Anyone seen the new article, Deconstructing Firelord (http://www.wizkidsgames.com/heroclix/marvel/gameresources.asp?cid=37508) on the WK site?

Under "Facing Firelord in Battle," the thrid point discusses using Batman against Firelord.

The article itself is okay... but what really struck me is how this is the first time on an official WK piece where they acknowledge playing Marvel and DC together.

Thoughts?

I haven't seen the article but WK have never said you couldn't mix the two universes unless it were in a sanctioned tournament.

The team I use when I play a 300 pt team is a mix of actually all three sets they have come out with, and in their own rule books they state that "anyone" can show up to battle one another so people playing against each other can have same characters, so, really you could have both DC and Marvel:) More is better with heroclix

Let's put it this way:

The only time the sets cannot be mixed is in tournament play. They are designed with the same rules, and work perfectly together. Just as Indy clix will when it debuts.

Now, here's an interesting twist: a venue can make a house rule that allows the use of DC in Marvel, and Marvel in DC, and so on. That won't change the prize support - it will always be Marvel or DC or Indy - but it does leave things wide open for mixing, so long as it is agreed upon before the tournament begins. You can't advertise it on the sanctioned tournaments page, any more than you can advertise any other house rules in a tourmament, but that doesn't stop you from doing it. They have all but said to so Envoys at one point or another.

The only time you can't use this rule is when running a Marquee tournament, and you MUST follow the exact WizKids sanctioning rules - NO HOUSE RULES ALLOWED.

Hope that clears some things up. ;)

The reason they allowed the DC vs Marvel scenerio to be allowed in there is because they didnt write it, infact a fan did.

I find it really odd that the tournaments are set up as no Marvel DC mix.

I was told when Clix was first put out that they were doing both Marvel and DC for the expressed purpose of giving fans the ability to see Marvel vs DC.

Anyone know why tournaments are homogenous?

I think it may have to do with the whole dc team abilities thing. BUt that's just pure specualtion. Since or judge allows mixing so long as he chooses the team abilities it's a good guess no?

Dumb questuion but you can mix clobbering time and Infinity marvel together in a team during a tournment correct.

personlly I like playing mixed teams I trying to work on a Hulk batman team up in 300 points.

The no Marvel/DC reasoning is purely one of licensing issues between Wizkids, Marvel and DC.

Well, it's not really an 'Official WizKid's Article'..heh.

This was written by a Judge, like you or I..(that is.. if you're aJudge as well. =p ) ..anyways.. ..for writing these articles, you get so many points, yadda yadda, and some are selected to by posted on the site, to offer up information to players.

Now.. with that said.

Some of the more 'Official' Stuff.

You can not mix figures in Sanctioned Events normally . What's that mean? Well if you just go by the rules and all, they won't be mixed, but the Judge is allowed to put forth 'House Rules' to allow the mixing to occur, if they see fit to. I could go find the post, but feeling a bit lazy right now. ;)

And of course, when not playing Sanctioned events.. you can use the figures in any way you see fit.. even if that means using Paper, Rock, Scissors to decide the winner.;)

Hope this helps.. ..have fun.
