The new BD Aquaman has the following SP
Attack - Tentacle Whip: When Aquaman occupies water terrain, he has a range of 8 and his line of fire to other characters occupying water terrain is never blocked.

Tempest has the following SPL
SUMMON THE ELEMENTS: Tempest can use Charge. Clear grounded terrain 3 or fewer squares from Tempest that does not contain objects, terrain markers, or debris tokens is water terrain.

On the docks map, you have Aquaman in the water. The enemy stands in the middle square on the ground at the back (dock end) of the building. Tempest stands on the ground two squares away and creates the water terrain

And then, out of a puddle in the alley behind the warehouse, a giant octopus lashes out!

E = Enemy
T = Tempest
A = Aquaman

x E x
x x x
x x x T
x x x
x x x
x x x
x x x
x x x
x A x

If I can translate this into Aquaman and Tempest summoning Cthulhu for their bidding then Brightest Day has become infintely more awesome.

Aquaman with range is the best thing ever!

Now we just need more water maps! :)

The Super Friends are going to be awesome by the end of the year when you add Brightest Day Aquaman and the DC 75th Wonder Twins to the mix!

If I understand this correctly, and the red squares represent the building, I'm not sure if this would work. I say this because Tempest's SP specifically says "CLEAR GROUNDED TERRAIN", thereby eliminating its effect on any elevated terrain.

No octopus out of a roof puddle...

I think only the 9 red x's represent the building. I think that in this example, he is saying that both the Enemy and Tempest are on clear grounded terrain.

Since Tempest's water power works without line of fire, then he doesn't need to see the square that the Enemy is in to turn it into Water Terrain.

And then, once it is Water Terrain, Aquaman gets the 8 range with a Line of Fire that can't be blocked so he can "shoot" at the Enemy. Of course the "shooting" represents the octopus out of the puddle, so I think it would work! :)

EDIT: And of course Tempest could be in any number of different squares to turn the Enemy's square into water as long as it was 3 or fewer squares away.

Dang it, I was sure it was going to be an Anti-Cuckoos SP.

So the water terrain doesn't have to be contiguous for the trait to work, just as long as the target is within range and is in water terrain?

I really don't think it does.

Of course there may be a clarification I'm not aware of, but I'll have to look and see.

I just think the only stipulation is that the square can't have objects, terrain, or debris in it, and of course that it is clear grounded terrain which is what the original poster specified.

So unfortunately you can't use a Tempest/Aquaman combo to flush out a Stealthy Batman or anything.

But theoretically, you can have Aquaman shoot through walls as long as the target is standing in Water Terrain!

Brightest Day Aquaman is the new Cosmic Spider-Man!!!

Okay, technically from a puddle in the alley behind the warehouse

The attack would 'originate' from the square the villain is in. When I first started writing this I had not looked up Tempest's SP and had the villain in the centre square of the elevated area. Then I changed it. But forgot to change the location of the tentacle's attack.

I liked the set up because Tempest does not need LOF, it is just the clear grounded terrain within 3 becomes water
