View Full Version : Street Fighter Clix - Preview Soon?

Any guess when we will get a preview?

I can't wait for the preview for Street Fighter Clix! Ryu was always my favorite character to play. But I like Blanka as well. M. Bison rocked too. Ken was cool. Damn... I grew up on those games. And I still own many of them.

I'm a hard core vid gamer... owning over 30 game consoles and over 5,000 games... you can say I'm pretty fanatical about my vid games.

Now if we can only get Mortal Kombat Clix...! Sub-Zero! Fatality! How about Animalities! Babe-alities! Yeah.. that game rocked. Spent so many quarters at the arcade!

So... hopefully SFClix is a collector set and not blind boosters. Give me a nice big collectors set, through in a map, maybe a 3-D object or two, a feat and BFC, and I'm willing so spend a pretty penny!

Honestly, while some people didn't like re-used sculpts a-la Damian Wayne/Robin, Talia, etc...
I would almost find it kind of fitting for re-paints in SF Clix... palette swaps!
Wouldn't mean I'd want 8 "outfits" for each character... maybe even if there were slight dial tweaks to represent the different gameplay styles, or how some games would let you choose a specific power attack for the games that had the charge-up meters.
There's a lot of potentially cool ideas they could do with this set!

VEGA! VEGA! VEGA!

He's the only character that matters.

Given we don't have a street date, or even proper release format information, I think a preview is a bit much to ask. Giant-Sized X-Men is sure to be first, and previews for that are certain to wait until after they release DC 75.

Mind you, we've reached the point where they could preview two DC 75 characters per day and not have the set previewed before it's actually released. GAH! Give us the set lists already! Why be stingy, WK? WE order things based on characters, if you don't tell us what's in the set, we have less reason to order it! SET LIST AND PREVIEWS ALREADY!

Agreed. Without a release date, I'm not certain one can reasonably expect SF previews to start just yet.

That said, I am pretty excited for SF. :classic:

With respect, I don't think WK has needed to spoil set lists for some time. The sets continue to sell out at the distributor level (without full spoilers) and that's really the bottom line, isn't it?

I totally get that folk wanna make informed purchases ahead of time (commiting to pre-sales, etc...), but that doesn't seem to be affecting the overall sales of the sets as they release.

That said, I am totally ready for more previews! :)

I'd settle for a sculpt preview...

Sets sell out at the distributor level, sure, which means WK is accurately estimating the demand for the sets based on the excitement they are generating. Now, if they built up MORE excitement, sooner, selling out might be the least of their worries.

That seems more speculative than what I would base business decisions on at this juncture.

That's just my $.02. One's mileage may vary. ;)

I'd much rather get more DC 75th previews first. After DC75th is released, then we can get a few previews for Street Fighter if that is the interim mini-set between the DC-Marvel intervals.

Kind of like this idea. Opens up the roster a bit more. You could have a "Shinku Hadoken" Ryu with nasty ranged options or a "Shin Shoryuken Ryu" with nasty close options.

How much does it cost them to give us previews or set lists?

How much does it cost them to give us previews or set lists?

Again, I fail to see the how powerful the incentive to do so is.

I'm not debating whether folk want to see the set lists or not. I'm debating the existence of a reason outside of "But I really want to know".

This is such a subjective topic, but I just can't see a strong business reason for it when the sets continue to sell well (at the distributor level anyhow).

At least we're getting previews earlier/more regularly than we have in recent expansions.

My reasoning is, previews and set lists can't cost them much. Business is about weighing cost vs. returns. Even if it doesn't return much, it's bound to return more than the exceedingly minimal cost.

The only thing I can think of that seriously justifies them not providing more information about the sets when they know it is that they are seriously taking the very annoying psychology I presented over in this post (http://www.hcrealms.com/forum/showpost.php?p=5096517&postcount=15).

We only had an announcement. That doesn't mean a release is guaranteed. Just ask Heroes-clix...

Much better explained than my efforts
That would make for a cool idea IMO!

So, we'll FINALLY be able to turn "Marvel vs. Street Fighter" into a board game

Pfft to Akuma. Dan is the real awesome! :knockedou

I really hope they don't personally, Watchmen was out of my price range for one purchase. (I rarely buy bricks)

On a side note, I'm pretty sure wizkids said somewhere that the initial release was one base set and a starter set, so it's getting the Infinity Challenge/Hypertime/Indy treatment.

How much does it cost them to give us previews or set lists?

May I also add to Munchoboy's explanation and say that, as dirty as it sounds, wizkids may need to rely on the ambiguity of what's actually in the set for the initial purchases after release. If a roster isn't popular some people won't buy bricks, or buy any boosters at all. (Singles)

Give me a Cammy in her blue uniform and I will be happy. She is so fun to use in the games.

As far as soon? I don't think so yet. We have little more that just confirmation for the set. I'm with you VGA, but I think it will still be a few months.

Personally i'm more excited about the possibility of other Capcom Fighters being made into Clix. Street Fighter characters, I feel, don't lend them selves out to have a lot of variety dial-wise (with the exception of a few EX: Vega can have B/C/F)

I'd like to see Darkstalker Clix, now there you got a huge pool a diverse charters that would have cool dials. Also for some reason I can't help but think about Marvel vs Capcom when i think of the Street Fighter Clix. You think the coming of Marvel vs Capcom 3 has something to do with the coming of Street Fighter to heroclix?

I'd much rather have just "Capcom" clix than Marvel.

Because let's face it, They day Amaretsu charges and leaps on to Batman only to hear a Phoenix Wright pog yell "Objection!" but is tackled last moment by Spider-Man is the day I can die.

I can't wait either! Ryu is one of my favorites as well. Top 5 all-time favorites: Ken, Ryu, Vega, Fei Long, and Guile!

Juni, R. Mika, Skullomania, Necro, Sean....

I actually play Cammy in 2/4/Alpha/CvS and Necro in 3, though.

Vega and Sean alts.

Just in reference to the Capcom clix idea...we could finally have Megaman. He could steal a power off of someone he KOs. Ah...that'd be sweet.

I'm betting Skullomania won't happen. I'm pretty sure he's one of those characters Capcom somehow lost the rights too.
