WHY is R Invisible Girl so underused???

R Invisible Girl must be the most underused character in heroclix. 37 points, 18 defence with defend, stealth... she is better than Invisible Woman and costs less than half as much! Plant her in hindering terrain, surround her with friendly figs, and one of 2 things will happen:

#1: Your opponent will be driven insane by needing to hit an 18 defence on every attack and will quickly lose...

or

#2: Your opponent's V Ultron (surrounded by SHIELD snipers) will turn your team into one huge crater with one hit.

It will be a quick game either way... :rolleyes:

Most people know this already, and she isn't underused. She's definitely one of the top five figures in Clobberin Time-no question.

Yeah, I haven’t really heard of a shortage of teams using her. The biggest strategic mistake I see people make is that they’ll have a team that can base her and the person she’s defending, and yet they don’t attack her. If you have the choice, she’s a much bigger threat – hit her once, and you no longer have to deal with her 18 defense. Hit her friend, and you’ll need to make the same hard-to-hit roll the next round.

In "Crossover" games, I put Invisible Girl Rookie surrounded by 8 Checkmate Vet Medics.

It's a fairly well armed mobile field hospital !

We call it "The Terrapin" as opposed to "the Tortoise" which is the Prof X/Black Spidey defence...

Rookie Invisible Girl...on every team.

A strategy I enjoy using with Inv. Girl is using her with characters with Eng. Shield def. and keep those characters in hindering terrain for a defense of 21. Invisible girl.... I think I love you!

People are already stuck dealing with huge defense values, so you spend 37 points to get her, you can't really move the block with her quickly, and one lucky EE attack wipes her off that click.

I'm not saying she's bad, but she really is a one-trick pony, and in 300 points, she's 1/8 of the build total, and you are limiting your options if you want to take advantage of her powers.

The people who I play with play her alot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Her with Firelord is pretty good combonation....or her with bullseye.................or with someone with impervious............or her with boomerang.........or her with cyclops...............or her with medics and con artists(soon to be).............
Anyway she can be used with so many people that almost whatever team you put her on she will have a use.

Amen to that! I just played in my first tourney last weekend and got my @$$ handed to me by a guy playing V Doom, R Invis Girl and V Vampire Lackey. They completely stifled my E SheHulk/2-V Mandroids combo with IG's 18 def every turn. SH's dumpster went to waste, and I couldn't hit IG with a TK attack to push her away.

I have seen a lot of teams use R invisible girl. And in my opinion it's more overused than under-used. The problem is with using invisible girl is it promotes a defensive team. I think the best defense is a strong offense. I will never pick her in a HtH match, but I might use it for a booster. And I usually have success with opponents that have one. Actually, I don't think I have lost to a team with one. Don't get me wrong I love the scult, it's so cool to have 3 different versions.

Yeah, Rookie Invisible Girl is probably the best defense-based character in the game thus far. No one with the Defender team ability has such a high defense, and with her Stealth ability, it's practically impossible to target her at range, unless your opponent doesn't know what he's doing. I particularly like putting her next to those ranged attackers with low defenses, like Hawkeye, SHIELD Snipers, or Annihilus.

And if you stage it right, she can also block for these fellows, making it impossible for Outwitters and Prob. Controllers to affect the folks next to her. It will always depend on who she's with, and who she's up against, but that's the game we play... otherwise, what would be the point? Just my own far-from-humble opinion. :D

I have to agree. She's far from underused. Put her in hindering terrain and surround her with ranged zappers and you have a nice little tank. Put her next to a 200 or 300 point Sentinel for a 20 defense versus ranged attacks.

Honestly, around here she is used about right.
She was overused one week, then everyone had had an EE team the next week. So now she is used probably by 1-4 people each week.

Great figure, good cost but a supporting figure-- so you have to find the right way to use her.

One of the top pieces in the game.

My problem with the R invis girl is that she has almost no offence so if she is one of your last models in a game you might as well give up now. at least the vet has a decent dial other than her defense score and might be able to do some damage in the 2nd half of a game.

when is sitting next to a medic. As far as that goes I say go right ahead and place your medic right next to IG. MOST of the time medics stay in the back while the heavy hitters do the work. So while she is back there chilling I try to widdle down the attackers and save her for last. Since she does little damage she has no way of breaking past toughness or even close to INV. Now when she is next to a Magneto or a Bullseye thats a totally different story...

I know i am being repititous to all the other replies but invisible girl(R) is definitly not underused... well where i play anyway. the only overused figure i can think of is V firelord

Our local Judge has a EE Smackdown team for people who Turtle. He tricked it out so he is dropping like 6 Damage on the main people he hits and 5 on the others. I haven't seen it in action yet though.

I like to use her in friendly games and group her up with E Doom and a couple Doombots. Then I have Vulture fly Logan around and do collateral damage. Pretty effective

Thank GOD for the no dupes rule when it is in effect.

I never use Invis Girl because you end up turtling around, waiting for your opponent to come to you.

Now, I could see maybe using her in a 4/5 hundred point team and having her to keep your medic or PCers alive, but in a 300 pointer she has no place on my team.

Im all about the offense. I destroyed an Invis girl team with this.

Doombots copied the avenger free move, and I had ultron and the snipers in position on my first turn to launch a dual EE attack for 3 damage on 2 targets, making the damage to many of them, 6. It was all but over for them then. Ivis girl was dead, and it left the rest of the team scrambling around like chickens with their heads cut off.

Next turn, Push, BOOOOOM, Game over

Yes, and it is PRICELESS.

I was called a cheap player for fielding my E ultron team posted above, yet he was the one forcing me to field the team by constantly turtling around, and passing every turn!

Ultron is my hero. :D
