Dr. Doom LE

Okay, I won a Dr. Doom LE on Saturday. I've seen several posts talking about how great he is. Help me out with some team ideas for him, bearing in mind that our tournaments are usually 200 points and Marvel only. Thanks.

There are tons of combo's

Team him up with other Doombots to Mastermind off of.
He's can be down right nasty with a 10 attack and able to perplex up to 4 damage.
If throw in R black panther, you can have free movement and outwit. Plus throw in a shield guy so your doombots can boost Doctor Dooms damage. Another combo is throwing in E Vulture for the SS team ability, and if you perplex Doom's attack to 11, then all the other doombots will have that attack value.
there's also the ever popular Rookie IG to share the 18 def and get the FF team ability.

That should get you started.

Does LE Doom have an arch nemsis base? Was wondering if he could teamup with accursed Richards.

Some people tell me: Dr Doom LE is no the Real Dr Doom , is a Doombot whar really really think is Doom but noy. (you see the hand is like the doombots and your base is no AE.

You know if is true that?

Yes, it is true. Only the Figures numbered from 1-60 in the set hav LEs. Doombot falls into this range, Dr. Doom does not. And you are absolutely right about the base and the hand.

And to add to this,

If this LE was really Dr. Doom's LE and not the Doombot's it would've been named "Victor Von Doom" to keep in line with the rest of the LE's.

wonderboy8917's suggestions are very good.

Keep in mind that Dr. Doom LE has the same number of clix as a Vet Doombot, so you need to be careful about taking damage and pushing. If MasterMind gets outwitted and you're hit, you could easily be out 60+ points!
You can help this out by having an X-man on your team so if the LE pushes, a neighboring Doombot can take the click back.

all of this makes me wonder how good the LE actually is in play. I'm not sure which role he should fill. Three damage with Perplex is good, but not great and his 6 range concerns me. He's too expensive to just be a taxi, even a perplexing taxi. I thought about many of the things wonderboy listed and I'll probably give that a try. I just thought someone might have some experience playing with the piece and throw some ideas my way. Thanks.

LE's are won at tournaments. Check wizkids for you local hosting venues.

I don't really know of any good Doom LE teams. How about you mail me yours, and I'll think up a team? Oh yeah, I'll email you with the team when I get one.

I really dont think there are any good Dr. Doom LE teams for 200 points, mastermind is such an expensive power considering he is 60 something points AND you need people to mastermind too. I have used him effectively in a 500 pt. fun game with Joey the Snake being carried around and used to mastermind to and shoot ( Joey has killed Darkseid). Oh and one other thing, the LE could not be the real Dr. Doom because there has never been a rarity level 3.4.5. LE.

AFAIK, you want to keep him on that first click as much as you can so you should make sure that he's always got someone with him.

Remember to use the passenger as movable terrain to block LOS.

Good choices for Mind Control sponges include E Controller, EV Logan, R Wolverine and R Sabretooth.

AFAIK the figures that are the most positively affected by perplex are the ones with flurry, and several of them are good in their own right. Your choices are Whirlwind, Quicksilver, and Logan

Since you're trying to keep Dr Doom on his monster click, you should probably field a medic EV AIM Medic is generally accepted as the best choice.

So an example 200 point team is:

68 LE Dr. Doom
50 E Controller
17 V AIM Medic
32 E Whirlwind
33 E Wasp


When dealing with the ubiqutious
V Firelord, E Bullseye, E Wasp, R Panther, & Medic team you should do well if you can get the match to turn into Wasp v Panther, Doom/Controller v Firelord, and Whirlwind v Bullseye.
