Thought this might be a fairly useful poll.
Ignore the other thread, since I screwed up the polling options... :ermm:

Blackest Night, Brightest Day, Jonah Hex, and Watchmen.

Blackest Night, Brightest Day, and Watchmen.

I have not even seen the battlepacks in stores around me!

Copying my answer from the other one:

I got the Classics pack with SI Spidey, Tombstone, and Doc Ock because I didn't have those characters, got the Blackest Night mainly for Hal, Barry and Scarecrow, thinking the map would be better, and the Brightest Day set, again for the map (which is much better) and some of the figures.
Total pass on the others:
Watchmen - too pricey for the only 5 figures I was interested in
Jonah Hex - resounding "meh" in every way, although I do love the concept of film-related action action packs and want them to continue in that vein... just wasn't interested in this one.
Fantastic Four battle packs/rereleased starter - bought the original one, so don't need them
Iron Man battle packs - was going to get the IM/Fury/Monger one, but then got a friend's extra Nick Fury... and didn't really want the other characters all that badly.
Batman Classics Battle Packs - Nope. Maybe if they weren't Alpha figures I would've considered it.
Marvel Classics Fist/Punisher/Iron Man Battle Pack - already had those guys, so no.

I've bought the Watchmen, Brightest Day and Blackest Night sets, but I'm nuts because I am not sold on the fact that any of them were a very good value.

Brightest Day and Blackest Night. I'd like to get Watchmen but don't have the $ for it right now, someday.

11/12/2010, 15:45
Blackest Night you also got the amazing Atom and a powerful Wonder Woman with 4 Clicks of Impervious, 4 Clicks of that junk + 3 Clicks of Invulnerability put fortitude and repulsar shields on her and shes not going anywhere anytime soon ;P

Only issue they need to give one more keyword to each of them I mean come on Green Lantern should be getting Solider, Flash should still be from his own city but that is just minor gripes over a mostly awesome set.

Brightest Day, Blackest Night & Jonah Hex..

Watchmen was too expensive for what it offered..

The Batman Classics were reprinted Batman Alpha pieces(which I have already)

The Marvel Classics were just Secret Invasion.. which I had already..

And I never got a chance to buy the Iron Man Classics.. getting tourny legal versions of those clicks would be great.. even though I have some of them already..

The checklist is missing the other Iron Man Classics 3-pack, the one with Black Widow.

My original reply from the other thread:

Quite a few:

* Blackest Night & Brightest Day
* Watchmen
* Marvel Classics: both Iron Man 3-packs, both FF 3-packs
* Jonah Hex
* DC Classics: Batman 3-pack with Joker

Blackest Night, Brightest Day, Jonah Hex, and Watchmen.

Same for me. I only buy new content. No sense in buying stuff I already have.

BD, BN and Reed/Sue/Doom (needed Doom).

So far only blackest night and brightest day. Was wanting to get the Marvel Classics Reed/Sue/Doom but just have not got to it yet

I voted Blackest Night, Brightest Day, Watchmen, and Jonah Hex. I have most of the rest in one form or another.

While I, personally, have been skipping the other battle-packs, I have been showing a bunch of people how to play at my venue on Sundays since the release of Brave and the Bold. They have been all over the Batman, FF, and Iron Man battle packs. Often we don't even finish their first game before one of them pops over to pick one up.

I have bought (or in the case of Brightest Day, will be buying) anything that isn't a reprint of a figure from an earlier set

I mainly buy the stuff I don't have,.... so I got BN, Watchmen, Johna Hex, waiting to find a BD, and I picked up the Ironman Mega Pack since I did not have a few of the Armor Wars guys.

if it is a reprint, only if I don't have the figures,... if it is new, I will pick one up.

I got the Blackest Night starter, and the Reed/Sue/Doom pack because I had traded away the good Doctor when I initially bought the FF Starter.

I also intend to pick up the Brightest Day pack when I have the $$$ (or can find a trade for the figures I want from it).

I've gotten the top 4 on your list. Brightest Day, Blackest Night, Jonax Hex, & Watchman.

Besides that I have no interest in the classic packs. I dont need any reprinted figures, since I already have the original version.

Brightest Day, Blackest Night, Jonah Hex, Watchmen, and the Iron Man Mega Pak.

Also, historically speaking, Giants, Green Lantern Corps, Invincible, Hellboy and the B.P.R.D., Legion of Super-Heroes, Days of Future Past, Anti-Monitor, and X-Men Danger Room.

I've bought everything but the two mega packs. On the fence as to whether or not I should buy them, though...

11/12/2010, 16:32
Iron Man/Iron Fist/Punisher, Torch/Thing/Mole Man and the Halo Reach Battle Pack (bought 2, they're on their way :D) which isn't heroclix but fits the title question.

LabRat
11/12/2010, 16:40
I only got the Fantastic Four starter. I seldom buy DC - aside from the Fantastic Four starter, everything that's been released recently has been DC related or re-releases of figures that I already have.

I really think they did a great job with Brightest Day. Good figures, good dials, great sculpts, nice map. I also like Blackest night. Awesome sculpts, decent dials, and a cool map (although it would have been nice if it wasn't misprinted). But I don't buy DC clix (I prefer Marvel comics and buying only one universe really keeps my clix spending down). So I wish they'd come out with something similar for Marvel. I'd definitely buy it.

Just Brightest Day, once 75th comes out I'll probably pick up Blackest night as well.

Brightest Day

Blackest Night

Marvel Classics Iron Man/Nick Fury/Iron Monger

I also bought the Marvel Classics Iron Man/Black Widow/Gennady Gavrilov (the other set that made up half of the mega battle pack), but you didn't list that.

And I never got a chance to buy the Iron Man Classics.. getting tourny legal versions of those clicks would be great.. even though I have some of them already..

You do not need the exact classics piece, just the specific figure. If you have the Gennady Gavrilov LE from AW, it is tourney legal again. The veteran Ultimate Black Widow is legal again. The Sinister Fury is legal again.

All of those pieces are good for modern age, even if they are what would otherwise be a golden age piece.

I bought...

Darkest Night=$20
Brightest Day=$20
Watchmen=$80

And I bought all of them from my local venues.

Blackest Night, Brightest Day, Jonah Hex, and Watchmen.

Same here.

Those who want a "Movie Pack" of their favorite movies should show
Wizkids that it is worth making them by buying Jonah Hex and other packs.

Yah, if a fig only has one keyword (or even worse - none)
I always wonder what other keywords it could have had.

I get that. It's a dilemma for me - do I waste money on something I really, really don't want and definitely will never use just to encourage the possibility of similar products? Or do I just take that money and buy something else that actually appeals to me? Or better yet, just keep it?
I really don't like the idea of buying just for the sake of buying. I'm more of the belief that I'll buy it if I like it.
On the other hand, I totally get that if nobody buys it, they'll consider it a failed experiment and reconsider releasing anything else along those lines.
So that's why I try to voice my opinion whenever possible - that I love the idea of battle packs in general, especially for small, specific licenses... just not that particular one. Hate the movie, not big on the clix.
And yes... I admit that including Megan Fox as a character goes a long way towards my opinion being what it is, as I refuse to support anything involving that vacant mannequin of a celebrity.

I bought the Iron Man Mega Battle Pack and played against a friend while we were in line for the midnight show of Iron Man 2, We were also fielding the FCBD War Machines in our teams.

I also bought both the Blackest Night and Brightest Day packs because I'm a fan of Johns's run on Green Lantern

BN, BD, WM, & Hex.

Plus the IM packs with Fury & Widow - because I needed one of each for a mod (&, with my discount, it was just cheaper to pick these packs up where I work than ordering them off T&T, EBay, or such)

Same here.

Those who want a "Movie Pack" of their favorite movies should show
Wizkids that it is worth making them by buying Jonah Hex and other packs.

Or they can realize that a character like Iron Man, Thor, Cap, Green Lantern, etc will have more appeal to comics fans, thus likely more appeal to players, and they can try again when those movies hit, all of which will likely do better at the box office than Jonah Hex.

If Wizkids wants to pull the plug on the idea after poor sales on an action pack based on a fringe comic property released after the movie had already departed some theatres because of it's poor box-office showing, then that is their problem.

Seriously. They can get their act together and the wednesday before or after Thor comes out, they can have a pack with a new Thor, Loki, and Jane Foster in stores.
They can do the same with GL and Cap, and then they will see some better numbers.

Between releasing it several weeks after the movie came out and choosing such an obscure comic film as a test, along with the terrible box office numbers, I do not know how Wizkids could think that that set was a fair test of future performance.

None.

I haven't read Blackest Night/Brightest Day, so I have no interest in these.
I don't know Jonah Hex at all.
I'd have bought the Watchmen if it had been based on the comic books.
The rest are reprints, and either I already own the figs, or don't care about them.

I would have purchased the Batman battle packs, if it WASN'T Batman alpha reprints. WHY was it alpha? They are still easy to buy, most pieces aren't overly great, is STILL legal in modern age. It was a waste, a terrible terrible waste.

Brightest Day - To be honest, the only reason I really picked this up is because I also bought Blackest Night and for new maps. I didn't really care for any of the characters.

Blackest Night - It was this set that got me back into Heroclix after putting the game down years ago. I was at a hobby shop trying to find a new game to play, since Star Wars Miniatures was coming to an end. I saw the detail of these figures are was really impressed with them and decided to give the game another chance.

Johan Hex - I never cared for the character and never saw the movie but I bought it because it was on clearance when I bought it.

Watchmen - I am a massive Watchmen fan and even though I feel the set could have been better and that it was far too expensive I still bought it.

I just used all 3 figs on a 'Past' team over the weekend.

Elite Sniper on Hex, (or Trickshot if u want)
and Contingency on Turnbull.
Enhance for 15 points.

I knew it wasn't a 'Championship' team,
but it did allright.

I probably wouldn't like Megan Fox's personality much,
but I would like to date her for the weekend.

Yes, the movie was bad.

Yes, the charaacter isn't Supes or Spider,

but do you remember just a couple of years ago, we had no new clicks
and maybe it looked like we would never get new clicks again?

The Hex comics are pretty good,
and I remember liking the character in my childhood.

The figs are fairly good, and the pack is cheap enough.

I like to buy all new clicks.
And ttry to use most of the average and above ones.

I hope the Thor, Cap, GL movies are all good.
And of course make money (so more similar are made).

I hope the 'Battle Packs' are released the Wednesday before they open.

Blackest Night - Starter, so of course I bought it. Used the Wonder Woman on an Amazon team and a few others as a team.

Brightest Day - Bought it mostly to use the characters as regular versions of themselves, but played four of them on a Brightest Day theme. Very glad to have Osiris, especially with Isis coming up.

Jonah Hex - Bought it, but haven't found a team for any of the three figures yet. Probably work Jonah and Lilah into one of my Rip Hunter "Time Squads."

Watchmen - Bought it and played Watchmen teams a couple times. Slightly disappointed by now at the incompleteness of the other teams and the lack of keywords on the duos, though.

Iron Man/Nick Fury/Iron Monger pack - Three pieces that were "new to me." Played Fury on a modern age Ultimates theme team, and I'll probably work that Iron Man into a team at some point in the future.
