View Full Version : Shadowcat/Apocalypse Question

I'm really excited about X-Plosion, but I don't remember Shadowcat (Kitty Pryde, right?) or Apocalypse ever flying. Granted, I'm more of a DC fan, but I've read quite a few X-men stories and I know the characters.
And for that matter, I don't remember Thanos flying, either. I know that with the Infinity Gauntlet he could do whatever he wanted, but the dial doesn't really represent what I imagine would be a good representation of Infinity Gauntlet powers.
Can anyone help me out on these issues, please? :(

Porky-lips, I don't know about. But Shadowcat can "walk on air" while she's phasing -- that's why she doesn't sink through the floor -- and she's been using that as a form of flight almost since her first appearance.
In fact, she's about the only character (along with Angel, who we have yet to see) who normally acted the role of a "taxi" in the comics. Kitty used to phase her teammates with her all the time.
I was really expecting her Clix to have the Defend power, and I'm rather disapointed that they don't. C'est la vie.

Greetings,
Also, in case it needs to be said, Thanos is an Eternal. One of the inherant powers of all Eternals is flight. Anytime in comics when Thanos doesn't seem to be able to fly is (as far as I can tell) because some writer forgot or opted to overlook Thanos' inherant powers.

Actually Iceman has always been a major taxi as well. He and Beast have always been quite the tag team.

His attack doesn't go below an 8. He may not be as powerful as he is in the comics, but then if he was he would be near the 500 point range. I think he is very playable.

Don't quote me or anything, but I'm pretty sure they gave Apocalypse flight to represent when he grows to a massive size. That was probably the best way to do it without making him a big fig.

I think they mainly placed Shadowcat on a flying dial basically because in the rules only flying characters can carry others. And to allow her to phase through walls with others in tow.
This may be the same reason for Apocalypse though I'm not sure about this one.

Real simple the_iron_man.
Apocalypse has not been all powerful all the time. In the 80's and early 90's he was weak. Very weak, compared to what he is now. Cyclops has been able to knock him out of the fight before. A unique is a specific time period. For Apocalypse it appears 80's and early 90's form. Which is pretty close to what I would put his points and Powers. Even in this weak state he's still powerful.
Oh and Apocalypse can float. At least he use to when I kept up with comics.
