View Full Version : Lamppost Batman Value Question
Hi guys. I'm a relatively new player with a limited collection. I was just curious as to what most people had to do, give, or pay to get a lamppost Batman from Arkham Asylum. He is number one on my wants list and I was just trying to figure out how much of my soul I'll have to give up to get him.
Thanks for the help!

I originally paid 80 for mine. Then I found a deal on ebay a seller from china, the piece didn't have a card and the paint was poor. I bought it for 50+shipping. I traded the one I bought for 80 with a card for a BL Martian Manhunter, and repainted mine and printed out a card. I got lucky though.
To get him, it's 90+ just about everywhere. But to trade, No idea, I don't see too many floating around on trade threads.

i found one on ebay for 50 with no card. hes gonna run about 80 or so. if you dont wanna save a little try to find one without a card.
I paid nothing!
Because I don't have one!
Just to give you a baseline comparative value. : - )
Mine cost a mere $10.
I opened him straight out of a booster.

I would say he is worth about $80. There are those cheap ones from china for 50 dollars or something around that price but their paint job may be bad. I've heard that they may be factory rejects. But I got mine from a booster so I can't tell you for sure.

My suggestion would be to search for a cheap case of Arkham Asylum and take a chance on pulling one. I would never pay that kind of money for a little plastic figure, but investing your money in a case may get you one. You may also pull a Sinestro Corps Batman which I'm sure someone would trade a Lamppost Batman for. Even if you don't pull a chase, you are going to get many playable figures to add to your collection which is great for a new player.

Actually, I think that buying a bunch of boosters for the same price to buy a chase Batman is just setting someone up for disappointment. I've seen more chases pulled in SI, BatB, HOT(god packs), and those Pseudo chases from WOS, then I have EVER seen a chase Batman pulled.
I have purchased over 15 boosters in drafts at my comic shop, no Batman
My friend who buys at least 3 boosters every time he goes near the shop, he has purchases NO less then 30 AA boosters in the span of 5 months, and he has only pulled 1 Batman on Lampost.
The store owner who cracks open several boosters after getting a case in the mail, has only pulled 1 Sinestro corps Batman.
Then there is the 2 dozen players we have who regularly buy AA, and no one has pulled a chase so far. This is at least 80 boosters in a 5 month period(just from those people I know of.)
The store owner is always excited for someone when they pull any kind of good piece, since when they person pulls junk he feels bad--as if he has ripped them off. So I would know if anyone else has pulled one, since he likes to spread good news. It seems, that the AA chases are some of the hardest to pull next to Supernova Zombies.
If you want a chase Batman, I say bite the bullet and trade/buy him. Unless you like gambling with bad odd, the BUY BOOSTERS.

Well, I have to completely disagree with you on that one. Spending about $100 on one figure or on 20 blind boosters that get you 100 figures with the possibility of getting the one figure you want (odds are against you, but it has been known to happen) seems like a no brainer to me for a new player. Your examples are also from one store out of how many? Yes, the Arkham chase Batmen seemed hard to pull, but I have seen it done three times at my venue. Again, even if he doesn't pull the figure he really wants he has 100 new figures to play/trade with and as a new player I see that being more beneficial than dropping all of that money on one figure.

Yes, new. I, for whatever reason, over looked that. So yes, a bunch of boosters actually is better. I was looking at it through my eyes, I have everything I want from AA.
