View Full Version : Giant Size X-Men OP Kit info
Quite frankly I'm not up on current comic storylines and wouldn't be the best one to guess what all these items will be. So I leave it up to you.
Here's the official solicitation info on the OP kit...
Marvel HeroClix: Giant-Size X-Men Organized Play Kit contains everything a retailer needs need to bring HeroClix players into their store for weekly events - including new limited edition figures, 3-D objects, maps and more!
Each OP Kit include prizes to run 10 weeks of events, with each week giving away prizes for 1st and 2nd place, a fellowship drawing and a judge reward. A suggested schedule and format guide makes it easy for stores to run HeroClix organized play for the first time.
OP kits are intended for tournament play and NOT FOR RESALE.
2 Giant-Size X-Men Cases - 1st OP Kit
7 Giant-Size X-Men Cases - 2nd OP Kit
12 Giant-Size X-Men Cases - 3rd OP Kit
No retail store location may order more than 3 OP Kits total.
Each OP Kit Contains:
15 Limited Edition figures, 18 3-D objects. 10 Maps, 1 Instruction Sheet
(contents subject to possible changes)
____________
I'm just glad the maps are back up to 10.
First and second and Fellowship and Judge? And yet neither 15 nor 18 is divisible by 4, so, again, someone is getting maps as prizes. Ugh.
Still, Rep to Comical for posting, and I'll add it to The Evidence thread.
Edit: Weirdness. I clicked to rep you, Comical, but the computer told me I couldn't rep your post twice. No clue what happened there.

It looks like a total of 43 items, including the 10 maps.
That would leave 10 weeks (including 7 maps as prizes), plus 3 extra maps for store use if you stick with their plan.

im just curious... when does the giant sized xmen come out?
Im only asking because isnt the DC75 set coming out first? My local comic store told me they havent gotten any ordering info for DC75 , either the main set or the prize kits, as of yet.
IT seems weird to me their is info for the xmen set but not for the DC set.. especially if its coming out first.. (DC first..)
Ps. im not knocking your info, im just wondering why my store doesnt seem to know anything about the DC set...
thanks for the info!

Wow... upping the required purchased cases to 2 case for the first, 7 for the second OP kit and 12 for the 3rd?

sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but your store is simply not paying attention. Solicitations for DC75, which is due out Dec. 15, have been out for 4 months. At this point orders from NECA wouldn't be guaranteed availability, but Alliance would still be fine on the cases. I don't know if they'll still have OP kits, though.
GSX is due March 16. NECA order deadline for GSX is Jan. 7.
I will say that Diamond isn't very good about clix, it seems, and since you are getting them from a comic store they're probably ordering from Diamond. Just tell them to call it in ASAP.

This is not an increase. These have been in place at these levels since B&B.

OK. For some reason I thought it was 1, 3, 7 since HoT.

were you able to order "Cases"? My venue is ordering through Diamond and they were told they come in bricks and 4 "bricks" would get them an OP kit. They were told cases were not an option this time.
if the judges want the le figures then they can play for it like our judge does:mad:

It's usually 2 Bricks per case now Diamond might have a different method of packing depending on how little product a store gets

Yeah, because judges are only interested in this game for the LEs. :cheeky: Nevermind the work most of them do trying to promote the game to new players, scheduling events and coordinating them with the venue owners.
Play for the LE? Not always possible for me. On those days when I do get a bye round I still get interrupted with at least two dozen questions from other players regarding rules, etc. If I had to play to win an LE after providing maps, scoresheets, handling the event scheduling, and answering other players' questions, I'd just give up and buy the damn fig on eBay. :tired:
I am hoping for a Dracula and some Vampires in this set. Maybe an LE of Xarus

QFT - I could just buy a kit and stay at home and play with some friends. But instead I schedule and run events. Help the venue with amount of product to order and wrangle players in and try and recruit new ones.

Christ...VERY glad I go to a pretty self-sufficient venue.
Hopefully there will be 2 different Maps here as well. There are so many thematic Maps that could be made for this one
X-Mansion
Utopia
Sentinel Factory
Danger Room (with Traps)
Genosha
DoFP Camp
Morlock Tunnels
Savage Land

I know it has always been two brick per case and I have always been able to preorder a case through my venue, however this time he was told he could only order bricks so I am a bit confused on that.
