was in place before, the characters where also good before, and all the fig creatinons are done by others and as far as I know he has only made 2 characters in the set Elektra and Gambit(possbly Iceman). I personally believe 2 of these too be a total farce.
I commend all the people at wizkids from marketing, creating, game mechanics and the artist designs as well. But these are different people who actually need the applause. I spend way too much time on here as it is to get some simple points across about figures and small tidbits in game play. And the people that are idolizing Jon L are the same people hacking me. I don't hate Jon L. Far from the truth but you guys are worshipping the wrong god. He is the creator of the numbers inside your liitle dials and this post seems like the golden calf senario.

All he wants is attention (either good or bad) so the best way to end his ego rants and unwanted criticism is to just not reply to him and hopefully he will get the message. It'll be like a game, Ok so starting now nobody pay attention to Thanosied 1..2..3..Go! By the way Jon I really respect the fact that you listen and pay attention to what we fans have to say. 2. Post your stuff, "Lex Luthor". Post your Thanos and Silver Surfer, too, while you're at it. Come on. Do it. Post them. Seriously, go right ahead. Let's see how much better a job you can do.
3. You claim that you see how figures like Paramedic and Con Artist are going to ruin the game, but I am more than willing to bet you have already made up an army or two including multiples of both, Bullseye, Doombot, and Firelord. Am I right?

Wow too be heard like I care. I play, I win, I post. My god Im just like everybody else. Funny that most of the cool people that agree that some of the figs like the ones mentioned seem to be off key, are just stating" WTF Paramedic?" or " OH MY GOD I need 10 Con-Artists" and then they end there posts. But continue the bashing I can take all the negative if it gets some reasoning behind a few mistakes.
For Jon L. I know the Con-Artists are to get rid of the RCE's domination in tournament play. I know that the Paramedic is cheap because there is no team ability and you want to be able to heal at a low cost all non Firelord/Ultron firgures who's defenses don't drop fast. This is not the way to go about it.
Destiny was a great design to go about this. I hate her because she sucks and is granny sucko but her being created is a great way to change the path that has been set in motion. You just went about the " Things are going to get overhauled and Im going to do it with X-Plosion" attitude it seems to me. I want a Beast and an Iceman and a Storm and I want Iron Man and others but I don't want them if they aren't accurately portrayed.
I got the closest Wolverine in IC, the closest Elektra aswell. But I am waiting for the little bit of realism that goes with a fight in comicdom. How good is this character? What are his powers? How can we make him do this in the game? Yes you did see those through on some characters but you have to admit not all. Thats the point I am getting at. Even you responded with" if one is undercosted then they are all undercosted". But how can that be when one fig was made taking everything she has ever done into effect and counting another out because he has only had his true power for near a decade?
Well this is obviously in your honor so I wont take up anymore of your time. Passion is passion in all its forms take this for what its worth and good luck in the future.

Thanosied: Kitty got Lockheed a number of issues before she got the Soulsword. The Energy Explosion represent's Lockheed's firebreth.
"Why not make more [Spider-Man villains]?" JonL's already explained that he doesn't have final say on all the figures in every set.
And Elektra was insanely powerful in the Elektra: Assassin series. IMHO, the figure isn't nearly powerful enough to represent her.

Popularity? Heh.. that's almost amusing. You've only shown yourself to be lacking, from what I've seen. Elektra is still not a GOD just under 100 points and less life would be better. Kitty had the sword for a long time and she is always with Lockheed so why not both on the same dial. And about the other. He could have put his foot down and got some more things out there. He is capable of standing up for himself.

1. As written in Elektra: Assassin, she could easily have taken out every model in the game without taking a scratch.
2. There's no reason why we couldn't get a Kitty with Lockheed and Soulsword model later.
3. JonL doesn't own the license. Him putting his foot down is a non-issue.

1)Elektra could not beat a god could she?
2)Maybe true about the mute point but he is part of the final draft and he can see what the fanbase want and could have possibly made the V Scorpion a U with the laser tail and stick the V with his 4-6 range.
3)True about the Shadowcat. But why not kill 2 birds with one stone and have one really cool a s s fig. ( sword in one hand and Lockheed on opposite shoulder) Now that would be a fans dream. I mean everyone wants Joe X-Men Age Of Apocalypse anyways so I think they may plan on releasing them for a third or 4th versions of these characters.

Perhaps 'fans' aren't the most bais people to get stat help from, eh?
This is a job for them, a workplace. If they listen to these 'fans' every time, every character would have 12 clicks of life(Yes, all the way around..) and 20 for every stat.
They do their best to balance the figures, inspite of being fans, or not. (As JonL's example of Gambit.)
And who ever said Electra was a God? I've yet to see the "God" Heroclix figure to base her off of. Is Hulk a "God"? The new one is 201 pts.. that's way more than the new Electra.
Perhaps you should leave the figure making to the experts at Wizkids. ;) They've done well so far, the sells show this to be true, whether you agree or not.. and frankly.. I doubt many of us care that you don't. ;)
Sometimes we need to step out of the whole.. "Me!Me!Me!" cycle and take a look around.
And a lot of your stuff is based on your own assumptions. (Ex: I don't want Age of Apoc. Figures.) Therefore not 'everyone' does.
Why? Then they might as just remake IC fifteen times over, and just redo the characters as their alter-ego in some random offshoot of a timestream/demension.
Be happy with what you got, next time.. you might not even get that much.

How about you just go have that chat with him for me?;)
And perhaps he is the most powerful character on earth..(Not going to get into a comic pissing contest, heh, they are rather sad.) What's the point, eh? So in answer to my question, was that a 'Yes, he can defeat a God'? You seem to be applying this to lesser characters, why not all the others that are comparable to Electra?
And as far as making the characters a decent representation, my responce is this:
They do their best with what is available. You may not agree with it, but on the other hand, you aren't exactly bias now are you. Before we go and yell at them, perhaps we should read up on the character which one might complain about.. have you read the Electra: Assassin plot? I haven't, but others which have find it to represent her wall. (As did those at Wizkids.)
In the end, there's only so much they can do with those four coloured/numbered slots.. ..the game is MEANT to have a measure of simplicity. ..otherwise we might as well be playing the RPG..heh.

I want to say thanks for hard work and what you have accomplished thus far. I want to prove a point by saying for every comment I make intellegent or not, you will see at least 3 people ripping into anything that goes against the norm.
I have brought up some very legitimate issues and they have or haven't been answered(some have and some haven't) but no one gets nailed to the wall like I do. Take a look around. But I understand you have put a great deal of work into this game and I enjoy the game immensely so I can only say so much negative and then I have to give thanks so I am not 100% gutter trash to these people.
I am sensible and Pm over 20 people regularly when there on and talk strategy and character likes and dislikes but even you have to admit that too much praise can't be good. But anyways thanks again for your hardwork and I do like several of the character designs in the set but I think there is room for improvement.
