I originally posted this in the Artisans Guild, now I am posting it here to try to get some more people interested.

I've been working on stats for a bunch of characters I want to see and kept thinking , "I won't ever be able to play these in a tournament". Well, I won't accept that. I have decided to run my own tournament for modded characters. Obviously this will NOT have normal prize support. The prizes (and there will be prizes) will be uniques/LE's from my own collection. So far the only piece that I have aquired to be a prize is a Mr. Fixit, and I hope that most of the others will be LE's, but we'll see. I am planning to hold it at the Game Parlor in Chantilly Viriginia. It will be in a month or two (probably two) and the date has not been set yet.

Here are the guidlines:
Built Points will be either 400 points, minimum of 300 points modded figures or 600 points, minimum of 500 points modded figures. Which it will be is up to the players at this point.

3-4 games, most wins takes it, ties goes to points.

When I refer to modded characters I mean characters who have had thier dials changed. To make it fair all dials will be run through the same point generating formula created by Retardog, as put into spreadsheet by Enigma (thanks both of you, not possible without you two). Putting a new sculpt on an unaltered dial does not count.

You have to email me the stats for your characters and I will run them through the spread sheet and tell you the point value. The range, number of arrows, team ability, stats and powers on the dial must conform to what you send me, if they don't that character doesn't get played. Also I do NOT have a laptop so there will be no last minute calculations or changes just before the tournament starts. You can make up new teams, but if you paint a new team symbol on the dial you must email me a jpeg of it so that I can print up copies of it so to hand out so that everyone at the tournament will be able to tell what it does. Flying characters do have to have a flying base.

Here are the limits on stats
Move max of 20, any speed of 15 or higher requires Hypersonic
Attack max of 15
Defense max of 21
Damage max of 5
Range max of 10, must be in multiples of 2
Arrows max of 3
no negative values
no new powers, only one power per stat per slot, ie no charge and leap/climb on the same click
the team abilities allowable are:
Free Move (aka Avengers)
Share Attack (aka Batman Enemy)
Share Defense (aka Defenders)
Paired Outwit (aka Superman Enemy)
Stealth (aka Batman Ally)
Ingnore Hindering (aka Superman Ally)
Heal When Dropped (aka Fantastic Four)
Raise Ranged Attack (aka Hydra)
Raise Ranged Damage (aka Shield)
Wild Card (aka Minion of Doom)
Heal (aka X-Men)
Shape-Change (aka Skrull)
Sorry, no Mystic or GL
I don't care what you call the team, but no new types of team abilities.
No Large Figs, sorry best of my nowledge there is no good points formula for them yet. If I am wrong tell me and I will look into it.

As a courtesy to those of you who are as bad as me a sculpting/moddling I will not be requiring that you do any moddling, I don't care what figure is on the base or even if there is a figure on the base. Just so long as the base conforms to the stats you send me.

There is house rule. First when determining starting position, player 1 picks map and side, then player two picks edge, then

There may or may not be scenarios, but probably not since this will likely be your first time playing most of these figs and it will be easier if it is streight up brawl.

The point cost are what I set them at, period. This is to make it fair since ALL figures will be using the same system.

If you are intersted please post and then email me the stats for your characters. If you do not have the characters ready yet post saying that you will email them to me when they are ready. Title all email regarding this "Mod Tournament", emails with other titles may get erased as junk mail. And if you find this interesting PLEASE post something so that it will stay up there and other can read it.

Also a note on the prizes, the way I will do it is 1st place gets first choice of prizes, Best Stats/Powers (player vote) gets second choice, Sportsmanship (player vote) gets third choice and 2nd places get the remaining figure. I will do my best to get good figures. Also I am not a registered judge, but I could probably get qualified if I really wanted to and the judge who usually runs for me is planning to be there.

Hope to see you there

I am very interested in this... I live in Manassas and frequent Game Parlor on a regular basis.

I have been moding my own figures for fun and have created half of what I hope to create of Alpha Flight. I think the ones I have now total 386 from Retardog's formula from about a month ago.

When are you thinking this would happen?

sigh.. I hate to have to say it, but due to lack of interest it looks like the tournament won't happen. At least not for some time, but that can change (by popular demand). Also a friend of mine mentioned some interesting alternate ideas.

I would be interested except for the fact I live in Illinois and have no reason to go to Virginia. I would be very interested in seeing what figure won, the best mods and various dials. I think it is a great idea.
