Today’s preview finishes up the Limited Edition portion of the DC 75th Anniversary Organized Play (OP) kit.
We begin today’s preview with a one-time Amazon and Titan, Troia!

Of all the LEs, only Ice Maiden is a meh for me. Bart Allen is freaking fantastic for the points!

Troia seems solid, up to where you would get Photonic Tie-Up. I like the attack spike at the end of the dial though.

Impulse seems like a nutty tie up piece for 49 points. If you succeed in the shape change roll, unless they're a sharpshooter, that figure is done attacking for the turn, right?

Icemaiden seems kinda 'meh' for the points, considering that she can't crack Invuln. The dial screams 'sitting duck'

Troia brings another powerhouse to the Titans, a team that is mostly lacking in that department (much like their Marvel counterparts, the X-Men). I agree with Thumble; I'm gunning for her too.

Should I aquire an Impulse, he will have a permanent place on my future theme teams (next to Batman Beyond and Time Trapper).

I did wonder why a Flash Comics #1-pose Jay Garrick was missing from the collection of Golden Age cover repro sculpts in this set, and now I understand why. Too dynamic for a speedster.

Holy Carp, Donna is awesome. My Wife is going to pee herself with excitement! She will be upset about the no Amazon thing, but I will explain why to her and she will begrudgingly accept it. She'll just be so happy to have a kick arse Donna Troy!

Other than Grodd (another recent remake who I'd play in a heartbeat), all of the LEs are great takes on the originals.

Troia: Darkstar (sort of) with 8 range!
Impulse: Great counter to WoS Nightcrawler and Zoom, provided the Shape Change roll is made.
Icemaiden: Can be played with Ice (Tora) on the same force. Can't wait to run Ice, Icemaiden, Fire and Guy Gardner on the same team ("Four's a Crowd").

Impulse is pretty darn good for the points. Nice, simple dial for Icemaiden. Not sure what to think yet of Troia's dial. I definitely like Impulse, though.

Impulse should have the Teen Titans keyword, seeing as how he was on the Teen Titans and all. As Impulse. Though the Teen keyword renders that only a minor problem.

With that Impulse, you can almost field a decent speedster team with Johnny quick, Impulse and a Flash that starts with 3 damage...
Oh, and Zoom for flurry...lol

Impulse was the only LE out of this set that I was really excited for, and he doesn't disappoint me at all. I'm already looking to do up at least one Young Justice team.

I don't really care about the Troia and Icemaiden characters at all (Troia's bio makes her seem really convoluted, but I've come to expect that even more from modern DC), but is it just me or did they seem to purposely make Icemaiden ugly? I do not like the paint job on her face at all.

Donna Troy's backstory is quite possibly the most convoluted and ret-conned in all of DC. And considering characters like Mon-el and Hawkman, that's saying something.

Though for Ice Maiden, I'm gathering she should have the Justice League of America and Justice League Europe keywords, though the latter was pretty brief. The first one to represent what the logo was on the cover of the book when she was a member, as that seems to be WK's policy for assigning the JL keywords. Half the time, anyway.

I guess 49 points for a Speedster with only 9 attack isn't bad but I would have liked a 10, but that would have been a little more expensive. Quite nice that he has Regen though.

I like how they went with no ranged on the Donna, seems fitting from what others have said with the Hyper Sonic. So you always have a choice of doing a Hypersonic or just shooting from range!! Would have liked her to have the Teen Titans TA since she has the keywords but I guess that's what ATA's are for!

I can't believe my ice, I would have thought a dial like Sigrid's would be a lot cheaper.
Her damage value never climbing above a 2 kinda leaves me out in the cold.
Still, I wouldn't discount her right away - she'd much hardier than most Running Shooters around her point cost, which is pretty sleet.
It might be worth putting Ambidextrous on her, double-target incap is snow joke.
In any case, I'm a fan of the character so I really hope I winter.

That not how Impulse's Speed Duplicate should work. The way the power comes off is like he has aftermerges when its closer to Multiple Man in that there more then one of him. He should get a minion ability that effects figs name Impulse.

What is so sick about Impulse?

His special ability? How does it counter Nightcrawler?

I'm just not seeing it.

I think his ability is interesting, if he rolls Shape Change, to be placed adjacent to the attacker, whom he can Hypersonic punch and run away from next turn. But against Nightcrawler, Impulse only moves to the current location of the attacker, and Nightcrawler will just Hypersonic/Phase to another location.

It's an interesting ability, especially with Combat Reflexes, but I don't see it being sick (overpowered).

Ranking the LE's:

1) Grodd - cause he's pretty cool

2) Impulse - cause he's really cheap

3) Troia because she has HSS - it will feel like Wonder Woman (cool EE at the end)

4) Icemaiden - I actually like the dial but she's gonna have a hard time replacing the 47 point Ice (even if they are different characters).

5) Gleek - cause, its Gleek. I really don't have many urges to run 135 point Wonder Twin figures. Good for his fans but I'm pretty meh about him.

Overall, I like the LE's but none are a must have for me. I'm not sure if that's disappointing or not, though...

So rather than just hitting Shape Change and having the opponent pick another target, they're left with only making a breakaway roll. I think Impulse could be more of an anti-Captain America piece.
