It seems every really fun fig is OVER PRICED.

VET thor

VET DOOM

Vet Ultron

Vet Doomsday

Vet Superman

Vet Batman

VET KANG

VET IRONMAN!

Non are worth there pts! 2 firelords would own them for CHEAPER!!!!! and you wouldn't even have to use firelords. I argee they are powerful but pushing them is stupid so that means they stand around every second turn and with there high values they count for 3 to 4 figs in your team. I know this is a rant but i play with my friends offten and when one of us uses a big fig they lose. I know there will be stories i one won this with a thor etc..... But still a fig to cost over 150 needs willpower or something cause they just get gang RAPED

We so need an Anti-whine filter. ;)

alright...

all im sayin is, r u using them in 300ish point games?
if so then i can see them getting overpowered because i see them being more effectively used in larger point games IMHO

I think we really need

an anti-anti whine filter

Just cause i voice my opinion and my expriences doesn't make me a whiner. I Love the game, I just get upset with there balancing issuses.

Of course is doesn't..heh.

But seriously.. look around the boards for five minutes, three out of five posts are a complaint about something, even you can't tell me that such a filter wouldn't improve this board considerably. ;)

Ahh, if only such technology existed..heheh.. anyways.

Ahem. Balance issues? Impossible.

The same figures that I'm allowed to play with, you are allowed to play with, making the game evenly balanced.

Now, let's continue with the idea behind the game. It's meant for fun. (One of the reasons Judges don't report the wins/loses to WizKids) It's not meant to be as competitive. But of course, that's never the way it ends up, is it? Heh.

So..Venom.. let's say in the next set they make.. Oh... I don't know... Venom. ;)

And he's pricey, and 'imbalanced' as you'd claim those in the original post to be.

Would you:

A.) Take him, accept him, love him, even with his faults.

or

B.) Prefer him to never be made.

It just seems to me that 'Fans' of certain characters want it all for 'their character'.. ..they yell and complain for months that they haven't come out with them, and when they are released.. more yelling and complaining.

I say.. be happy with what we are offered. But many seem too selfish to allow this to happy. Mind you, I've strayed off topic a bit. You personally haven't displayed this, as of yet. But still.. let's just be happy with what we get, eh? ;)

I'm overly happy that Destiny was in the set, though she was actually represented beautifully, if you ask me, so I had nothing to complain about. Sauron, not on the Brotherhood.. eh.. ah well, just glad he's here. (Will still put him in my Brotherhood team.)

In any case.. good Gaming.

I myself am a BIG Defenders fan and am happier than a pig in dung that two more of my faves were released... But the balancing thing, Come On Now the figs. you listed are cost effective. Pay the points or don't use 'em. If I run a force of Masters of Evil that is over 200pts. I'll always run with a vet. Ultron... He is worth the points hands down.

But Firelord, master of the broken figs. I'd Never use him. I whooped him(V) with a Doc Ock(V) and an Aim Agent(V) in a 300 pt. tourney using mostly Sindicate Members...

Need more Defenders, even if they suck rocks I'll still play them

saying FL is balanced because I can play FL too is definately not true !!
I don't want to play FL, because I don't even know where he's coming from.

you said: great Destiny and Sauron are here (and they are), BUT why don't you say something aboot Mystique ?!
is it because that would be a complaint (or was that part filtered out ?:D )

Well I played Dr.Doom and other bigger figs with some succes, you just have to play them in the 400/500+ games: the way Heroclix was meant to be played IMHO.

200/300 points is the way Mageknight plays in tournaments, but since HC has less figs(for the points) and all figs cost more points then the MK figs it should be played at higher point games (also in tournaments !!)

But in most comic books, battles tend to happen between groups of 3-6 people on either side, which is exactly what you end up with in Clix.

and IF you translate those same figs/groups/teams into HC you end up with 400/500 point teams with 6 figs !!

I'm not saying there aren't ANY cheap figs, I'm saying figs like Thor,Dr.Doom and teams involving them need to be 400+ points to work properly.

WK is hanging on to much to MK where the figs where optimized for 200 build totals in HC.

you'll see in 400 points FL would just be overshadowed by the bigger guns (like Kang !!), because then they could be fielded like they should.

I don't understand what all the whining is about. It is not the cost you should be complaining about. It is your lack of stratagy, instead. Every figure has the potential to win the game. If you rush your Inivs Woman out into the middle of the board, she will get b2b with an enemy on the next turn and get roasted. If you drop Thor right in middle of Black Panther and Wolverine, he will get wailed on. You have to know how to use the figure and all of his/her abilites to their fullest. There is no one figure that will die every time you use them simply because "He cost too much". If your stratagy never changes, then he always dies because "I'll drop him right inbetween your 3 BCF'ers".

I can't count the times that I've heard people whine "Such&such always gets killed right off the bat when I use him." Change your stratagy, people. Quit complaining about your problems. It is not how the figure works, its how you play them. Learn from your mistakes and quit griping about how you lose everytime you use the same team with the same tactics. Change your team. Change your tactics. Balance can only be achieved through learning right from wrong. Moral of the story - "Every time you get your @ss handed to you, take responsibility and change your tactics. Don't come and complain that you lost. Fight a second time and come tell us how you won, instead."
