Why Ultimate Green Goblin

I'm guessing most of us have seen the picture of the Green Goblin heroclix that floating around, why (do you think) did they go with the Ultimate Green Goblin? As far I know this is the first Ultimate Heroclix we've gotten. I always assumed we'd just get an Ultimate expansion one day.

Because Regular GG would be so similar to Hobgoblin(my opinion) and that HE'S SO FREAKING COOL!!!

I like him two, I read all the Ultimate titles, I think the Utlimate line is the best comic line aviable today. I just thought/assumed they'd stick with the "normal" Marvel universe and do an Ultimate expanson where we would get figures like Ultimate Green Goblin (and all the rest - like shocker, Wolverine, Thor etc...)

Ultimate Spidey ROCKS! He was my "initiation" into the realm of spidey! I mean, I'd read one graphic novel, and maybe three comics before that, but ULTIMATE SPIDEY IS THE COOLEST! I LOVE how he just cracks jokes all throughout his battle with Ultimate Green Goblin (Who also ROCKS!)! It was GREAT! Ultimates ALL THE WAY!!

I don't know what their approach is when it comes to uniques. At first I thought it was to represent characters as they looked for a brief time in their history (Mr. Fixit, Cyclops ((early)), Batman ((Dark Knight Returns)), Catwoman ((pre-Crisis)), etc.... This is where the Utimate Green Goblin would fit in. But then you have all these other uniques that don't fit in this mold (Medusa, Spiral, Nightcrawler, Red Skull).

Is the Ultimate Green Goblin an arch-enemy of Xplosion's Spider-Man? Wouldn't that make him the Ultimate Spider-Man?

Hobgob is okay but is not so high on Spidey's roster of villains. Green Gob, Venom or Doc Ock deserve the arch-enemy title so much more.

He would be somewhat similar to Hobgob but with greater stats & some slight differences in ability. He was the original & deserves to be made in the mighty _MARVEL_ manner!

I'm kinda disappointed that the AE bases aren't the same color so that the IC spiderman would be AE with Green Goblin, and the Xp Spiderman would be AE with Hobgoblin and that we'd have our first "bad guys" AEs ... Green Goblin vs. Hobgoblin ....

My guess is they made the Ultimate Green Goblin a Unique so they could make the regular Green Goblin a R/E/V figure in a later set.

while we're on the subject, Ult. GG can NOT fly, so I have no idea why he has a flying base.........maybe thats a clue....... :eek:

am I wrong? If we are talking about GG in the Ultimate Spider-Man series he CAN NOT fly.......At least, in issues 6-7 he can't. If he gained new powers later on then I don't know about those.......but he can only jump really high, and should have L/C..........help?

WHY WHY WHY?????

dont get me wrong, the ultimate version is cool, but this die-hard spidey fan is disappointed that the comic version has been passed over in favor if the ultimate version. kinda like with wizkids decision to do the "young vulture" instead of the classic old one.

can someone explain why wizkids would do this? am i the only one disappointed by either one of these incidents?
