Okay, here's a quick recap on how we're going to be playing this for those who haven't read up on it at mafiascum.net or elsewhere.

Each of you will be sent a private message (PM) a role you have been assigned. This PM will include your character, alignment, and any special abilities you might have. You may not copy-and-paste anything from this message. I occasionally have a distinctive writing style (read misspelling style), and it could be a giveaway as to if someone is telling the truth or not... a healthy dose of paranoia is what we're going for. Although not prohibited, there is no need to act 'in character'... if you start saying 'bub' and 'snikt' a lot, people will figure out who you are. You're trying to hide your identity so that whoever is killing people doesn't decide to go for you next.

The game will begin with a story post by me, detailing why everyone is here and the first death. After that, you will have 24 hours to vote on who you want to lynch. Votes are cast by typing VOTE: NAME or CHANGE VOTE: NAME in this thread. PLEASE BOLD ALL VOTES! You may also vote for 'Nobody'. If a majority vote is not achieved by the end of 24 hours, nobody will be lynched. Either way, you get another story post and we enter the Night Phase. The Night Phase will last for 24 hours. Anyone with a Night Ability must PM me their target by the end of the phase (or PM me 'nope, not using it tonight' if you are allowed to). At the end of the phase, you get another story post learning who died... erm, I mean, what happened during the night. And we repeat until only one faction is left standing.

The thread will be locked during night phases to prevent illegal chatter.

Expect anything... past games I've been part of have involved cults, serial killers, multiple mafia families, suicide pacts, powers that change every few days, all kinds of oddness. If you've got a question about rules or really ANYTHING game related, please ask ME, not anyone else. Please do it via PM so that other people don't accidentally overhear you. You may think that an innocent rules question like, "If a roleblocker blocks a vigilante who targetted him for death, what happens?" wouldn't be a problem, however, a crafty player will likely deduce that you have one of those two roles. That is an unfair advantage and if I find out, will result in a double mod-kill. Direct all question to me.

Remember: Unless your Role allows you to, you may only discuss this game in this thread. Anyone caught communicating about this game outside this thread, without a Role that allows them to, will be auto-killed. I have a zero tolerance policy on this. I'm not kidding. I want NO talk about this game outside this thread. talk about old finished games if you'd like, but make no reference to this game. Many of you work together so if I give you any leeway, it may lead to slip-ups.

And since we've got a bunch of people who are new to the site and its workings, I'll clarify some things. This is a privately owned site. That means they can warn you or kick you off for anything they want. That said, unless you act up, they won't do that so just be mindful of some rules. No cursing or bypassing the swear filter. If something slips and you notice a #### show up in your post, leave it that way. We are all adults and can figure out what you meant.

No aggressive behavior. There's a difference between playing a game and being indignant. That line is subjective, but use your best judgment. Sexual connotations are frowned upon. Don't get explicit. You want to make a juvenile joke, I don't have a problem with it, but if you're too graphic, you may get in trouble. Keep in mind I can't condone these juvenile jokes, but I have made quite a few myself, within reason of course. These rules may seem restrictive, but they're not as tight as I make them out to be.

Oh and KitsuShel is a moderator. you can tell because her screen name is red. That means she has the power to give warning points and ban people. If she tells you to knock it off, please listen. She'll be playing the game with us so she'll probably be the most prominent mod in this thread. I guess that's about it. There are a couple days for all of the veterans to add anything else they can think of. I ask that everyone post here so I can get an accurate count on who's paying attention and who's up to speed with realms registrations and all.

Also, I forgot. For the newbies, to send a private message, the easiest way is to find a post made by the intended receiver. Click on their screen name and then choose "send a private message to *****" from the drop down menu.

Alright, now that the unpleasantries are out of the way, I hope everyone enjoys themselves. The game will begin Monday around lunch time.

There was nothing he could do. There was no escape. He was going to die tonight. He only had two options: die like a man, or go out like a coward. He was no coward. He was surrounded by goons. Punks off the street trying to make their name off an Overkill brother. It wasn’t going to happen. They would need to bring in the big guns if they were going to off him.

He fought, for what seemed like hours, against a small army of men. He could have kept going. He was having fun amidst the carnage. But a voice froze him in his tracks. Literally.

“Oh, stop, stop, all of you, don’t move,” said a smiling man as he strolled through the melee. “While I’ve been enjoying the show, it really is time for us to move on from here.”

Another man with a glowing cube, stared at Xander. The cube lit up brighter. Xander burst into flames.

“Let us rejoin our new allies, we have worlds to conquer.”

How do you know he has a kill power and wasn't just bluffing? Sounds like inside information.

I've never met a mod without a kill power. I'll admit he maybe bluffing, but I don't like the odds.

Really? How many games have you been in where the mod kills someone? It's pretty much always the other players doing the killing - via NK's, lynching, etc.

Oh you don't have to vote for people if you don't want to. I likely activity, but I'm not going to force anyone to do things they don't want to do. Unless I feel like they're too inactive, at which point I replace them.

End of Day 1

Clearly the Town was tired. It was daytime after all. Daytime was reserved for being hungover and bandaging oneself. Sometimes both things. The night was when the real action happened.

Night 1 begins now, you have 24 hours to submit actions

Night One

Davos walked the streets. That’s not entirely accurate: Davos moved through the Town as though he had contempt for the ground he was walking on, the buildings around him, and the people who looked at him. A red headed girl walked toward him. It was stupid, but his pride would not let him alter his path. The girl bucked her hips into his and cradled his head, biting his throat as she did so. He threw her back with his one good hand and wiped the blood from his flesh.

“Oooh, does the big boy want to play rough?” The girl taunted. She charged him, but he evaded her attack without appearing to move. She charged again, with the same result. Again. Again.

Davos grinned. Where he was missing his hand, purple energy in the shape of a hand appeared, and clenched into a fist; Davos’ grin broadened.

The girl charged at him again, but this time was different. Time seemed to slow around the two. If you were one to notice such things, you would feel the words STEEL PHEONIX BLOW (FIRST EXECUTION). Davos punched the girl. She was flew backwards, but somehow he travled with her, and spiked her head into the ground. Before she could move, before her body could even twitch, he was on her.

*BOOM*

As suddenly as the fight had switched to Davos’ favor, so did the fight end, with Davos on the ground, blood and brain trickling from his forehead.

A man with a skull mask walked over to the girl and gently picked her up in his arms. Cradling her, he walked back to his masters. His job here was done.

Captain Nifty is dead! He was Davos (Town) from The Immortal Iron Fist

Not necessarily. Sin and Crossbones would both be on the same team. The mafia team, in this case, since it looks like town=heroes and mafia=villains.

At least, assuming that is Sin and Crossbones in the writeup. Considering that Crossbones was 'tender' to the girl, it seems likely it was Sin, as there's not anyone else he'd be that nice towards.

This is part of why I'm just not going with the Daredevil claim (and the fact that the replacement Daredevil is here makes me feel part of the "storyline" is that Matt's out-of-the-picture and Danny is taking his place).

The good news is I own almost every Brubaker run in Marvel, DC and Wildstorm.

The cosmic cube was the focus of Brubaker's very first series of storylines in Captain America. *SPOILERS* Highlight to read. Skull was murdered he used the cube in his possession to transfer his consciousness to Alexander Lukin. It was ultimately the cube and its subsequent destruction that helped Bucky reclaim his memories.

That clue does nothing for daredevil (in my Marvel Masterworks, it is a vat of radioactive waste) and everything for Red Skull.

Not true, per say. If you're Mafia and Dark isn't then swapping him with one of your members means the info-gatherers target Dark and get your guy, thinking they have found scum.

As JoH says though, unless you also want to tie up your Doctor as well, you're risking the Vig deciding to take out Dark and hit your guy.

The man double checked his files. He double checked his notes. It wasn’t really necessary in this instance, but he liked to be sure.

The plan was simple. Bump the van, keep the guards locked inside with cars, and kill their cargo. He knew how to drive, and he knew a few people he could count on, he wasn’t worried. He was a bit concerned that his targets mental restraints would break during the crash, but that was a concern he would have to live with.

His plan worked.

He opened the door to the back of the van and the man known as The Black Death stared back at him. Neither man spoke a word. They both knew what was about to happen here, and they both had enough honor to not ruin the scene.
