View Full Version : The reasoning for Iceman having flight is...

Hey, sorry to explain this, I know most people understand why they gave him flight but there are some who are so annoyingly adamant about how since he doesn't fly in the comics, he shouldn't fly in the game.

He can create large ice sleds at will. I've read some issues where he got his sleds as high as tall skys####ers (explains hovering to soaring). Sometimes one of the X-Men will ride with him by grabbing him around the waist, like when there are two people riding a motorcycle(taxi). So can he fly like Superman does? No way. Can he "fly" within the context of the game of heroclix? ABSOTOOTLY!!!

Now, onto the "Well if Iceman can fly, Spider-Man should too" people. Don't get me wrong, I love Spidey. Yes, he has webs. Yes, sometimes he carries someone. But stick him in the middle of the sahara or even, say, Kansas, and see what happens. What the hell is he going to webswing from? A cactus? A cow? Nothing! Not one thing! Iceman can be anywhere and still self generate sleds from the ground up. Even if they are destroyed during flight he can still generate another before he hits the ground.

And no matter what, Iceman can fly in Heroclix, now and forever. No matter how much some people complain. :D

Seeing as how Iceman creates his ice from moisture in the air, he'd be equally unable to "soar" in the sahara desert as Spiderman. :D

In fact, in theory, in a desert with 0% humidity, Iceman would be completely unable to use his powers.

Good point, but Iceman still flies.:D

You got my support ledboy. Just because someone has a flying base doesn't mena they can fly, it just means they can get someone from point A to point B.

ICeman Flying is a old discussion. If Mojo can fly so can Iceman with ease.

Gotta back ledboy1 up on this; half the time on "Spider-Man & his Amazing Friends" Spidey would tag along with Iceman on his sled (probably to save on web-fluid :D )

My point exactly, shin-goji. I just get so tired of hearing people bash Jon L and the rest of the folks at wizkids for "screwing up" figs or saying they aren't true to the character simply because the fig doesn't live up to a person's biased expectations. Cyclops is my fave X-man. If I had the chance, would I tweek his stats? Of course, because I love the character so much I probably wouldn't make him as fair as he is now. So I don't whine about it, I put him in my teams, and I have fun. I leave the reasonings and rule makings to Wizkids. If you don't like a fig, don't use it!I'm happy that a Cyclops fig (as well as all the X-Men and other cool superheros and villians) was made and I can play him in a game. Before Heroclix, I had never played any type of CCG or collectable tabletop games. I got into Heroclix because I am a comic book geek, and the thought of playing with some of the most fascinating fictional characters ever written brings a sparkle to my right eye.

Heroclix Rocks.

And Iceman flies.

Oh, in response to KaiserSelroc's post, Iceman would still have power in the desert because of underground lakes, cactus and other limited vegetation in the desert to sap moisture from. This was explained in a special story showing Iceman's powers waaaaay back in X-Men #47 (I don't own the issue, but the reprint of Giant Size X-Men with the intro of the new team has the story reprinted). I know it's a "comic book" excuse, but an excuse none the less. Remember, suspension of disbelief!

X-plosion rocks.

It's perfectly reasonable for Iceman to have flying.
