I played on the DC truckstop map.

I was told that If a fig is on one side of a truck, and another fig is on the other side, both figs still have LOS to each other, because the trucks do not have a SOLID BLACK LINE. They are just considered hindering, not blocking.

T T
C T T SW
T T
T T

The T's represent the truck squares, C is Cyclops and SW is Scarlet witch. He said that he could shoot SW with Cyclops, because trucks are considered hindering, not blocking.

Is this right? Common sense states that if Im hiding behind a truck, and you are on the other side, you cant see me.

Or are these trucks merely for "MAP DECORATION" and considered to be on the same elevation as say....A Bush?

Its true they have no solid black line, but a semi truck is pretty high, and should block LOF I think.

If they are considered to be just hindering, and LOS does pass through the trucks, does that mean that my Black panther could sit atop a truck and be stealthed??

HELP!!

Yes, Cyclops could fire on Scarlet Witch, adding 1 to her defensive value. Yes, Black Panther stationed in the truck would be Stealthed.

It is a giant truck-shaped bush.

we have played this map with the trucks as hindering terrain because you could look under the trailers or between the tractor and trailer...

I've always played that trucks don't stop projectiles (I love physics vs. Heroclix). I honestly think that they are hindering terrain. I can see the confusion with it, but the solid black line of DOOM rules us all eh?

Oh, on a side note, you WERE right about Rogue.

Wow that was fast!!

Thanks HeroComplex for your help.

Thats cool, here I thought that stealth was pretty useless because there wasnt anywhere to hide!!

Thats okay I guess. Truck shaped bush. That opens up a lot more possibilities for my ranged guys then. I thought you couldnt shoot through those trucks.

So much for my common sense thinking......

To be considered blocking terrain, the border of the square containing the drawing must be the thick black line (just like a building or elevated blocking terrain). The line that makes up the silouhette of the truck does not make it blocking but hindering.

Hope this helps.

Ok, say I'm playing my Rookie Black Panther, and I have him hidden in a bush... Does Black Panther have Line of sight to use his Outwit while he's IN the bush? (as long as his target is within 10 squares)

?

Yes, provided there aren't any figures or blocking terrain in the way of his LOF.

hmmm...hindering terrain has no effect on LOF when it comes to outwit? is this what you are saying?

Correct. Unless the target has Stealth or the Batman Ally ability, hindering terrain is irrelevant for Outwit/Perplex/PC.

example: Ultron is trying to hit Quasar but ther is hindring terrain in between them, on top of that Black Panther is inside that hidden terrain with his Stealth ability. My opponent says that BP is invisible and therefore he can fire at my quasar with only a -1 to hit due to hidden terrain. Is that correct?

Nope... that is incorrect (unless Ultron is on a rooftop edge). All figures block LoF, and even though BP is in Stealth, he STILL blocks Ultron's LoF to Quasar.
