Hey guys, Whats up?

I do this thread about this time with new releases and such. With most , if all, of the guys of xplosion seen, whos your favorites?
Heres the lowdown: You get three regulars and two uniques, simple enough huh.

Heres mine:
(R)regular:
1.Iceman- The sculpt is awesome!!!
2.Ironman-The stats and the sculpt
3.Storm-Finally!!!

(U)Uniques:
1.Green Goblin-He looks so evil!!!
2.Apocalypse-Hes huge

I personally don't think that is the Green Goblin. No Glider, the goblin doesn't wear a cape, the wrong colors and costunme. Maybe it's a custom? Still not convencied it is the Goblin... I hope not, I like the old version from the old amazing's...

That is most definitely the green goblin. Tho when i was at megacon, i must not have noticed in the display case that he was gliderless, or just thought the flight base for the fig itself was a glider. The fig itself looks good, and is definitely from Ultimate.

Than the Green Goblin is definatly off my list to purchase unless they put out another version like he used to look. I don't read and refuse to buy any ultimate pieces.

About you guys discussin Green Goblin and him having a flying base, thats total carp. I am a faithful reader of both Ultimate Spiderman and Ultimate X-Men and in Ult S-man Green Gobby cant fly. He is however able to leap great distances has super strength and he totally kicked Spiderman's arse. He should also have super senses cuz he was followed around by these imaginary Ghost People who told him what was goin on all around him but they eventulally drove him insane. Hence the fact that he should have Battle Fury from all the times he injected himself with OZ(his wonder drug).
Also, you should really try to get into Ultimate S-man, its great they are going over all of the characters spidey ever faced from the begginning(sp?), right now they are doing Venom and the illustrations are just flat out sick. check it out.

Deathbird.

You get a 10 attack, B/C/F, EE, Running shot for 5 spaces, 2 damage with RCE, a 17 defense with Deflection (so 19 against ranged attacks) and flight for 70 points. I just found my new staple for tournment teams.

Speaking out of ignorance until I play, but so far my favorites are ones that bring a new mix of powers to the game:

1. Madame Masque R. I've only seen the R stats, but she looks pretty interesting. Definitely anti-Invisible Woman material when paired with a good taxi to lump damage onto. I like the RCE+Poison combo.

2. Shadowcat E. Man, that'll be one obnoxious taxi. Plus, I don't feel bad for not having a Vision anymore.

3. Psylocke. Usable enhance. Taskmaster is great too.

For U's...
1. Green Goblin. Willpower + Super Strength is good. Perplex and Flying are icing on the cake.

2. Sauron. May edge out Electra because he's a dinosaur. There's still that Kitty Pride U too..... Man I can't decide. SO #2 slot is a tie with everyone but the Leader and Death Bird.

Well I'll give what'll probably be my favorite three (since I don't have them yet I can't be for sure):

3. Hulk - I'm pretty sure this is self explainitory. It's Hulk and he's a total Animal this time! I will play this peice so often once I get it!

2. Green Goblin - I'm not that big of a fan of him being the Ultimate version sculpt, but with stats like that? I'll deal. Great taxi with Willpower, Perplex, and Super Strength to begin with. That is fun stuff. I forsee him taxiing Hulk around alot in the future.

1. Taskmaster - 100% impressed. Great sculpt, great abilities, great everything. I'm very impressed with everything I've seen about him thus far. great attack value, a 16 defense (which is very high for this set), and a rainbow of abilities.


Honorable mentions:
V Silver Samurai - What a value for his points! great attack stats and phasing end of dial for a quick getaway. Sign me up.

E Storm - Finally, cheap leadership for the Xmen. She'll stick around due to her stealth and even once she loses Leadership she gains Perplex for even more team supporting

U Spider-Man - Cheap, effective, efficent. This is a great spidey at a great price, period.


In closing I'd just like to say this; You've got to love ninjas!! Who can pass up the oportunity to build a team full of ninjas?!

1) V Iceman. Perfect! Awesome sculpt, good stats, cheap X-Men flyer. What more could you want? Yes, I know he doesn't have Incapacitate his whole dial, but what's that red square in the damage box? RCE? You betcha! I mean c'mon would you rather push a guy for one damage IF he has already taken a turn, or bust him up for three damage(atleast one with Inv)? I'll take RCE thank you.

2) Any version of Colossus. He's a big boy, and he will hurt you.

3) V Storm. Fantastic, cheap for her powers, and she is HOT! For a little plastic superhero, of course.

Phoenix Unique. See #3.

Shadowcat Unique. She's a hip, hip lady with a pet dragon.

REV: V Mandarin. The guy is too powerful to pass up with a 12 range. And thanks to a good defense (with ESD), I'm fairly confident that I'll enjoy double points from everyone's favorite tin man.

Unique: Not sure. Most of them seem very useful. For now, I'll just say Apocalypse because he seems to be quite powerful (althogh nothing compared to the comic version).

My favorite is Apocalypse and Warbird. Warbird rules big time. Mandarin is cool too.

My Faves:

Uniques:

Green Goblin - He and Sauron are without a doubt 2 of the best 3 uniques in the set, in terms of 300 point play. With high move, willpower, perplex, decent range and attack values... plus super strength, what's not to like? Oh yeah the sculpt, but I can live with that...

Spider-Man - Not the most playable fig, but definately one of the most fun (along with Savage Hulk!). A very good representation of the character, we're getting real close to the perfect Spider-Man!

R/E/V:

Silver Samurai - This dude just plain rocks! Basically his vet is a tougher Unique Electra without the stealth or range. His R and E pieces are great harassing figs too. Finally someone to play Robin's role in Marvel games, aside from R Doc Ock of course...

Taskmaster - This guy is gonna see a heckuva lot of play. MOD, high attack and awesome powers, his only drawback is the dodgy costume! I just hope that future versions of Captain America come close to this bad boy!

Abomination - A bigger, meaner, green Hercules! Will this guy be Marvel's Bane? Only time will tell. Can't wait to try him out in battle myself.

Boy it's tough to pick just 5 characters from such a fantastic set. Great job Wizkids, keep it up!

(that is, I don't care about the stats as much):

Ironman is a no-brainer, and the X-men ain't the x-men without
those guys (even tho Colossus is currently dead).

Pleasant surprises category:

Deathbird
Ninjas!

Figs that I can do without:

Con Artist

A cheap excuse for perplex. I don't like generics with powers, unless there is VERY compelling reason. And I don't see how
some trollop yelling out "Watcha red card!" during a melee is
going to affect anyone's aim...

I agree the Paramedic is probably the best medic to date. It kicks the carp out of Scientist Supreme IMHO. ;)

Oh has anyone else noticed that you can now field a 281 point pure Defenders team? It should be fun to run those 4 against the experienced 4F! Who do you guys think'll win that one?

So my favourite figs would be:

V Colossus (with higher defences please !!)
R Shadowcat
Unique Storm (with all the the powers she deserves !!), but until then I would have to be happy with V Storm.
E Beast (for the original X-men [and Angel]) because I don't want to pay 20 !! points extra for having the support power !

and since I love Spidey
the new playable unique Spiderman !

and the 2 members of the brotherhood:

R Destiny :)

R Mystique which should have gotten a LOT more powers for those points.:(
