check this out and let me know if you think it will do good against the typical firelord team. if you have any comments on improving this then by all means chime in. thanks.

using a black cat or a scarlet witch would help assure you hit the FL, especially if he's in hindering terrain...

Get yourself a V Doombot. That is a good strategy to have a leadership roll for more actions. The more actions you have the better of you'll be.

I think you should get rid of a Doombot, and replace it with a R Scarlet Witch for her PC. Nice team though!

I'd like to add in a vet 'bot but i didn't think i would need it with 3 free move taxis and 3 ranged dudes to gang bang ole cheesehead into oblivion. should i drop Bullseye a level to upgade one of my bots?

Anyone else have an opinion on this?

hmm, not impressed. id just lose cyclops all together. get a vet bullseye, dump panther down to roo. then lose wasp for a vulture and you will still have a lot of points left. the main weakness i see is that doombots dont move very far. so if firelord has a long distance taxi he will get the jump on you and crush whoever he wants.

its pretty sad, it really is. how you have to build a team around beating a firelord, because thats all people use in tornies, it seems so many people dont play for fun. its the same teams all the time....people say ok 2 yellow firelords, scarlet witch an outwitter,...... its just a much better game when playing for fun. in fact, its not really fun playing against people that are just playing to win,....the whole taxi firelord in shoot get hit taxi out heal,.....i donno, i am ranting and venting i suppose,
the way i look at it, firelord is a cool character and all, but best played by rookies and newbies as a crutch

Come on now, there's no reason to bash the way other people play. Everyone has the right to have fun in their own way, and if firelord is their way of having fun, then you need to respect that, and have fun in your own way.

Simple.

actually firelord rarely shows up where i play.i was just trying to build a team that could take him down easy.as for the first strike thing how can he hit my guys after Pyro throws up a barrier?he can help protect me until i get a good shot.oh and i don't care if my opponent uses Firelord, it just means i get a challenge in taking him out.

The highest attack value you have is an 11. Which in most cases is good but what does Firelord have on defense 18? which makes you have to roll a 9 or higher. Maybe you could add a Hydra operative to increase your odds of hitting with either Cyclops or Bullseye than follow that up with the remaining ranged combat expert piece.

I generally like the whole Cyclops/Bullseye Wasp/Bot construct quite a bit (I've been playing some variant of that team for the last month or so), and 11 on 18 is still a 58% chance of hitting. Considering you can generally stay out of range, too, you can drop a FL without too much incident.
I think running E Black Panther is more important to this team than a Black Cat, though, since you might need him to fight in a pinch and Outwitting garbage like Barrier, for example, is a lot more handy IMO than rerolling.
I've been trying to figure out what to play with that last 100 points or so, though, and I definitely don't think Pyro is really adding to the team except that it's another little Sniper. What happens a lot by running the 3rd Sniper is that you end up with a bunch of guys who can't do anything in B2B, which is a bad idea in general.
Running a cheaper efficient beater, I think, is more useful in general than another sniper, since you can lay down covering fire for them a lot of the time as is. U Wolverine, V Logan, V Doc Ock, or U Elektra are all cheap enough and efficient enough in combat to both help protect your ranged guys and then cut down your opponent's support pieces. Nightcrawler, of course, is also pretty solid there, but you end up running out of points too quickly and have to run junk like R Doombot, etc, which doesn't move far enough.

The two versions of this team that I've been running lately are:

V Cyclops
V Logan
V Bullseye
E Black Panther
E Wasp
V Doombot
R Shield Medic
Total: 300

and

V Cyclops
U Ninja Wolverine
V Bullseye
E Black Panther
E Wasp
E Doombot
R Shield Medic
Total: 299 (the non-300 point level is so irritating, but the U Wolverine is so good at hitting high defenses.)

Though the SHIELD medic is awful at healing people, no one on the team has much of a Defense anyways, and copying that ability onto the Bot is a pretty good deal.
If you've played your army since you last posted, I'd be glad to hear of anything you've learned.

Don'y bother building an anti-Firelord team now, in 3 weeks we gets V Mandarin - 12 Range Mindcontrol with 11 attack (7 needed to hit, 7 is the most commonly rolled # on 2d6). That will 0wn Firelord.

Yeah, Mandarin looks to be an okay piece, no? Pricey, but still. I mean, he's almost as expensive as Cosmic Elektra there! :)
