View Full Version : Silly Orange Lantern constructs

I plan on playing Larfleez and I really love the powers, but I hate seeing excessive amounts of pogs on the field. So I made up some weird aliens and plan to get them in clear orange plastic. I'm still working out the details on where to find a place that will print in clear orange (Might have to make molds), but I'll get it done. Admittedly, I didn't spend all that much time on them, but I think they'll look really cool all together on the field.

I've been "toying" with the idea of doing a mod of Daffy Duck as an Orange Lantern. Complete with character card showing Special Powers with names like I'M A COWARD BUT I'M A GREEDY CRAVEN COWARD! and I'M A GREEDY SLOB! IT'S MY HOBBY!

I've been "toying" with the idea of doing a mod of Daffy Duck as an Orange Lantern. Complete with character card showing Special Powers with names like I'M A COWARD BUT I'M A GREEDY CRAVEN COWARD! and I'M A GREEDY SLOB! IT'S MY HOBBY!

You could also use magma from Heroclix as a construct
Dude - you've set the ole grey cells in action now - just dug out a spare FF Human Torch, and two orange "hand full o' heroes" onslaught and Bi-beast. Also have a Zzax which is orange but not transparent but that'll do !

Just about any translucent HeroClix can be made into any color Lantern construct. A little acetone turns the colored translucent plastic clear, and translucent paint (usually sold in craft stores as "glass paint" or similar) will turn it the color you want but translucent. For example, the yellow can be removed from E Origin Ray and repainted blue to make a Blue Lantern. Just an idea.

Well, the acetone is common knowledge; but please rep Papyrus regarding the translucent "glass paint", as he's the one who told me about it! (And wait till you see the Mist I just finished using it!)

Yeah, that's actually what I'm planning. The only translucent that Shapeways prints in is clear, so I'll be making them orange myself.
By the way, since these aren't real characters, you guys can order them if you want. I'll put up the page in the first post once I size them for print.
I would love a set of those, they look great. Thanks for sharing.

Games Workshop's colored inks will give the same effect. Some glass paints, especially yellows and whites, can look cloudy and not purely translucent so you have to test them out before going hog wild.
Yeah, that's actually what I'm planning. The only translucent that Shapeways prints in is clear, so I'll be making them orange myself.
By the way, since these aren't real characters, you guys can order them if you want. I'll put up the page in the first post once I size them for print.
