"The Giant-Size X-Men set is so huge that we had to design a completely new type of blind booster, the Super Booster, to hold the Giant figures that are a part of this release such as iconic X-Men duo figures

That's one strike against it for me -- or perhaps just one in the direction of Brave and the Bold, with the potential of delivering even better on the secondary market. I'm highly unlikely to want them (a Kitty & Lockheed Duo would be agreeable, as would a "Douglock", but not much else), so maybe they'll turn out to be (economically) a good thing for me in the end.

the Horseman of the Apocalypse
It's going to depend in part on which ones. Not that I expect to aim for the complete set, but I'll be interested to see what the complete Horsemen plus Apocalypse add up to as a (presumed) team.

Nemesis
This is the character with the ultra-thin blade capable of slicing through anything?

Onslaught
Part of the '90s I wish could be wiped away. Again, potentially a piece I'll be able to turn around quickly and nicely on the secondary market should I pull one. It won't matter how nice the piece looks or how it plays, my interests in the game are entirely comics and character-driven and whenever I see Onslaught I think of '90s distorted art sensibilities and the gateway to the Heroes Reborn mess. There's just no interest there for me.

, and the Sentinels!"
The one in the mix I'm most likely to keep should I pull it. Given that these will only be in super boosters, though, it isn't as if it's going to be reasonable for me to aim for a trio of them. Should I pull one he may be fated to mostly join the two, earlier Sentinels I'd gotten as dust-catching display pieces.

In any event, thanks for the information. Rep forthcoming to all applicable parties.

My above comments are completely subjective and not intended to be rain on anyone's parade. It's always fun to see people finally get characters they've been waiting for, even in the cases where I don't care about or even actively dislike the characters in question. While the set's still mostly unknown to us - including all of the specifics of rarity - I suspect they'll have a winning sales formula here. This is a likely one to set a new high bar for Heroclix sales.

Much as there always is amongst the Super Rares in a set, I'll be interested to see how the secondary market value of the Super Booster contents shakes out. Will it be inevitable that two or three of them will be the closest things to golden tickets in the set while others will be "Oh, ####!" moments as the person opening realizes he's not going to be able to trade it for the ones he really wants? Probably, as that's almost inevitable, but maybe that will work out better than expected.

Hopefully they had the sense to include at least 4, solid, generic Commons to help drive sales - preferably borrowing from sub-themes, too - and give people that sense that they're not just buying packs of pieces they no longer want just because they're chasing down the high-end ones. That they have someone in here like Madrox makes this even easier, the presumption being that he'll have a Common version, too.

So far, despite any negative points in the above, it's still looking as if two cases (financial situation depending) seems a likely target for me. Recouping some, most or even all of the outlay via the secondary market seems likely, and the set does seem to require the casting of a broad net.

Still, that's off in March.

Ugg a very underwhelming sculpt for the brick figure (and also makes one in the set much less likely)

And Nemesis really?? I hope is really Holocaust but obviously they cant use that name for sensitivity reasons

"iconic X-Men duo figures" - thats a let down. I was hoping we would only be stuck with the Wovie Colossus duo. Disappointed to hear they added more suck to the set. I guess we can expect a Cyclops / Marvel Girl duo and maybe a Wolvie / Jubilee?

Excitement has been dialed down a bit for fear we will get multiple Duos.

Nemesis was also what he was called prior to being ripped apart by Magneto, which is what necessitated the "Holocaust" armor in the first place. Makes sense to call him by either name and I can see why WK/Marvel would want to use the potentially less offensive moniker.

Still liking this set a lot.

The duo mention doesn't really bother me.

Logan and Collosus,
Kitty and Lockheed,
Mulitiple Men,
even AoA Sabertooth and Wildchild

All seem reasonable to me. It's not like they are saying that we are getting 10+ duos.

But I do cringe a bit at the possibility of a Scott and Jean duo.

Overall I'm good with a few in there.

Iconic X-men duos: Hrmm. Hope it's not another BatB thing. I'd be ok with Fastball Special and Kitty & Lockheed. Maaaybe Cyke and Jean. Hopefully they won't go overboard.

Horseman: Sure. Hope it's a nasty dial.

Nemesis: Don't know who this is. Help?

Onslaught: Never read his story arc, but from what I gather it's probably for the best. I'd be perfectly happy just playing him in clix form, assuming he's a powerhouse.

Sentinels: Really glad about this, hope the dials are great. The things they can do these days with 100 points gives me a lot of hope.

Brick Fig: No complaints. If the dial is cool, it'll be just enough incentive for me to get a brick.

I’m torn here. Yeah, I’d like to see another classic Angel like the Danger Room, with Champions Keyword, and given my choice with the blue variant of that particular uniform. But even more, I’d want a First Class Angel to complete the team. And given that we are getting the Horsemen, I guess that means we’re definitely getting another metal-winged version of him, which would be the one I think we need least. The Mutations and Monsters figure filled that niche nicely. But if that’s virtually a given and I don’t think they’ll do three Warrens in one set, I’d choose First Class over Champions era Angel.

Please do give me an Avengers TA Beast though. With that 80s era look. They could duo him with Wonder Man even if they feel compelled to do more duos, though a single version would be preferable.

Now be fair, the “10 White Lanterns” announcement was a valid reason to b@@@@. Before it was revealed that they were all going to be chases, we were looking at the prospect of fully one-sixth of a set that was supposed to be a tribute to DC’s long and rich history being devoted to these modern one-shot, blink-and-you-missed-it versions of characters that were mostly already very well represented in the game to begin with.

GSX seems eerily similar to Mutations and Monsters (which is a good thing).

Apocalypse and Onslaught giants = WIN.

I'm hoping for a standard-sized Sentinel Mark I in the common slot to act as Minions for the Mark V, as well as Multiple Men commons.

Stop it!! It's way more likely Horseman was misspelled than that abomination of a sentence your dreaming of. It makes know sense the way you're trying to read it, and that would be a much worse grammar mistake than a simple misspell.

Anyone else think Madrox looks like the white guy from the USA hit tv show "Psyche"?

And I am with everyone in wanting a Champions/Defenders era Angel, a Black Widow with the Champions keyword, and a triple team ability (either on dial or through trait) Avengers/Defenders/X-Men "Classic" Beast.

As far as duo's go, I wouldn't mind seeing Kitty and Lockheed and AOA Sabretooth and Wildchild. I wouldn't mind Cyke and Jean as a duo if it's circa the end of the Dark Phoenix Saga on the blue area of the moon.

One duo we need in the set however: FENRIS!!! Perfect time for the Strucker twins.

And as far as generics, I can almost guarentee Hellfire Club guards. Other then them, I would like to see Friends of Humanity thugs, "The Right" organization agents, Bastions "Purifieres" or "Zero Tolerance" human sized OMAC like sentinels from the "Zero Tolerance" X-Men arc.

My inner X-Geek is coming back out with this set. I thought he was gone once I dropped the X-Books a few months ago...

Now take a look at them sculpts...

Now THAT'S Heroclix!!!

Even Iceman just standing there is dynamic.

Wizkids!!! You officially have no excuse for the crappy sculpts we've been getting anymore!!!

BibtB figure - Jamie Maddrox [Multiple Man]

WHY? He is "Multiple Man" a BibtB figure. Everyone is going to want multiples. The set looks really cool & I like what they have shown so far except BibtB figure.

Unless he's stupid good like he may re roll a failed shape change roll a number of times per turn equal to the number of friendly Multiple Men on the battle map. Or Trait give the charactor power action, place Jamie Maddrox in a square occupied by a friendly Multiple Man, and place that friendly Multiple Man in the square Jamie Maddrox once occupied ignoring break away rules and plasticity. This charactor automatically breaks away if adjacent to a friendly Multiple Man

Well, everyone was crying like little #####es when they had more Ragnarok Surturs then they knew what to do with when the BBB was instore last time. So Wizkids made it a fig that makes sense to play multiples of. Makes sense to me.

Well, obviously, WizKids is hoping you'll buy enough bricks to fuel your Maddrox cravings. How many will you need? Six? Ten? Twenty? BWA HA HA HA HA HA!

But, personally, I'm hoping the brick fig is a unique Maddrox that will enhance the common Maddri that will be in the set. PLEASE LET THERE BE A COMMON MADDROX!

Street Date is March 16th. Start saving your pennies.

Actually, forget the pennies and start saving twenties!

Wohoo right after my Birthday I should have plenty, darn you NECA for hitting me with my X-Men then.

Maybe we'll finally get an Albert and Elsie Dee duo. It would be the bomb. Lord, I apologize for my horrible pun.
Repped and quoted for truth.
