CharlesX and VenomDaBomb bring you a game in the spirit of the season of the witch: HALLOWEEN!!!!!!! Ready for some TRICKS and for some TREATS!!!! Oh yeaaaah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The game does not officially open until 10 pm EST!!!

First off, the basic rules for any of my Mafia games:

1. If you are killed/lynched/eliminated during the game, you will not be able to fulfill your game condition and therefore you WILL NOT be able to win the game. Entiende?

2. If you need to know how to play "Mafia", well, you can either look at the zillion threads that have cropped up on it or you can get the actual rules here: www.mafiascum.net

3. Remember that you may not PM anyone during the game unless your write-up - or something sent to you by the game moderator (that would be me) - says that you can do so. Doing otherwise is cheating and will lead to horrible things, like disembowelment and being fed screaming to Hungry Joe Quesada!!

4. You may not discuss this game - except in allowed PM's - outside of this thread; that includes "real life" conversation or casual mentioning of your role to a buddy.

5. Votes for lynching someone must be BOLDED or they do not count!

6. Once you're dead, you need to not only refrain from discussing the game -at all- (this includes no PM's to former team members or chatting in other threads about it) but from posting on the game thread. This is considered cheating and will get you banned from any future mafia games that I run.

7. There is no editing of posts allowed in the thread. Yes, that means we can all point fun at each other's typos - even changing them is not allowed - but it's the standard rule and a good one so I'm sticking by it.

8. If you have to PM me an action, be sure to do so before the Day/Night Phase is up or I'll assume that you did nothing but sit on your read end. Simultaneously, if you're restricted in posting or have a rule that adjusts your actions, be sure to follow it.

10. The game moderator reserves the right to change things at any time or make a game decision. You may be mod killed if you continue acting like a FOO' after being warned.

INTRODUCTION

It is the best of times, it is the worst of times.

China has reported a few random incidents, but is doing its best to keep them out of the press. Cases of South African rabies have already started being spotted around the globe. Israel is in the process of enacting its stringent isolationist policies. And the United States? For once, the Americans are somewhat behind the curve. And so it is that a failsafe fails and that Patient Zero arrives (by plane or otherwise) to the City of Brotherly Love. This fact is known to a select few - and to one individual who will never tell the tale.

A man sits in a hotel room. He is feeling desperate and bereft of any human assistance. He knows too much and is afraid to let the rest of them know that the end of the world is upon them - simply because he doubts that anyone will believe him. He wrings his hands and agonizes. Who should he go to? The press? The authorities? Is there anyone anyplace qualified to deal with the threat that looms against mankind and to civilization as we know it?

A loud knocking comes on the door. The man, startled, jumps to his feet. Sweating profusely, he waits, hoping that it is a mistake. The knocking comes again, more urgently this time. There's no escaping it. The man mentally bows before the fate that is to come and stumbles to the door. He opens it, hands trembling.

A shadowy figure stands before him. The man's eyes widen in recognition.

"Yes, we know", says a steady voice. " We have known for a while. It is our business to know these things. And to be prepared."

The man starts to speak, but the words stick in his throat.

"It's all right," says the shadowy figure. "We have a contingency plan in place."

"Y-y-you do?" stammers the man, shocked.

"Yes," comes the confident response. "Unfortunately, the solution does include you common folk. Invitation only, you see. So sorry."

Shots ring out in the murderous night. The shadowy figure is gone and a corpse has been left behind. At the very least (and it is a mercy) this one will not rise from the dead to feed upon the living.

CharlesX is DEAD!! He was CharlesX (WWE/Town), an unfortunate victim of circumstance whose only wish was to stem the awful tide of catastrophe that now looms before the whole human race!!

For those who didn't look too closely on the sign-up thread, here is what the Patient Zero mechanic looks like:
At the start of the game, no one's a zombie. Yet. You see, one of the players is Patient Zero.

Unless Patient Zero is lynched on Day 1, the zombie outbreak begins!!! Thus, as mentioned in the OP, someone literally must die on Day 1.

For the greater good. :grin:
I think it would be a good idea to at least try to nib the zombie outbreak in the bud.
My clue about PZ has to do with the role's name by the way, so I'm fine with a name claim.

I was making a Dawn of the Dead Jack O'Lantern (best I could off the top of my head so I'm sure it isn't perfect, plus I was using only a few basic kitchen knives...but it worked out well enough, I guess). Thing is, about halfway through I realized in honour of "Community" doing their zombie homage, I should've made the silhouettes in the pattern of the cast from the episode.

Still kicking myself for missing such a fun idea.

I think it was a clever way to sow confusion, personally. Spread a bunch of accurate but misleading clues. Stuff that everyone might not know off the top of their head but has to be pieced together. Finding patient 0 shouldn't be easy in a game like this.
