Questions regarding the Giant Sized X-Men set:

How many figures are going to be in the "Super Booster"?
Will the figures in the "Super Booster" take up common or super-rare slots?
Will we be able to readily purchase the "Super Boosters" separately?
How many figures will be in the set?

How many figures are going to be in the "Super Booster"?

We Don't know yet

We Don't know yet

Will we be able to readily purchase the "Super Boosters" separately?

Answer- not really. Venues can order only 1 extra super booster for each brick ordered (if they don't order them initially, they are SoL and can't order more). So one case= only an extra 2 super boosters that can be ordered. I suspect that super boosters will be gone from most venues within the first day.

How many figures will be in the set?

We don't know yet.

There is nothing confirmed yet but speculation is:
1. One Giant clix or perhaps a completed team no confirmed numbers though
2. It was stated there would be 8 different Super Boosters with exclusive content
3. Stores can order 1 extra SB for every brick or case can't remember for sure.
4. 60 piece set, not sure if it includes the SB content

The best place for the info we have is Suttkus's thread titled "The Evidence : Giant Sized X-Men". He's done a great job compiling known information all in the opening post.

3. Yes.

I dunno- I don't think 1 extra booster for each brick ordered counts as 'readily available'. Consider that any generic sentinels (or any colossal figure for that matter) in those boosters will have a chase-like rarity:

reported: 8 possible combinations of Super Booster contents

Assume 1 of those combos are a generic sentinel

If no extra super boosters are ordered by the venue, odds of getting a generic sentinel in a SB= 1 in 4 cases

If a venue orders every extra SB they can, odds of getting a generic Sentinel= 1 in 2 cases (old chase rarity).

Add that these are figures that are going to be wanted in multiples= $60-$80 sentinels on the secondary market.

I am reminded of the SWM Rancor. But most SWM players only wanted one.

Pretty sure any Sentinels will go straight to trading for me. They'll be too in-demand to justify holding on to them.

I've asked Alliance about this, and I don't think this comment about ordering initially is correct. At the very least we don't know yet. Bottom line, they'll be producing a lot of "extra" super-boosters and if they're not all ordered initially they will still be available for sale somehow.

I do think stores will underorder them in general.

1 per 2 cases for a specific figure is Super Rare rarity, not chase rarity.

I presume that retailers will still break up bricks to sell individual boosters, and while the super-boosters will command a fair amount of interest, the (approx) $24 price tag will keep a reasonable share of them on the shelves I'm sure. Once the initial fervor dies down, folk will still have an opportunity to purchase the super boosters.

Looking over that "The Evidence : Giant Sized X-Men" thread, it seems the SB's are 1 of 8 colossals + team boosters.

If we assume 8 colossal variations and 2 'team boosters'- that's 10 combinations of SB's (also assuming that the original announcement of 1 extra SB for each brick ordered- if more become available, that's awesome)

So without ordering extra SB's a Sentinel will be 1 per 5 cases

With ordering extra SB's for each brick, they will be one in every 2.5 cases- which is a bit closer to chase rarity. Even if they are SR rarity, that's gonna equate to high dollar value on the secondary market for a figure that you are going to want at least 2-3 of.

I'm in complete agreement about the desirability and that they'll be expensive. How expensive and how difficult the supply will depend a lot on how desirable the other giants are. If half of them or more are of the "darn, another xxxx" variety, then opening Super-Boosters will drop of quickly after release and the generics will be very expensive. If they're all cool, and highly tradable more will hit the market.

I also had thought that there were 8 Giants plus "team" SBs, but going back to the announcement they said that there would be exactly 8. "There are 8 different Super Boosters (all of which are blind and have unique content)."
This, of course, means that either there will be some SBs without a giant figure, or some teams will include a giant figure.

Bottom line, if you double up your SB to brick order you should get a set in 2 cases + 4 extra SBs.

I think the point cost of the giant figures will come into play on their desirability, at least in the case of generics like the Sentinels. If the Sentinels are scalable like the old ones (with a 100 and 200 or 300 point versions on the same dial), they'll be even more in demand as you can field a bunch of them. If they're set at 300 or 500 points, I think most people won't want more then 1 or 2 of them.
