Daredevil - Love it. I'd honestly strongly consider playing him over the HoT version or the Sinister E or V. Sure he does a lot less damage than any of those figures, but he's also between 15 and 25 points cheaper, and he's got amazing defenses and a rock-solid attack value. Right were Daredevil ought to be power-wise: incredibly deadly against "mooks" while capable of hanging with even the biggest bads for a few rounds if luck is on his side (though he'll find actually hurting those brutes is impossible without help).
Spider-man - This is a very different take on Spidey (Plasticity, Quake, Battle Fury, opening Perplex), and I want to love him, but that abominable attack value means that I'd never play him. At 60 points he's too expensive to be a legitimate taxi or tie-up piece compared to say Ragdoll or the Daredevil you just posted, but he's 100% worthless on offense. It's hard to beat Happy Meal Spidey in terms of efficiency. Happy Meal Spidey isn't at all comic accurate, of course; Spidey shouldn't have more than 1 or 2 clicks of a "3" damage even as a Vet, much less as a rookie. But for 10 points more your Spider-man is rocking a big ol' 6 attack if he move and attacks...he'd need a 9 to hit even a lowly mugger. The mid-dial upswing helps and objectively his average attack is close to (a little lower) than Happy Meal Spidey across his dial, but the opening and closing 8s on the only clicks he has a shot of hurting an Invulnerable character just sucks. I'd either bump his attack (and his cost by a few points I suppose) or more likely if you just want him to be a rocking tie-up piece, drop some powers (like the late-dial charge and the Quake) to lower his cost.
Falcon - He's not amazing, but its funny what a +1 starting attack and 15 points of savings does for my thoughts on a dial, even though he has the same average attack as your Spider-man. The difference is that Falcon's purpose is very clear; he's a cheap-ish Taxi/"Spotter" for Avengers teams who, if he pushes or gets punked for 1 or 2 damage, is a viable offensive threat. It also helps that his best attack values overlap with his Charge clicks, and that he can ignore hindering and characters while charging at all times (Flight). Obviously he does less than Spider-man; less combat options, worse defenses, no Perplex, worse TA...but for 15 points less it doesn't matter. If you insist on Spidey having low attack and damage, consider stripping down his powers to look more like this.
Batman - I take it back, this is the most perfect dial for what your thread is trying to accomplish. He's a Bats that offers something different to a team for a low cost; not necessarily better, but different. He's half the cost than the Icons E and Lamppost; so those aren't fair comparisons. Against OotS Bats, he's 20 points less and is clearly worse, but 20 points buys you a cop and thus puts this "Rookie" batman on a different, more police-swarm oriented team. Indomitable, "Super Leap", Leadership, and slightly better average defenses make it so that it's not a totally one-sided win for OoTS either. Compared to the Icons Starter figure, you pay 7 more points for a much, much stronger dial...except there's no starting outwit. Instead the outwit is buried deep within his dial; deep enough you may miss it. Is that trade-off worth it? Depends on your team. Perfectly done.

At 60 points he's too expensive to be a legitimate taxi or tie-up piece compared to say Ragdoll or the Daredevil you just posted, but he's 100% worthless on offense.
I think he is extremely playable for 60.
Spidey has traited Leap/Climb, so with unoutwittable mobility he'll be all up in the opponents face, with a massive defense (for the cost), perplexing friendly figures. The opponent can either choose to attack him to potentially get him off Perplex, which puts him on a sweeter click for the retaliatory strike, or risk a 1-in-6 chance of break-away to get somewhere else.
Move & Attack is icing on the cake, if you're basing your strategy around it then you're doing something wrong. The 6 attack is irrelevent to the playability of the figure -- at best it's useful to have, especially if you need to chase down a fleeing support piece. What's important is that he can carry.
Spidey can Perplex down an enemy's defense, and if necessary take a shot himself. Hitting the average 16/17 isn't *that* hard with an 8 attack, and it'll be a pleasant surprise if you do. Anyway, the way I'd play him, he wouldn't even be making attacks, he'll just be whizzing about carrying people, tieing ranged-attackers up with plasticity, perplexing, and supporting with the X-Men team ability.
Judging a figure solely on its AV is a very short-sighted thing to do IMO. (Especially when he gets an upswing mid-dial.)

I was going to complain about the lack of a higher cost, means you can't allocate more expensive powers or stats, that they should/would have. But seeing that they are at reasonably low costs to fill out theme teams, makes me happy.
I hate when I want to make a comic-accurate team and can't because the one high-costing guy taking up the majority of the points.
However, I don't think any Spider-Man should have an 8 attack. Ever. At least not a rookie one.

I really like what you've done with a lot of the characters here, but I must admit that this Wolverine seems undercosted.
Looking at the Trait, here's how I see it: the effect to heal 1 damage on a given turn (ignoring the type of action, for the moment) is like Regen, except that:
1) 50% of the time, Regen gives a better result (often much better)
2) 33% of the time, Regen gives a worse result
I would think it fair, then, to cost the effect granted by the Trait about one third the cost of Regen - a much better potential result being worth more than a guaranteed reliable result.
So let's say that Regen costs 1.5 points on any given slot (which, again, seems fair to me, though I don't know how the formal point formula, if there is one, works); thus, this power would cost 0.5 points per slot, and since the first slot doesn't count (can't heal), we'll cost it at 0.5 points x 6 clicks, so 3 points.
Now consider that it's free each turn, which is verbatim the Automatic Regen feat. That's another 12 points, totaling 15 points. Now consider that it's a Trait, making it Outwit-proof; I would add another point for that, making it a 16 point trait in total. I believe this is generous, but fair.
Subtracting 16 points from the 65 point cost, this leaves the figure sans-Trait coming in at 49 points. Is that a fair cost for this figure?
I personally believe it's too inexpensive. Wolvie's got the same number of clicks and almost the exact same numbers as a Rock Troll at 45 points, but vastly superior powers, including lots of damage reduction, support capacity (Leadership, Perplex) and BCF to crank up the damage. I would expect the dial alone to cost around 65-70 points, making me think the total with the Trait should be 81-86 points.
I'm not trying to be pedantic, but I felt simply saying "Wolverine seems undercosted" would be insulting (at worst), or at least unhelpful (at best) unless I provided my reasoning.
That aside, I love these dials, and hope we see some official dials with this more straightforward mentality in the future.
Nice work!

Agree with Overdrive.
While I'm fairly sure their has been a re-evaluating of the point formula in the past two years (grounded Bricks seem much less expensive especially), even this seems a little off.
I'd put that dial closer to 80-90. Keep in mind perplex is a very expensive power (it's usually the most expensive of the damage powers by most calculations)

Any figure in the game is going to go down quickly if they get 7 damage directed at them.
Plus, when Wolverine is superfluous to the story, he often gets KO'd quickly, and spends the rest of the panels reviving himself. Its entirely accurate that he can be taken down quickly with lots of effort.
Plus, this Wolvie is 30 points cheaper than the X-Force variant. It's no big deal if he gets one-shotted.

Just to avoid the, "I so hit him. No, you didn't!" argument, I'd word his trait like this:
:star: Vampire's Curse: When a character takes damage from an attack made by Dracula, place a Vampirism token on the character's card if it doesn't have one already. Dracula can use Mind Control on characters with Vampirism tokens on their character cards.

It's so nice to see a Colossus that isn't solely focused on some kind of Fastball Special power....why do so many people adore that maneuver so much? It's practically eclipsed all the other cool things about Colossus!
I really like this Colossus, though I must admit that I miss the absence of even a single 10 attack, even if it was at the end, as he stands on his last legs. Nice layout, a great and very apt special - park him next to Professor X and let him smash anyone who comes near or take one for the Prof if someone takes a shot - and the ability to crack Impervious on every click without additional help make the great team-player Colossus deserves to be!

This is certainly an unusual take on Surfer...
...hmmm, what can I say? If the purpose of the thread is to be Affordable yet Accurate, I can only give part marks here, since even at his most standoffish this seems pretty weak for Norrin. A great way to get big defense to your fellow Defenders, but no move-and-attack on a guy who's practically synonymous with move-and-attack? No reduction on a Herald of Galactus? Mediocre attack value on a guy who wields the Power Cosmic? One opposing Outwitter can neutralize practically his entire offensive capacity for the first several clicks, and even without it I can't entirely get behind a Surfer that can handily be schooled by Spidey-on-a-pole.
I really like the approach and hope we someday to get a more passive, Incap/Defending oriented Norrin, but this guy seems a bit too feeble to be called the Silver Surfer imo.

I must admit that this dial doesn't suit my personal fancy. I can't recall Thanos in the comics ever being an unbelievably powerful, unbeatable tyrant who collapses like a house of cards after a couple lucky shots, nor do I think Thanos should be so much more powerful before taking a hit than he is afterwards - he's Thanos, after all. I think Thanos would be a hard guy to make both affordable and accurate, since making him accurate practically by definition would make him costly, given the level he's working at and the way he's generally portrayed as being one step above and ahead of everyone else.
This is an original take, but just doesn't feel fair to the character; too much power up front, falls apart too quickly once hurt. I also think he might be undercosted...sure his whole cost is at the front, but with an opening click that devastating, I think he'd be broken in play for 125 points.
Just my two cents - I appreciate your thoughtfulness and unique approach.

He feels like he should be costlier than this - more like 80-90 points, I'd expect, especially contrasted against the Black Hand, who seems the most natural point of comparison - but I love the concept and the execution. This would be a sweet, sweet Dracula dial if it really existed...here's hoping it will!
I really wish I had time to comment on all the dials in this thread, but I'd be here all night. Great work to all who have posted their ideas, and lots of great stuff is coming out of this straightforward but very effective concept for dial designing.

This one is just amazing !
I agree with adamkomar remark on the trait wording and with Overdrive note that it is a bit undercosted, but except for that : GREAT JOB !
The idea is good, the all black dial is completly cool, the trait is sweet and comic accurate without being game breaking. What else can we ask for ?
