Hi!

Can you perplex down your defense value in order to be healed easier by a medic?

Can a perplexed attackvalue of a Sinister Syndicate member share his perplexed attack with any other adjacent friendly Sinister Syndicate member?

Can you perplex down a target's 18 defense to 17 if his 18 is caused by invisible girl standing adjacent to (and behind) the target?

Also, if you are able to perplex down invisible girl from 18 to 17, will her teammates also have just 17 in defense?

You can only use preplex on your turn, and it ends at the end of your turn or the peice heals or takes damage

The Sinister Syndicate answer is a sorry nope. After a good amount of debating on the Judges Forum, Chapeau clarified that it cannot be done. The old ruling upon which this builds:The number value, unenhanced or aided by any power is the only value shared among these figures.applied to the Defenders ability and parallels itself into the Sinister Syndicate, blocking out Perplexed values as sharable.

For support---no. As the PAC says, Support ignores all modifiers, of which Perplex is one.

lol, i read wrong! yes you can if you have clear line of sight witin 10 inchs. they will drop their defence lower if they share with her.

Sorry, to address the last Invisible Girl questions---

Just as with Sinister Syndicate, it is the unmodified value which is shared (unless you are firechaining SinisterSyndicate/Defend/Defender). So if you Perplex down Invisible Girl, the other figures still share her original defense. And you cannot Perplex down the value which a figure is borrowing, either.

Sorry, I missed the judges conference on that sharing Defender/Defend/Sinister Syndicate debate. But just by reading the PAC, I would believe that if you perplexed down Invisible Girl's Defense value, then attacked a character adjacent to her, they would use her defense value (lowered) instead.

My argument is based on this fact. It would be the same as if you did 1 click of damage to her and dropped her defense to a 17, then an adjacent character would only get to use the 17 not the 18 defense value that it was originally.

I'd be interested in reading that thread you talked about earlier HeroComplex, and no I am not trying to get on your bad side by disputing your rulings. Just one person's opinions. ;)

The quoted line from the FAQ above is really the foundation of the whole thing, really. In the end it was just waiting to hear from Chapeau which took precedence---use the actual printed value or the fact that Perplex is meant to change what is actually printed.
