View Full Version : DC 75th SR Prices
Though this is really early, the pre orders on ebay and online stores has alot of SR's like Bane, Doomsday and Sinestro at between 30-40 dollars sometimes more. Is this just pre release hype? and they will fall back down after the set is out a month or 2? I remember Red Hulk, Cosmic Spiderman and doppleganger being expensive at the start for WOS but all of them have dropped in price.
I was kind of shocked seeing Bane at 34.99 and a certain online store im going to hold off on that one.

I think they'll stay in that range for a while, to be honest. Then again, it could depend on rarity. Look no further than Crisis Sinestro. Of course, he's the reason the new one could have value as well. All the folks who don't agree with the going rate for the Crisis version will be looking to snatch the new one up at a reduced rate.
Honestly, I expect Hal Jordan to be in that range as well. I'm more curious what the White Lanterns will fetch.

Crisis Sinestro was high largely in part due to the smaller run of crisis produced.
Hal Jordan won't be that high, either--he has two perfectly playable versions in Modern Age. Only people gunning for the 1-XX slots will be after him if he's too hard-to-get.
I imagine most of the SRs will trend a little higher, on average, than the WoS SRs, only because they don't have guys like the spot dragging them down.
I imagine most will end up in the 20-30 range rather quickly, with some going even lower (wonder twins, dino beast boy).

In our area Doomsday,Sinestro, Ares and Bane are the most sought after SRs and is ranging for 1,000 to 1,800 php (or 25 - 40 dollars)

I can see the Golden Age figures (lantern excluded) going for around $15-20, and I'd pay $10-15 for Superman and/or Batman. I'm curious to see how the WL's go, as they seem more Ultra Rares than actual Chases.

They may be somewhat high at first, but I would not compare them to WOS SRs. The addition of the White Lanterns is going to throw the price range off. There were just SRs in WOS, so they stayed a little higher because of that.

Pre-order prices are somewhat hype - but normally they are a pretty decent indicator for prices that we will see for the first week or 2. Expect prices to calm down after 3-4 weeks after the initial release week.
It's never easy to gauge SR prices, as some end up being more rare or more sought after than others. Here's my vague guesses for first week prices, with most of these prices ending up $5-$10 less 3-4 weeks later.
49 Green Lantern - $20
50 Superman - $20
51 Wonder Woman - $15
52 Batman - $20
53 Hal Jordan - $20 - $25
54 Barry Allen - $15
55 Beast Boy - $15
56 Doomsday $25-$30
57 Bane - $17-$20
58 Ares $35
59 Wonder Twins $15
60 Sinestro - $35 - $40
Mostly guesses - but I could see these prices, especially if White Lanterns take up a SR slot in a brick.

The bolded numbers are prices that these have sold at already, or are currently bidded at. Maybe this is pre-release hype or anxious anticipation, I don't know. I think Dino-Beast Boy is going to be much higher than most think. I also think Green Lantern and the Golden Age Trinity are going to be higher as well.
I guess time will tell.

Gotta agree wit Bugle......I think the Dino Beast boy will be the most sought after one.....

Ok dino beast boy could be higher - the more I think of the combination of the piece looking ridiculousy awesome, the fact that it's only 60 points makes it extremely playable, and then the fact that everyone will want to one to complete the "beast boy set", I can see it being worth more.
But come on, the most sought after SR in the set? Tell me you're joking.
Edit: I also believe it's value will actually be descreased because, from all indicators by picture, it's going to be able to be sniped from store shelves easily. It looks like it's going to weigh significantly more than any other piece in the set.

I think the argument to make would not be most sought after but potentially rarest due to folks wanting multiples of them...I am planning to get mine early...

Will there really be a high demand to have multiples? Is that coming from a playability standpoint, or a collectibility standpoint? Or do people want them for mods? I mean where would multiples be needed.
I honestly don't know, so enlighten me on that man. I can sort of see if from playability, but not too sure yet.

We also thought that about Rulk and Groot and neither weighs even close to the Spider-mans. Perhaps Wonder Woman's horse or Bane or someone might hold some weight as well? :ermm:

This is true. Groot was definitely made from a lighter weight material. Hopefully Dino-Boy will be as well.

Tell me you wouldn't want to play 5 Dino-Boys for a 300 point team.

We have the highlander rule at my venue.
I hope you're right though, in case I pull a dino beast boy--I'm perfectly content with bear, cheetah, and regular beast boy.

I can't really back up the comparisons to Red Hulk or Groot, it's a double base giant dinosaur. From the picks it stretches beyond the base. We are all just guessing at this point, but you'd really have to bet that it will be weighty.
Even the Devil Dino/Moonboy had a hollow tail and still carries some weight - this fig at least looks bigger then they are.
I mean I am now debating people will all have better access to a SR giant dino - at this point I'm just talking to keep myself from going insane in anxious anticipation of Tuesday!!! GAHHHH!H!H!H!HE(@(E$)PIRFQPIHFENepaghaeGHGAEHAhigqhe32hti24ht42iHT#H#!H$

Why wouldn't one want multiple T-Rex??

A few of the online sites posted singles today.
I won't list their prices, as it was an issue last time, but generally hcrealms members in this thread have hit it pretty spot on as far as the SRs go.
Interesting the white lanterns are pretty much all $34.99, except supes is $59, and Ice is $20.
So looks like more then likely those are mostly going to settle in the "sought after" SR price.
So yea, like usual, most of the traders on this site know their stuff - which is why I like coming here - good job dudes.
Edit:
Also, the e-mail that they posted singles was sent out about 10 minutes ago, I went on it says they are "Sold Out" of these white lanterns:
Superman, Flash, Wonder Woman, Hal Jordan, Bart Allen.
So either this means those are going to be the most popular of the white lanterns, or they simply didn't get those out of their cases. I'm going to probably guess that someone got on before me and bought them all, but who knows as it's just a guess.
